Arthur floated silently above the massive Chimerian battleship he had taken control of. And with a simple snap of his fingers, the warship beneath him roared to life. Its cannons, once aimed at the human fleet, pivoted towards their own fleet.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
A volley of energy beams erupted, slamming into the two remaining Chimerian battleships. Arthur’s gaze didn’t waver at the onslaught between the battleships. Now with four against two, it forced the Chimerians into a defensive position.
Due to him using his Technopathy forcefully earlier, its level had increased by another, now not only its range had increased by a lot, but he can also control any machinery much easily that could have put some resistance against his intrusion.
With a single mental command from Arthur, the battleship sped towards the other enemy battleships. He rode atop it as if it were an extension of his own body, the stars streaking past him while energy beams streaked past the empty space.
Arthur’s eyes narrowed as he saw a few antimatter bombs speeding towards his direction. His Technopathy brushed against them, seizing control in a second. The bombs stuttered in their trajectories mid-flight, and then spun back toward their own fleet.
A blossom of fire ripped through space, consuming two corvette squadrons in an instant.
It didn’t take him much time to reach another battleship, its cannons blazing in a desperate bid to repel him. Arthur stretched out his palm, his Technopathy latching onto the ship’s cyber space.
The firewall tried to push him back but his will smashed through them, until the vessel was his to command. Its turrets swiveled towards the last remaining battleship, as once again, Arthur added another titan to his growing fleet.
Now with two battleships in tow he started to dispatch payloads after payloads on the last remaining battleship.
Within minutes, all three Chimerian flagships fell under his control, their cannons deactivated while the UFE fleet swept through the smaller corvettes like wolves tearing apart a herd.
After that he controlled them and followed the human fleet towards the planet, he parked the three massive vessels just outside the planet’s atmosphere after securing every system on the battleships so that the Chimerians would be unable to take back control of the battleships.
And just like that they repeated their infiltration of the base taken over by the Chimerians. The fleet regrouped, as dropships swarmed toward the occupied planet. Once more, ECHOs stormed a base, their black armor cutting through Chimerian soldiers with ruthless attacks.
Arthur stood at the base’s edge, his visor reflecting the ECHOs carrying out their tasks.
An hour later, after waiting for the backup to arrive to guard the planet. The fleet jumped again towards their last mission location.
…
The Last Sector
Space stretched, then snapped back into focus as the fleet exited warp. Arthur had also taken the three Chimerian battleships he had taken control of. The three Chimerian battleships, still under his command, exited warp along with the human fleet. Their cannons were ready to fire at his signal. Immediately alarms blared across every human vessel.
On the opposite side five Chimerian battleships waited for them. The system’s defensive fleet appeared much larger, tighter, and far more prepared than the previous two.
The tension was palpable between the two fleets, the human fleet didn’t attack immediately seeing the enemy not firing.
…
Inside the Chimerian Flagship
The command deck was tense, a haze of crimson light from the alarm washing over the crew. A Chimerian commander knelt behind a throne which looked like it was made out of obsidian, his one knee pressed into the deck, and his head bowed low as he reported to a dark figure who sat facing the viewport of the command deck.
“Leader, it appears… the humans have somehow taken control of three of our battleships.” He paused for a moment to carefully choose his next words and said,. “Should we… attack them?”
For a long moment, there was absolute silence on the deck.
The figure seated in the command chair did not answer. He stared out the viewport, his face hidden in the shadows, his presence suffocating the others. Then, he slowly rose from his seat.
His boots echoed against the deck as he strode out of the command deck, his towering frame rigid with authority. The crew heaved a sigh of relief as he left.
The commander who was following behind him asked again, his throat tightening with tension. “Leader…?”
The dark figure didn’t look back. He stopped at the docking bay doors, finally speaking. His voice was low and deep, carrying an edge that silenced every soldier there.
“There is no need to attack.”
He turned his head just enough for the commander to see the crimson glow burning in his eyes.
“I will deal with the anomaly myself.”
Immediately as he finished speaking red energy crackled across his skin, racing along his limbs until his entire form blazed like a living inferno. The deck started to vibrate due to his presence.
The commander swallowed hard, pressing his head lower. “…As you command.”
Without another word, the figure launched forward. The docking bay’s shield opened up for him, and then he was gone, streaking across the space like a meteor, straight toward the human fleet.
…
Arthur, who already came out of the Vanguard after arriving here, looked towards the Chimerian fleet, his body hovering against the backdrop of stars. He was scanning the enemy formation when a movement caught his attention.
A streak of crimson shot across the space, weaving past Chimerian battleships like a comet wrapped in fire. The figure didn’t appear to be a shuttle or a missile, but a living being.
Arthur’s brow furrowed as the fiery presence stopped in the middle of the battlefield, its aura illuminating the space around it. He moved forward immediately, intercepting the figure.
Within moments, they were only a hundred meters apart, two lone figures suspended in space while fleets watched from a distance. The battlefield seemed to still itself, and the silence was becoming oppressive.
Arthur inwardly muttered, ‘Analyze’
Data scrolled across his vision, and what he saw made him pause.
//——————–//
[STATUS]
Name: Vorthane Krax
Designation: Champion Of Typhon
Age: 324
Height: 6’8″
Energy: 6.2 Million Units
Strength: 1.245 Million Tons
Speed: Mach 184
//——————–//
“…He is stronger than me.” He muttered under his breath.
The energy the figure radiated felt somewhat similar to mana, but it appears to be corrupted with something twisted, something infused into it that made his instincts scream at him. The system labeled him as a Champion of Typhon. Arthur figured it might be the name of the unknown entity he saw from the memories of Vorsk.
Arthur sighed slowly and prepared for a tough fight, his visor reflecting the crimson energy covering the figure in front of him. He looked towards the figure and saw he was also observing him.
The figure tilted his head, finally speaking through the open channel. His voice was sharp and cold, but carried a smug undertone. “Human, you are different from the rest of your pathetic race. Join us… join our god in his conquest.”
Arthur blinked in surprise, he hadn’t expected an offer from the enemy. His voice remained flat as he asked, “And why should I join you?”
He didn’t know the real reason why the figure was offering something like that to him. But from his words it appears it was due to his strength.
The figure let out a chuckle, muffled beneath his helmet. He spread his arms wide as if to show Arthur the space around him, while the crimson fire covering him burned brighter.
“This universe will eventually belong to our god. If you join us, you will be given unimaginable wealth… power… women of your preference.” His tone turned grand, as if he was promising some divine fortune. He raised a hand toward Arthur in invitation. “So join us, and be part of something far greater than your life,” and waited for Arthur’s reply.
Arthur stared at him, staying silent for a bit longer. Then he tilted his head slightly. “…Nah. I’ll pass.”
The figure froze hearing Arthur’s rejection, then he narrowed his eyes. The smile under his helmet finally vanishing. “You will regret this, human.”
Arthur got ready as he coated his whole body in golden Chi, illuminating the space around him. His aura clashed against the red aura of the Champion, the two energies sparking where they touched.
Then they moved at the same time.
Both blurred forward, closing the gap in an instant. Their fists met each other’s body with a thunderous impact that rattled even the battleships far away. If the clash had happened on a planet’s surface, it would have erased a city in the blink of an eye.
[A/N: Shockwaves can travel through space as space is not completely vacuum. There might be some particles, due to the presence of gas or other substances, and using that as medium shockwaves can travel.]
Arthur’s body was thrown back several miles, tumbling before he steadied himself. His ribs cracked from the blow, though they knit back together instantly due to his regeneration. His armor groaned, a fist-sized dent with cracks spreading across his chest plate before nanobots swarmed to repair it.
The Champion barely shifted back, only a few meters, as he flared his aura in triumph. “You can’t win against me. I will give you another chance,” he said coldly. “Submit to our god.”
Arthur didn’t waste time chitchatting and again shot towards the figure, golden Chi flowing like a tidal wave from him. The Champion sneered as their fists collided once more.
‘So… this human really has some backbone.’ Vorthane thought, energy rippling around his form. ‘Fine… I’ll beat him half-dead and deliver him to our god. We have to figure out how this anomaly came to be.’
He thought he needed to figure out how Arthur could become so strong. It should be noted that the strength displayed by him was a gift from their god, so imagine his surprise when he heard that there was a human whose strength was nearly as comparable to the Champions of their god.
And that made him extremely dangerous.
The space between them lit up as they clashed again, their blows creating energy shockwaves even in space.
