Normal architecture would never be able to build such absurd stairs, at least, not with the architectural level of the old civilization.

Some of the stairs even appeared surreal. They might look like a real flight of stairs, but as they extended towards the wall, a new flight of stairs opened up and it was difficult to tell whether the stairs that opened up at the wall were real or just a realistic 3D painting.
