She held the suit up again, adjusting it against my chest with gentle hands. “This one would look good on you. Classic, but it’ll show off your build. Try it on?”

“Is your mom here?” I asked, a little surprised.

“Yeah, we came together. I’ll be back soon,” she said, giving me a quick smile before heading toward the elevator to the upper floor.

I was alone now. I picked up a few of the suits she had suggested and headed toward the fitting rooms at the back of the store.

There was a woman standing near the fitting area, clearly an attendant.

She looked to be in her early 50s, wearing the boutique’s uniform: a fitted black blouse and a pencil skirt that showed off her thick thighs openly.
