He had given up everything for Amber, even breaking up with Emma. In the end, he caught Amber in bed with someone else. He felt that she had played with his heart. Back when Emma first discovered his affair with Amber, this is how she must have felt.
He wanted to crush Amber in his hands, to skin her and break her bones. However, even if he did all that, it would still not be enough to dampen his hatred. He had already given her everything and sacrificed so much of himself.
He had thrown away Emma and abandoned Mia. He had done everything he could to help Amber succeed, and in the end, he found her in bed with another man. The indescribable pain was rooted deeply in his heart, feeding into his anger and a mix of other emotions threatening to swallow him whole.
Three years of love had ended in nothing. He had once treated Emma the same way, and now, thinking of her, Nathan remembered all the humiliation and torture he had put her through. Nathan wanted her to come back, not because he was truly sorry, but because he was probably experiencing a similar kind of betrayal that she had.
A little while later, Eric packed away his documents and headed into the bedroom. Seeing Emma standing beside the bed in a daze, he reached out his arms and hugged her. “Sorry, I’ve been working so late,” he said.
She returned his embrace, soaking in the warmth from his body. “I know you’re trying to make time to go overseas with me. What’s wrong?” he asked. Eric noticed the slight change in her voice. They had developed an understanding between each other over time. Although Emma didn’t speak much, he could still sense a shift in her emotions simply by looking at her.
“I think Nathan and Amber have broken up, and I’ve just realized something. I’ve been thinking about whether I’ve done all of this to seek revenge on them or to do something for myself. I understand now that it’s crucial to make them face the consequences of their actions, but more importantly, I want to be standing next to you on your level,” she said.
Eric gently stroked her dark hair before carrying her over to the bed. “Good,” he said. “Now close your eyes. We’ll be going overseas tomorrow, and don’t worry, I’ll always keep you company.”
She closed her eyes and fell asleep peacefully in his arms. She knew that the day they returned home from abroad would be the day she’d take care of Amber once and for all.
Early the following morning, before Emma had even boarded the plane, Creative Century leaked the news that they had actually been going after a different model in Global Pictures, not Emma. Everyone assumed that Creative Century was only saying this because they’ve been repeatedly rejected by Emma, and this was their only way to save their pride.
As for the other model they mentioned, it couldn’t be anyone else but Amber. Is Amber about to make a comeback? They wondered. Had she stolen a big contract from Emma? Netizens snorted in contempt, posting comments like “she’s not worthy of it.”
They didn’t think Amber’s personality deserved any high praise. If Creative Century were really going to be working with her, then it wasn’t difficult to imagine how many contracts and schemes she’d used or even how many higher-ups she’d slept with. “Emma, do you want me to investigate what happened?” Lisa asked, looking at the news in discomfort. No matter what Amber wanted to do, it was her own business. However, the fact that she’d used Emma to create publicity disgusted Lisa.
“This may have happened for a reason,” Emma responded. “I have a feeling that Nathan and Amber have broken up. If I’m right, keep an eye on Amber. She might choose to get an abortion. We have to make sure she at least keeps it until the award ceremony.” Lisa froze for a moment before nodding. “I understand. I’ll see what I can do about it.”
“It doesn’t matter what her relationship with Nathan is,” said Emma. “Since she owes me, I’ll definitely make her pay.” Meanwhile, Nathan had also seen the news online. His handsome face hardened. It seemed like Amber really had slept with a big shot.

Realizing that Nathan was not going to budge at all, she immediately dried her tears and laughed coldly.
“You can’t blame anyone for this but yourselves. If you’d been able to protect me and get rid of Emma, I wouldn’t have had to go down this path.”
“I’ve been your lover for three years,” said Nathan, “but what have you given me?” She asked, “All you’ve given me is failure, Nathan. Don’t forget that I’m still carrying your child. And what do you plan on doing about this child?” he asked.
