Alex clenched his fists as he kept staring at the man in the mirror, who screamed “DELINQUENT” without even opening his mouth. He sighed, pulling off his baggy t-shirt and studied the rest of his body.
“Well…. This might not be the worst thing in the world…”
Alex rubbed the rock-hard abs, and scratched his thick blonde hair as he admired the pure beauty of his new body. Slim, yet powerful muscles everywhere, and very clear skin throughout that was marred only by a dragon tattoo that started on his left chest and covered the upper left arm. It looked cool, but wasn’t ideal.
Handsome face? Check
Awesome body? Check
Big PeePee?….. Check
For a guy who would NTR the protagonist in some routes, this much was a given. If you ignored the very obvious “I’m gonna beat you up” vibe he gave, the rest was not bad at all.
“No, nononononono. I can’t get distracted, this is one of the worst starting points for a transmigration. If these memories are true, it’s already one month into the the freshmen year of high school and, ‘surprise surprise’, I’ve already got a terrible reputation!”
Reiji had already started bullying some of the kids, punched a guy for no reason other than egoism, and had even conflicted with one of the heroines, the student council president. Adding on the fact that he had a fallout with his terrifying dad and moved out of his home, Alex felt like pulling his hair out.
“Excuse me devs, I’m pretty sure I complimented you, so why the fuck did you do this to me!”
….Obviously, he got no response. He sighed for what felt like the 100th time and went back to his bed where he promptly threw himself onto it. He started to think about what he would do now, what his future would be like.
‘Is this the ‘spice’ the game wrote at the end?’
For starters, he was going to stop all the idiotic shit the previous Reiji was doing and live a normal life. If no one looked to trouble him, he was content with being a loner yet again in this new life (though it would be a lot worse), so he wasn’t overly worried about school life in general.
As for the main story….. Since he wasn’t going to act as an antagonist for the most part, he had no idea how that would impact the events that included him. Maybe they would just not be a factor and simply disappear? Who knows. He’d find out soon anyway.
He didn’t plan on interfering with the protagonist or the heroines either, mainly because of his background. He liked the characters too much, and he knew if he tried to become friends with them (which would probably be impossible in the first place), they would be bothered by any business or backlash from interacting with the heir of a syndicate. His family had quite a bit of enemies after all.
In fact, in his 100th playthrough, Alex had recruited Reiji’s enemies to destroy the Yagami Syndicate. It shows that there are plenty of people willing to hurt the people around him just to get back at his family.
Alex surfed the various new memories in his mind to get a better grasp at his situation. He tried to remember everything about his family and any other details that could help him acclimate into this new life that he had begrudgingly come to accept. He had no real ties to his past life anyway, no real friends, parents who died in a car crash, and no major inheritance that he would miss. Just his uncle who he lived with after he became an orphan, but they barely talked anyway.
“Hmmm, this is surprising….” Alex muttered as the details became clear.
The Yagami Syndicate…..wasn’t too bad. Don’t get it mixed up, they were still criminals who handled the black market and illegal dealings, and used threats, violence, and bribery to keep their power at the top. The worst of it was smuggling goods such as vintage alcohol, unlicensed books, banned technology, medical supplies etc. and offered a ‘Protection Service’ to businesses, where they collected money from businesses and kept them safe from loan sharks, street ‘rats’, and oppressive external forces.
It sounds like a pretty decent gang doesn’t it? But if they only did that there’s no way they would be so powerful or feared. To keep their reputation, they often went too far in their protection services, often leading to deaths or hospital visits for the victims. Since the money they earn is substantial, yet not enough at the same time, they also run some legitimate business with some illegitimate administrative methods that give them an edge over competitors.
At the heart of all of this power, is Yagami Daichi, Reiji’s father and the King of the Syndicate. He’s a terrifying person with strong offensive specs and even higher leadership qualities that keeps the operation running and controlling the members from going too far.
According to Reiji’s memories, he had a terrible relationship with his father. He saw him as a scary but meddlesome old man who only sees him as a successor and nothing else. But Alex, who had an objective view and knowledge of the game’s events, knew it was a little different.
Although Daichi was a cold man, he truly cared for Reiji, hence he always went overboard when it comes to disciplining him. He was a great leader, but because of that he raised Reiji from the perspective of a leader and not a father. He rarely gave him warmth, only focusing on teaching him combat and syndicate related stuff, forgetting that he was a parent.
In the game, the syndicate and his father never gave up on Reiji, sticking with him through thick and thin. This eventually caused them to detonate in multiple routes, but also showed just how much he was cared for.
‘No wonder this trash turned out to be trash…His intentions were good, but his methods made Reiji into an arrogant, egotistical, and wrathful youth.’
Before Alex took over, they had argued over the terrible stuff he was doing, like beating up innocent people and extorting the weak, which led to Daichi kicking out his son and limiting his allowance.
“Is this Daddy of mine stupid? What kind of punishment is it when you give him a luxurious private apartment, 300,000 yen per month (approx. 2000 USD), and almost no supervision???? No wonder he became worse and worse!”
Another reason why Reiji had started acting out this much was his mom’s death five years ago and Daichi’s second wife causing a lot of problems behind the scenes in order to gain more power for her own son within the syndicate.
Yes, second wife, not his new wife. Polygamy was legalized in this world because the ratio between men and women was 35%-65% respectively, which was a setting that the devs probably added to make the harem ending for the protagonist more believable.
There were a lot of similar convenient changes to the world’s regulations, laws, and common sense to make the plotline more immersive and realistic, which actually did set the game apart from some of the substitutes in the market.
After all, why on earth would multiple top-class beauties marry the same guy if such a thing wasn’t normal in the first place?
Anyway, Daichi’s second wife also had a son who was a year older than Reiji, but since she had brought him into the family from a previous relationship and wasn’t blood-related to the Yagami Family, he had no chance for succession.
This made her steer Reiji in the wrong way behind the scenes, such as looking down on him, encouraging bad behavior, and even spoiling his name internally within the syndicate. All of this, just so that Daichi would have no choice but to hand over the inheritance to her son.
Of course, this dumbass Reiji never told Daichi about this because of his pride, ignorance, and overconfidence. Alex had therefore recruited the second wife and her son in multiple playthroughs for the protagonist, to help deal with Reiji as a transaction.
Nevertheless, Alex finally started to calm down as his memories settled and he realized his situation wasn’t so bad. He had a good body, a father who cares but has questionable methods, a stepbrother who he might be able to pawn of the position of heir to, and is one of the richest families in the country. The drawbacks weren’t too bad when compared with the advantages. Thankfully, Reiji hadn’t done anything irreconcilable yet, both at school and with his family.
The physical violence was likely the crux of his current predicament. The fight where he punched someone happened just yesterday, so it would be fresh in the minds of the students. When Alex would go to school, there will definitely be an ‘uncomfortable’ vibe to say the least.
The main issue was what he would do in the future, as he had no plans to takeover the syndicate but also knew his father would not let him do anything else.
That was a problem for the very distant future though, and he decided to simply accept that this was his new life. Today was Saturday, so he still had 2 days to fully adjust before school started again, giving him enough time to make some changes to his ‘persona’.
“There’s absolutely zero chance I’m walking around with this hair”
Although his hair was thick, fluffy, and healthy it was dyed blond and shoulder length. The cherry on top was that Reiji used a TON of oil to slick back his hair because he thought it looked ‘cool and intimidating’, but it simply gave him a greasy look. His wardrobe was also terrible, filled with designer clothes with mismatching colors that made him look more like packaging on a juice box instead of a handsome young man.
In fact, Reiji had a bright orange suit in his closet that said the word ‘cool’ all over it that he often wore for high-end parties. He also had a ripped leather jacket that was highlighted by authentic crocodile skin and wolf fur, which he liked to wear at informal events.
Therefore, his first order of business was to get his hair cut, then dyed back to black, and buy clothes that wouldn’t make him feel like diving through the top window of a building.
“Let’s do this, don’t worry Ale-…. No, I guess I should call myself Yagami Reiji now.”
Reiji smacked his cheeks with both hands and stood up with energy, ready to take on the new world around him.
But just as he was about to freshen up-
