Chapter 403. Understanding The Cause. Verdantia’s Softness.

Verdantia’s head was extremely chaotic. She couldn’t process how things had turned this way in just a few exchanges. ‘Why did Liu Shu react like that? Think, you useless woman, think!’

Her dear Liu Shu, a being she couldn’t wait to pamper with her entire existence, had become cold and angered at her. ‘She became angry when I entered the flower that Elu created.’ Thinking of that girl, her face was complicated. ‘What did she do to anger Liu Shu so much?’

Verdantia’s confusion stemmed from Liu Shu’s lack of reaction when similar situations happened in the past. Verdantia was not a loner, so she also had some friends and other relationships. ‘First, explain yourself. Whatever she asks, answer honestly. My adorable tree loves me so much, whatever is happening must be a misunderstanding.’

Once she was at the base of the World Tree, she extended her hand carefully and grabbed the World Tree’s branch. A flash image of the broken root appeared in her mind, making her hand recoil. “Ah.”

Liu Shu was about to pull the branch up when she saw Verdantia’s reaction. A frown appeared on the Avatar’s face. However, she did not say anything. 

After taking a deep breath, Verdantia grabbed the root tightly and was pulled up to the belly button of the World Tree. Walking forward through it, she arrived in front of the Petal Door.

Verdantia glanced at her own petal, and her stomach twisted as her heart tightened. The petals were always around 95% full. However, hers had dropped to around 80%. Then, the missing light had changed from a beautiful white to a pulsing red light that Verdantia had never seen before. ‘W-What?’

The white light being at around 80% was a signal that Liu Shu’s feelings were still deep. However, the rest made Verdantia feel a strange sense of dread. After taking a deep breath, she slid the Petal Door over and stepped inside.

Her gaze moved toward the place where Liu Shu usually was, which was near the door, and she found her sitting while hugging her legs. Her face when looking at Verdantia was awkward, as if she didn’t know how to react.

Verdantia approached carefully, wanting to give her a hug like always, but Liu Shu raised her hand and pointed in front of her. “Sit.”

Her arms, outstretched to hug Liu Shu, froze in place. After a second there, Verdantia sat in front of Liu Shu while sweat accumulated on the palms of her hands. “L-Liu Shu, listen to me, okay? I promise I can explain.”

Liu Shu didn’t speak. Instead, she used her chin to tell her to go ahead. That gesture helped Verdantia feel a great part of her tension leave her body. ‘As long as she is ready to listen, I am sure I can solve this.’

Verdantia’s green eyes shone with seriousness and determination as she locked eyes with Liu Shu’s amethyst orbs. “Liu Shu, I love you more than anything.”

Liu Shu’s toes flinched and curled, but she didn’t stop hugging her legs. Verdantia smiled through her fear, showing a tender expression. “I don’t know what happened. I don’t understand why you were upset and destroyed everything in that room. Regardless, I want you to know that you are my top priority. Over everything in this world, I love you. From the first time I laid eyes on you, my soul became bound to you for eternity. So, please let me understand. Let me know what actions made you upset so that I don’t repeat them again.”

Verdantia could feel that as she spoke, the tense body of the petite woman in front of her softened. While Liu Shu had become emotionally mature for the most part, she lacked any cognition of not showing her feelings outward. Therefore, Verdantia could easily feel the tension in her lovely Liu Shu slowly disappearing.

As soon as she finished those words, Liu Shu’s eyes watered, and she jumped into Verdantia’s arms. Verdantia easily caught her and sat on a soft leaf-bed at the side while holding the clingy little girl. “My precious girl. I am sorry, okay? I did something wrong without knowing, making you upset. So, forgive me and tell me what I did wrong, okay?”

Verdantia hugged Liu Shu tightly, her curves acting as comforting softness. Finally, Verdantia heard Liu Shu’s upset voice. “That woman wanted to take you away… You also didn’t deny her advances… I don’t like it. You are mine and only mine. Why are you flirting with another Sylvan?”

Verdantia’s brain felt as if a hammer had hit her. ‘Huh? What is my darling talking about?’ Looking down, she saw Liu Shu looking up with a slightly teary but firm expression. “You are mine! Why are you letting others flirt with you?”

The soft breath carrying those beautiful words blew away almost all negative feelings in Verdantia’s heart instantly. All the uncomfortableness in her heart was erased, extreme joy and happiness gushing like a wave that made her brain dizzy. Not missing a heartbeat, Verdantia lowered her head and hugged Liu Shu tightly, kissing her deeply. “Oh, my baby. Of course, I am yours. Verdantia’s body, soul, and everything else are yours, love.”

Liu Shu’s body softened, but her arms and legs coiled around Verdantia possessively, as if she wanted to entangle the tall and curvy Sylvan in her arms. “Then, mph~. Prove it.”

After kissing her until they were breathless, Verdantia’s face shone with endless love and pampering. “Tell me how. I’ll prove that my very sense of self is only for you, my love.”

Liu Shu humphed cutely, but her eyes were watery and full of tenderness. “T-Then, tell me about that woman. Why did you let her seduce you? … What did she tell you under the covers of that plant?”

Verdantia pushed Liu Shu down, her lips falling on her tender face continuously as she spoke. “That girl, I didn’t even realize she was seducing me. Their tricks can’t even be registered in my mind because my thoughts are full of you.”

Instantly, Verdantia noticed Liu Shu’s white face gain a deep blush. Her heart couldn’t help but melt. ‘Ah, my baby darling was having a jealousy episode. No wonder she was so angry. It’s probably the first time that she felt that kind of strong sensation so clearly, so my poor baby was confused.’

Then, she teased gently. “Because my precious darling reacted too fast, I couldn’t hear much of what she said. However, now that I know that she was trying to be a bad girl and seduce me, I have an idea of what she wanted to say to me.”

Liu Shu’s cheeks puffed. “… Bad woman. I should’ve killed her.”

Verdantia was not surprised at Liu Shu’s overreaction. A World Tree, similar to how they cared deeply for their territory and would react with extreme hostility toward those who stepped into it with malicious intent, treated relationships quite similarly. While courting a World Tree was dangerous, betraying the love of a World Tree was probably the worst thing one could do.

There were cases of entire Empires falling into ruin and committing spine-chilling disasters because they stole or hurt a World Tree’s lover. Of course, these scenarios were rare and far between. Not many had the guts to try to provoke a World Tree by doing such a foolish thing.

Nonetheless, as there were tales of that happening, lovers who fell out of favor usually wouldn’t trigger the World Tree’s extreme reaction. Verdantia gently licked Liu Shu’s lips as she smiled softly. “Perhaps my big baby didn’t pay too much attention to me, and others started having thoughts~. After all, Harmonixia’s office daughter made many think that she was your favorite.”

Liu Shu’s languid expression was suddenly filled with surprise. “H-Huh? Favorite? I don’t have a favo—Mmmph!”

Verdantia swallowed the rest of her words. After making the adorable World Tree’s face as ripe as a red apple, Verdantia smiled deeply. “I know. Harmonixia is the one with the most stable job position, right? Since she doesn’t move as much as Cinderielle, Tempestria, and I, you gave her that pretty flower daughter so that her work is easier to do, isn’t that right, my baby?”

Liu Shu’s heart felt as if a layer of honey was spread. She nodded shyly and gently bit Verdantia’s soft and sweet lips. “Yes. If Verdantia wants one, I can make as many children as you want. I’ll become Verdantia’s baby maker if she wants~.” 

Verdantia felt blood flow down, her breath becoming ragged. Liu Shu’s face heated when she felt the hard thing touching her softness below grow in size. The voice that escaped her dripped with seduction. “Verdantia… “

The Life Sylvan couldn’t hold back anymore. The combination of those words and the soft and alluring heart-scratching call was too much. Moreover, knowing that Liu Shu reacted like she did because of jealousy was like a match being thrown into the inflammable pond of passion. ‘Ah… I can’t. I’ll need to apologize to the other girls later. But I really can’t resist this adorable and beautiful being.’ 

Still, she had enough rationale left to ask. Her green eyes shone with deep emotions as she asked while stroking Liu Shu’s sensitive body. “Love… I want to prove to you that I love you.”

Feeling Verdantia’s hands become increasingly restless, Liu Shu’s heart raced. “H-How are you going to prove it?”

Verdantia laughed, using her tall body to pin Liu Shu below her. “How else, love? I’ll prove it to you by becoming one with you. I’ll give you my everything, and we’ll become one entity through our connected bodies.”

Those words made Liu Shu’s face burst with shyness. Usually, she would’ve probably tried to stop Verdantia by using different parts of her body. However, the strange feelings when Elu and Verdantia were interacting changed her mind. Liu Shu wanted to mark not only Verdantia but also the other three. She would ensure everyone understood that those four were hers and only hers. 

Verdantia felt a small change in Liu Shu’s eyes. They were filled with innocence like before, but now, that innocence was covered with lust, love, possessiveness, and desire. The gaze was so penetrating that the Life Sylvan felt her insides squeeze, as if they were preparing for what was about to come. 

Liu Shu hugged her neck and kissed her lips, making all of Verdantia’s flowers bloom on her hair, adorning the green locks with their beauty. She whispered softly, “Take off your clothes… It feels embarrassing otherwise…”

Verdantia’s eyes curved with a sly look. “Help me then. You must give kisses everywhere that’s revealed, okay?”

The green-jade-haired, purple-eyed girl felt a wave of embarrassment spread in her body, making her toes curl. Still, she obediently nodded with eyes dripping with love. “Okay…”

Verdantia tasted her lips lovingly. “I love you.”
