Rumors spread fast in any pack.

The hall was thick with whispers. Low voices. Side glances. People pretending not to stare while staring anyway.

The second she walked out and locked the door, Sera opened the side entrance.

I simply removed the wedding dress and dropped it onto the floor.

By the time the screen went dark, the damage was already done.

Dale had stormed into the room where the footage was coming from. On the projection, we saw him shove the men aside and lunge at Melissa. His face was twisted with humiliation and rage.

Yenick opened his mouth.

The grand doors of the hall burst open.

She walked in like she owned the place.

“He doesn’t want to,” she said clearly.

The entire room turned.

Grant stood up so fast his chair scraped loudly across the floor.

“What are you doing here? I told you to stay away! Leave at once!”

Yenick’s face darkened, but he forced himself to remain composed.

“Ms. Lincy, we are over. If you’re here to congratulate us, you’re welcome. But if you’re here to ”

“You idiot,” Lincy snapped, cutting him off. “Do you really think she loves you? Or that the baby she’s carrying is even yours?”

A wave of whispers rippled through the crowd.

“The baby?”

“So that’s why the wedding was rushed.”

“Ah… that explains everything.”

Camilla’s face turned pale for just a second, but she quickly lowered her eyes and put on a fragile expression.

“Ms. Lincy, I know you dislike me. But what’s done is done. Please let it go.”

Her voice trembled just enough to seem innocent.

Fiona stepped forward.

“Lincy, why don’t you sit down and have some wine? We can discuss this privately later.”

But Lincy didn’t move.

She stood tall, chin lifted, gaze locked on Camilla like a predator scenting blood.

“Mrs. Hudson,” she said coldly, “isn’t the only reason Yenick is marrying her because of the child? What if that child doesn’t even belong to Yenick?”

“Lincy!” Fiona snapped. “Stop making accusations!”

“Get out!” Yenick barked. “Stop talking nonsense!”

But Lincy didn’t even look at him.

Her eyes stayed on Camilla.

“Ms. Morrigan,” she said slowly, “are you going to tell them yourself… or should I?”

“The child you’re carrying,” Lincy continued, her voice sharp and fearless, “is not Yenick’s. And the man you’ve been sleeping with is standing right here.”
