The morning sun poured through the glass panels of Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport, painting the terminal in soft gold.

The steady hum of travelers filled the air — rolling suitcases, murmured goodbyes, and the occasional crackle of announcements echoing across the concourse.

Near one of the boarding gates, two figures stood facing each other — Lucretia Zola and Asahi Aito.

The witch’s violet eyes were calm, though faint traces of reluctance lingered in them. Her usual confident smile was softer today, almost wistful.

“Are you sure you’re going?” Lucretia asked quietly, folding her arms. “I don’t mind taking care of you a little longer, you know.”

Asahi gave a small chuckle, his travel bag slung over one shoulder. “I appreciate it, Lucretia-nee, If I stay little longer I might get carried away with your spoiled but I have to go back. Someone’s waiting for me at home.” Thinking of it, Grandma Chiyo and Grandpa Ichorou called me everyday to go home, especially Shizuka-chan.

Then he bowed — deeply, sincerely.

“Thank you for everything. For teaching me, for feeding me.”

Lucretia’s lips curved into a small smile. “You’re such a polite boy. I’m going to miss your cooking, though.”

That made Asahi grin, scratching his cheek in mild embarrassment. “Don’t worry, Lucretia-nee. It’s not like this is goodbye forever. You have my contacts and my flying golem, you can chat me again so I’m sure We’ll meet again — I promise.”

For a moment, the witch said nothing. Then she nodded once, firmly.

“Make sure you keep that promise.”

Asahi turned toward the gate, the boarding pass in his hand trembling slightly. He looked back one last time.

Lucretia stood there, her long purple dress fluttering gently in the air-conditioning, her hand raised in a calm wave.

He smiled. “I will. Goodbye, Lucretia-nee.”

And with that, Asahi walked toward the boarding gate — his footsteps steady, yet his heart strangely heavy.

Asahi turned toward the gate, boarding pass in hand.

For some reason, a sudden thought crossed his mind.

He’d never actually checked Lucretia-nee’s status before, had he?

A plane began to move, cutting across the blue Sardinian sky — carrying the boy who had changed her world, if only for a short while.

The sliding doors opened with a whoosh, letting in the soft evening air of Tokyo.

Travelers poured through the arrival gates, but one familiar voice rose above the noise.

“Asahi!”

He turned toward it — and there they were.

At the waiting area stood Grandpa Ichirou, tall and straight despite his years, waving enthusiastically the moment he saw him.

Beside him, Grandma Chiyo waved both hands with a bright smile, eyes glistening. Just infront of them, Godou Kusanagi

and Shizuka stood together — Godou grinning like always, Shizuka beaming with excitement.

“Asahi-nii!” Shizuka called again, practically bouncing. “Over here!”

He couldn’t help but smile as warmth filled his chest.

“I’m back! Grandpa! Grandma! Godou! Shizuka-chan!” he called, rushing toward them.

The reunion was instant — Grandpa Ichirou’s hearty laugh, Grandma Chiyo’s fussing hands checking his face, Godou’s teasing grin.

“You’ve grown again, huh?” Grandpa said proudly looking at Asahi his presence change he became more cheerful than he was.

“Did you eat well? You look so lively!” Grandma added, voice trembling slightly.

Asahi laughed, scratching his cheek. “Hehe, I guess you could say I had some good meals.”

Godou crossed his arms. “You sure took your time.”

“Yeah, Sorry for the wait” Asahi replied softly, looking at them all — the family, the warmth, the ordinary life he’d missed.

“But… I’m back.”

They all began walking toward the exit together, laughter echoing through the bustling airport.

Asahi smiled faintly to himself in his inner thought,

“Yeah… this is it. The peace I’ve been longing for.”
