The fight between the mysterious Void Creature and the Young Dragon Patriarch continued…

At the start, the young patriarch undoubtedly has the upper hand. The void creature was unable to keep up with him in either strength, speed, or size. The majestic dragon trampled repeatedly on the void creature, again and again. But no matter how many times he attacked, the accursed creature just won’t die.

Its tenacity was aggravating. It’s like a cockroach that just refuses to die. What’s even more terrifying is that the longer the fight went on, the better this creature got at adapting. The things that hurt it earlier couldn’t even faze it now. The young patriarch needed to exert more effort and power in his attempts to kill this thing.

Everybody who’s watching felt chills watching all of this unfold. They never could have imagined that void creatures have the ability to adapt. Whether this was a common trait for them or a unique one for this specific voice creature is unknown for now. However, they do hope that it’s the latter because if it’s the former… it would just be unfair.

“Useless. All of this.”

“Within Mother’s embrace, I am eternal.”

Cedric’s translation would echo in their ears whenever it was available. His voice was kept flat and uncaring, but the content of each translation still chilled him to the bones.

It’s without a doubt at this point that without Cedric, they would’ve most likely underestimated what they’re witnessing here. His translations gave them context and clues about the abilities of this void creature, and their discoveries, so far, were equally enlightening and terrifying.

It’s almost confirmed that this creature was unkillable so long as it’s within the Void, which is the ’Mother’ that it’s been referring to all this time. Additionally, it kept raving about this ’Prince’ and how it yearns to be one of its loyal servants. One that is to follow the ’Prince’ when he goes on the pilgrimage to swallow the Primordial Chaos and return everything back to what it has always been, the Eternal Silence.

The labored breathing of the Young Dragon Patriarch was heard by everybody who was watching. It hasn’t even been long since the fight started, yet he’s already reduced to this state.

It’s just unfair. His opponent was functionally immortal since they’re fighting in the void. It has an overwhelming field advantage, and he was utterly alone. The void was unforgiving to a living creature like him, making everything he does more laborious compared to when he does it within the Primordial Chaos.

Moreover, it’s not like he was holding back. In fact, the young patriarch had gone all out since the start. He was determined to bring this creature down with him. He didn’t even think that he was going to survive this. From the moment he sealed the gates behind him, he was already determined to die dragging this thing down with him.

What’s frightening is that the Young Dragon Patriarch was just shy of a step away from the Cosmic Lord Realm, meaning that he’s near the peak of Life Evolution as the alliance knows it. Yet even his overwhelming strength wasn’t enough to deal with this creature. It endured his best means and adapted to them in a snap of a finger. It was truly and utterly unfair.

“Damn!” The Young Dragon Patriarch swore. “It seems that this thing is really determined to get me, huh?”

His words weren’t a coincidence or anything else. He had actually guessed the aim of this creature as he fought it. He knew that this creature was planning to ’harvest’ him in some way, shape, or form. Why? It never became clear to him, but he understood that he can’t let it get what it wants no matter what happens.

It was at this point that something shifted in his surroundings.

“Stay back, you lot. This is my prey. I found it first. It’s mine.”

Obviously, the Young Dragon Patriarch understood none of what it said, but he didn’t have to.

The fact that he could see several shadows looming over in the distance, seemingly and tentatively observing the situation here, already gave him a clue of what’s happening.

“Opportunistic allies, huh? Well, this is bad.”

He could feel their stares, and suddenly he felt as if he was meat on a chopping block, hoping to get a good deal on him. Obviously, it felt unpleasant. It would be weird if he’s flattered about this after all.

The audience shivered as they saw this. Since they’re watching everything through the Young Patriarch’s point of view, they also saw the blurred silhouettes of those that were attracted by the fight.

There are at least nine of these figures. In the young patriarch’s eyes, they were like shadows with pale eyes observing him from a distance. And each one was just as strong as the one he’s facing now. Some were even stronger.

“This is mine. This is my chance. I will present this to Mother. Leave. Scram.”

The wails of the young patriarch’s enemy echoed in everybody’s ear, followed by Cedric’s translation. It was clear that the many-eyed and many-mouthed creature didn’t want to share its exploits with others.

Then, under everybody’s watch, one of those blurred silhouettes came closer, allowing the Young Patriarch to see it clearer.

It was a winged void creature. It closely resembled that of the Harpy Race; however, this one had way bigger wings. Each beat of its wings left a trail of void air. Also, its body was covered with thick and pulsating veins with little tiny mouths. It also has hundreds of eyes lined on its exposed brain.

[Let me help you with this.]

[Fuck off! I don’t need your help! I can handle this by myself! I know what you’re trying to do! Scram, or else I’ll make you regret it!]

[Hey, why are you being so mean? I just want to help!]

[Fuck you! You’re not fooling me again with your fancy words! You’re a fucking liar! I will never trust you again!]

[Alright, fine! Suit yourself! Good luck trying to chase them off. Unlike you, I’ve already proven something to Mother.

[Something that should’ve been mine, you shameless whore! If you hadn’t stolen my credit, I could’ve been serving next to Mother and waiting for the Prince’s birth! You’re fucking lucky that mother only looks at the result and not the process, or else it will never be your turn to be a Royal Guard of the Prince!]

“Dawnbringer!” Chief Blackwood exclaimed in horror. Even behind the visor, he could see that Cedric’s nose was bleeding and that he just coughed out blood.

“I’m fine, Chief. I can continue.” Cedric’s voice sounded raspy.

Yes, he did feel uncomfortable. Especially since the power of the Void’s Language was proving a little too much for the current him to handle. But he could still persist.

The others, and yes, this includes the chancellors themselves, are also worried about him. At this point, they already recognized Cedric’s value to the entirety of the Border Patrol Guardians as a whole. Therefore they are looking after him too.

But the memory replay was still playing in the background, and the tension between that one void creature and the others was reaching its climax.

[You lot are shameless! You’re all looking to steal my prey! Fuck all the way off! Go back to where you came from! I’m not sharing! I swear to mother that if any of you dares to steal from me again, I will devour you!]

Its provocative words caused a reaction from the observers from afar. It was clear that they all wanted to see if this one could follow through on its threats because once they heard it say this, they all came closer one by one.

And since they came closer, it also allowed the young patriarch to see them better. And without any exceptions, every single one of them was just as monstrous as the next. Nightmare fuels, the lot of them.

Just their appearance alone is sufficient to make anybody shiver or induce nightmares. And what’s even more terrifying is their strength, something that certainly won’t lose out even to the young patriarch’s peak state. Hell, a few were even stronger than him.

A guttural screech of pure hatred and malice came out of the many-eyed and many-mouthed blob. Without a single ounce of hesitation, if followed through its words, revealing just how truly horrifying it was.

The tentacles all over its body turned into serpents of titanic scale, swallowing those who dared to come closer despite its warning, in a single gulp. Every single mouth on its body began chewing audibly, making bone-crunching noises that caused everybody who was watching to wince.

Seeing this made everybody realize, to their horror, that the Young Dragon Patriarch never stood a chance to begin with. His opponent never took him seriously in the first place. It only wanted to ’harvest’ him to become an offering to the void and turn into nourishment for the ’Prince.’

And so, upon realizing this, all hesitation from the Young Dragon Patriarch disappeared.

He decided to blow himself up.
