Rowan walked behind Director Norris, who, from several meters away, respectfully called out, “Greetings, Directors!”

Peering past Norris, Rowan spotted Elder Bai flanked by six individuals.

Four of them wore crisp white suits and stood quietly behind two middle-aged men.

The first was slender, dressed in a traditional Chinese-style tunic. His features were sharp: a hooked nose, a gentle smile, and eyes that radiated a subtle, almost delicate charm.

The second wore a black suit. His stern expression contrasted sharply with the softness of the first. Muscles strained against the fabric of his clothes, and a noticeable scar etched along his chin gave him a fierce, battle-hardened presence.

From the moment Rowan laid eyes on them, he knew exactly who they were.

With a flick of his index finger, the card popped into the air.

It rose twenty centimeters before gravity began to pull it down.

At that precise moment, Rowan focused.

The card halted mid-descent, suspended perfectly still in the air.

Then, it began to spin slowly.

The onlookers watching every movement closely collectively widened their eyes.

But Rowan wasn’t finished.

With another subtle mental push, the card zipped across the vast hall, darting and weaving through the air with precision.

Then, like a bird returning to its nest, it glided smoothly back into Rowan’s waiting hand.

The two Directors exchanged glances, their expressions filled with satisfaction and excitement.

“Excellent. Elder Bai, begin the formal testing,” the scar-faced Director said.

A deep, echoing thud filled the hall.

The numbers on the machine’s screen jumped rapidly.

Though the Directors showed no visible reaction, a flicker of approval passed through their eyes.

This result far surpassed the threshold for an Intermediate Warrior.

“Very good. Let’s proceed to the next test,” said the gentle Director, smiling.
