“You really think you can beat me? I don’t advise a battle since that’s not what I want,” Silva insisted, calming Kael’s attempt to fight.

Kael thought Silva had been the one who had seen him tearing Aldric apart and was looking to use him as an asset. However, unknown to him, Silva’s statement was as straightforward as it sounded. He had no ulterior motives.

“How am I supposed to trust you?” Kael’s voice was tinged with suspicion. After all, if Silva wanted to report him, he could do it to the officials with no risk to himself. “If you report me, nothing bad is going to happen to you…”

Before Kael could finish, Silva grabbed him firmly by the shirt and pulled him close.

“If it were up to me, trust me, I wouldn’t even think about ratting you out to the officials. But just because of Gabriel’s warning, I’ll overlook this—for now! You get that, you filthy wrench! Next time, I’ll screw it right into your skull!” Silva growled before shoving Kael away and storming out of the classroom.

Kael stood there for a moment, processing the entire situation. I guess this time I’m being saved by luck, not wits.

But he knew it wouldn’t be long before Aldric’s body was discovered, and the odds of Kael escaping the murder case were extremely low.

As though his day couldn’t get any worse, a new notification popped up before his eyes.
