“It’s fine. I understand Vicky admitted.
“But I am going to make it up to you when we return from this.”
“Yeah, sure, I can’t wait to hang out with you.”
“Stay safe and have a good night’s rest. We will talk tomorrow. I love you!”
“I love you too.” Vicky sniffled, ending the call with her brother.
She placed her phone on the counter she was leaning against, buried her face in her hands, and subsequently ran her fingers through her hair, thinking of what was left and what next she was going to do.
Vicky was brought out of her thoughts when the sound of the doorbell came through.
She frowned, thinking it was her subconscious because there was no way anyone would be at her door by this time. Plus, there was security around, so she was a bit calm that she was safe.
Thinking if she heard wrong or heard right. The sound of the doorbell came through again. This time, it was loud and clear.
With so much confusion on her face, She picked up her phone and exited the kitchen, taking slow steps towards the door with her heart beating really fast.
She genuinely had no idea who it was at the door but a part of her got excited at the thought that it could be Oscar who came back.
She finally reached the door side, unlocked and opened it.
“You okay? You look like you are disappointed to see me?”
“What what are you doing here?”
“Shouldn’t you let me in before you start interrogating me?”
Vicky sighed, opening the door wider for Kathie.
“What are you doing there?” She asked Kathie after shutting the door. Kathie was putting on a short skimpy dress and her hair was beautifully styled, and her makeup was still very much there. It was evident that she was either coming from or going to a party.
“Are you fine? She asked Vicky.
“What do you mean?” She frowned.
“Ashton called me to come to check up on you. He said he called and that an unknown person picked up your call. Did you misplace your phone? That is why I did not call. I came straight to make sure you are okay.”
“Ashton?” Vicky uttered his name in disbelief. “He just seems to be doing too much lately.”
“What do you mean?”
“Why would he call you? He has been giving me nothing but a headache lately.”
“Why are you talking this way? If he is not concerned about you then he would not reach out to me.”
“I really don’t know if his plan was to make me go crazy. I am honestly fine. My phone is with me. I do not know what he is talking about.” Vicky stretched out her phone in her hand to show Kathie.
“Are you okay!
“I am fine, Kathie.” She answered nonchalantly, tired of everyone asking her the same question when she honestly wanted to be alone.”
“You are definitely hiding something. Your eyes are red, I can see stained tears on your cheek. You look exhausted, your hair is a bit all over the place… Victoria rolled her eyes at Kathie’s Defensiveness
“Wait, is that hic key on your neck?”
Victoria subconsciously brought her hand to her neck, not sure of what to do afterward.
“And besides, this place smells of sex. Wait… Katie’s lips curved into a smile.
“You’ve got a boo in here?” She whispered, giggling. “Was he the one that picked up the call?”
“I…I don’t…” Victoria swallowed painfully. “I don’t know what you are talking about.” She said, silently cursing Oscar for leaving a hic key on her. She had not looked into the mirror since he left so she had no idea that something like that was on her body.
“Come on, you do not need to be shy about this. Everyone deserves a good man and it is no big deal if you have one in your life or if he is here”
“Sorry for interrupting anything beautiful you guys were having. I was just worried about you, that is why I came to check if everything was fine with you.”
“But wait” Vicky frowned. “If your lover is here, then why are you all teary Did you guys have a fight?*

Knowing Kathie was not going to let her be till she knew the whole story, Vicky sighed, then made her way to the living room, with Kathie walking behind her like a lost puppy.
“Sophie is good right? Kathur could not help but ask when they got to the living room
“She is with Lara” She answered, popping down on a different couch from earlier and Kathie took a seat beside her.
“Oscar came over but he is not here anymore. He was the one who answered the call.”
“He you and Oscar, he was the one, the hi ckey?”
“Nothing happened,” Vicky assured.
“How old am 1: Seven?”
“What are you insinuating?”
“You do not have to lie to me, it is okay if you do not want to tell me everything because some things are really personal and I understand. Plus, we are adults and we can do whatever the hell we want to do. You know I would never judge you”
“You can just ask your questions directly instead of pretending to care about me.”
“You know I care about you but I am not denying the fact that I would like to know what happened.”
“I thought you and Oscar parted ways in the office. It is strange to know that he came here. You invited him?”
“Da mn!” Kathir mumbled. He is really possessive, isn’t he? Does it hurt that much?” She gestured to her hic key.
Vicky sighed. She unlocked her phone, went to her Camera, and pointed it towards her neck.
She men tally facepalmed seeing the tiny love bites in about five places on her neck and one on her shoulder. She touched it and noticed that it stung a little.
She sighed, putting her phone aside.
“I haven’t looked into the mirror. I had no idea it was there.”
“You’ve got any ointment?”
“I do not think so but I will check”
“So you are back with Oscar” Kathie asked.
“I would be so da mned if I am”
“You are saying one thing and I am seeing something else,” Kathie whispered.
“What else are you seeing?”
“You don’t want to see him but you both had sex? Anyone will tell from the mark on your neck that it was pretty intense. You would have to wear cover clothings for the next few days because it is going to take a while to clear off.”

“We are adults and we are free to make whatever decisions we want to. I just want you to be okay and to be happy.”
“This just tells me that you both are probably not over each other.”
“It is so embarrassing to even think about it, talkless of saying it out loud.”

“Of course I do. After I have sworn not to have anything to do with him. He comes in here unannounced and I get really carried away. I can’t describe how disappointed I am in myself. It is so pathetic”
“There is no need to be hard on yourself. I promise you. Sometimes we want something but our body wants something else.
You can’t tell your body or your mind who it should love and who it should get attracted to. Neither can you tell who your heart should beat for.”
“You may want to feel stu pid but please do not feel that way. I know it sucks to know that after 5 years of him hurting you and you both being apart, you still feel this way about him.”
“It is nothing. We just got carried away. It is never going to happen again.”
“The reason for turning down Ashton’s offer. Does this have to do with it?”
Victoria sighed. “I don’t know what is wrong with me.”
“You are perfectly fine. I promise you.”

“I honestly thought I was done with men. I know that Ashton is a great guy, I did not want anything to do with him but 1 tried to loosen up a bit with him. It is so sad I never saw him more than a friend.”
“But Oscar reappeared from nowhere and all I want to do is to jump on his bones. It didn’t matter if he ruined me and hurt. me in the past. All I knew there and then was that I wanted to be in his arms. Pathetic right?”
“Don’t blame yourself, Vee. We can’t help who we fall in love with.”
Vicky gently shook her head. I am not going to believe that.”
“Finding love in someone who ruined you is an eyesore. Words can’t describe how much I feel disgusted. I hate the fact that I do not feel guilty about it.”
“Does Oscar feel the same way?”
“I don’t know. But I think so.” She replied in all honesty. “He couldn’t stop staring at me or hardly take his eyes away me.”
“Then 1 think you have nothing to worry about. It would have been so worrisome if it was a one sided attraction.”
Vicky shook her head. “Don’t get me wrong, Kathie. I don’t care if the attention is started by him or from both sides, I don’t want to feel what I am feeling towards him anymore.”
“I understand you, babe. And on that note, I would want both of us to be very realistic.”
“It is true that Oscar hurt you and all. But we can’t change the fact that there is still something amazing that exists between the two of you.”
“I would not call it amazing. It is just……” Victoria sighed, burying her face in her hand for a second.
“We honestly got carried away. Well, I don’t know about him so I will speak for myself.”
“He got in through the window. We really spoke at length. He initiated almost everything so I guess his feelings were really genuine but he did not force me to do anything. I had no idea when I started responding back.”
“G od sees my heart that I want to trace the cause so bad to me being celibate for a long time. I really don’t know if that added to it but at that moment Oscar was here, I wanted it so bad, and being in his warm embrace was the only thing that mattered at that point when he was here.”
“I do not feel any form of regret but I am just mad at myself that I consented to such.”
“But it is never going to happen again. Oscar and I have officially separated already.”
“I won’t ask why or how because I know it must have been initiated by you. If there is anything you are a professional at, then it is putting people in their place.”
“So you mean Oscar’s chapter is officially closed? You do not feel anything for him anymore?”
“It doesn’t matter if what I feel for him exists or not. I do not want anything to do with him and that’s it.”
“Sorry to invade but did he ask about Sophie, like wanting to be in her life and all?”
“Yes, he asked after her and we both decided that it was best if he was not in the picture.”
“What? Why are you staring at me that way?” She challenged Kathie.
“You both decided that was the best thing to do or it was your personal decision?”
“I don’t think it matters if it was my personal decision or not. There is so much history to what Oscar and 1 have. He knows deep down that it was for the best.”
“Then why are you all teary? It is hard to let go, isn’t it?”
Vicky did not say anything.
“I just want to move on with my life and forget that tonight ever happened.”
“I don’t understand why Ashton told you I might be in danger. Oscar picked up the call and they exchanged words. It was all about threatening him to stay away from me because I am his woman. His words did not sound like I was being attacked or anything.
“I think Ashton’s concern was from a very jealous point of view.”
“His aim was probably to make me come here so I would destroy any play you and Oscar wanted to execute.”
“Crazy that he thinks his actions are going to make me like him the most!”
“I do not blame him. When it comes to the one we love and care about so much, we do things that sometimes make us question our sensibility. He is just doing everything that will make you his.”
“His gesture towards me is starting to get pretty annoying. I hope he goes back to that receptionist girl. I am not interested in him.”
“I understand. You received the confirmation today, didn’t you?”
“It’s crazy!! The way I feel around him. I have never felt that around anyone before. And it just revealed to me that Ashton is no contender.”
“No doubt he is an amazing guy. But he deserves to be with someone who is capable of returning his energy and showering him with the same love. And unfortunately, I am not that person.”
