As they neared it, Ethan once again saw the massive mountain city emerge from the clouds. Encircled by tall, dark-gray walls, it appeared like a fortress carved into the side of the earth itself.

The winding stone barriers slithered like black serpents around the city’s perimeter, and at its heart, a colossal obsidian tower thrust into the sky with its spire piercing a crown of red-tinged clouds that curled ominously around it.

Nyx soon descended toward a remote, jagged stretch of the outer wall and landed silently outside the city’s perimeter.

The moment Ethan’s boots touched the stone, he realized their precarious location as he knew that a single misstep would have sent them plummeting into the yawning abyss hidden beneath the sea of clouds.

Though white and seemingly peaceful, Ethan knew all too well what lurked below—that unfathomable drop led directly into the dread-filled chasm of the Dark Devil Abyss.

They stood on a narrow ledge that was barely wide enough to support two people. And yet, there they were, currently fully relaxed while being locked in each other’s arms.

Ethan’s breath caught in his throat, not because of the height, but because of her.

Right now, Nyx’s body was pressed close to his, and as her chest heaved with every furious breath, her bosom rose and fell in a steady and unrelenting rhythm that seemed to hold all the world’s mysteries in Ethan’s eyes.

For once, she wasn’t armored, and that usual wall of obsidian steel that kept the world and him at bay was gone, and the contours of her real figure, always hinted at but never truly seen, were now right before him.

And this time… he could appreciate them with his own eyes.

His gaze was unintentional at first as it fell upon the rise of her chest, and he refused to look away.

They were simply perfect in their round and full shape while being unimaginably soft, unlike one would expect from such a tough dragon warrioress.

He had only felt them before in the dark room of his Master, under her covers, where imagination and feel replaced vision.

But now, the sunlight bathed her curves in an ethereal glow, and his eyes lingered very carefully, and as a result, Nyx noticed.

Looking up at him, she realised that this boy who had been a head smaller and only reached her chest now towered over her.
