Crimson stared up at Tyr with a grin.
Arin smiled slightly, her slight movement caught by Huevas sitting a few feet behind her.
‘From that little snicker she gave, she just smiled.’ Huevas raised a brow, ‘Don’t tell me… Tyr is going to destroy this entire damn place… this is precisely what we didn’t want.’
Race and Suyo, along with all of Section C, gawked up at Tyr’s ice-cold expression with shocked gazes.
Tyr’s eyes were slightly crazed, and widened just a tad bit too much to seem normal. His jaw was clenched, his face unforgivingly serious.
Huevas stared intently at Tyr with narrowed eyes, waiting for anything that was to seem dangerous.
To his surprise, Tyr stared back at him.
Huevas furrowed his eyebrows with confusion, quickly standing and walking up to the edge of the railings.
In a low tone, Tyr exclaimed, “Don’t you dare stop this fight. All I am doing… is using my power to its fullest extent. This is a real battle… I couldn’t give a damn about who the hell I’m entertaining right now.” His eyes were unwavering–not twitching or blinking even once.
Most of the crowd didn’t hear what Tyr had to say. Those that did were confused. Some recognized he was speaking to Huevas but weren’t sure of the reason.
Huevas took a step back and raised his chin. ‘What a mistake… this has been.’ He looked around at the crowd in the stands, ‘It’s true, a fight like this is meant to be real. Just because one fighter has an ability that’s too powerful, he shouldn’t be forced to not use it because some random people want to come and watch.’
Huevas’ gaze switched to Reana, who was observing the fight closely from her booth.
‘Reana Golda. She made a rookie move here, thinking we could make a mockery of this fight by caging Tyr like this. It was foolish on all accounts. I suppose she was blinded by the greed of publicity, and making one event like this give many rewards in the future. But… she accounted too much for the public side of things, and not enough on the actual fight. She made a good impression on a branch Captain to be given this position… but it seems she has still much to learn.’
Huevas exhaled, controlling his thoughts and emotions before staring back at Tyr’s eyes and nodding with a firm set of eyes.
On seeing this, the side of Tyr’s slightly open mouth pulled up slightly to form a half smirk.
His head turned to look at Crimson. Tyr felt throbbing pain radiate through his fractured arm and crushed hand. He felt the warm blood trickling down his cheek, and the rest of his body aching.
‘No one will get away with this. Harming my body at all… let alone to such a degree.’ Tyr said to himself before pausing.
…
‘I’ll kill you.’ As he finally thought this to himself, an explosion of bloodlust blasted out of him in the form of Ancestral Aura.
At once, the entire arena was trampled on by a colossal demon, which was Tyr’s killing intent.
Hundreds lost their consciousness due to the immense mental stress.
Thousands felt like their hearts had abruptly exploded in their chests.
They felt a weight crash down on their shoulders, slamming many hands and knees to the ground and many heads to prostrate.
Tyr’s presence was almost unexplainable. The mind was assaulted and ripped apart, the body boiled alive from the horrifying aura.
Shocked expressions were all that existed.
‘How…’
‘What is this?’
‘Please… I want to live.’ Many burst out into tears… as much as their frozen body allowed them to do so.
‘A demon…’
Even more powerful members of the Ten High Peak Faction felt the waves of Tyr’s Ancestral Aura.
“What in tarnation…”
“All have bowed their heads for this young man… his killing intent is no joke.”
“No… he is clearly far stronger than he leads on.”
Huevas’ eyes were wide with an almost invigorated look, “How powerful… how amazing.” He looked like he was trying to stop himself from bursting out into a peal of laughter.
“If we, the bystanding crowd, feel this type of way… I wonder how Crimson feels—who is the target of this aura.” As Huevas said this, he raised his hand:
“Go and fight!” He swiped his hand down as both Tyr and Crimson instantly disappeared.
The air felt normal again, allowing people to gasp for breath.
Hundreds screamed out with terror, crying and screeching as though they had nearly just died.
“What the hell was that!?”
“How dare he attack the crowd!”
“I thought I was going to die! Wahhh!”
“Damn it… is he really that strong!?”
After 10 seconds of looking out at the crowd, Huevas noticed a figure very quickly floating toward him:
“Sir! Please, why have you done this!?” Reana said in a frantic hurry, hopping down into Huevas and Arin’s viewing box after having ridden atop a small metal pad.
“The show… it’s ruined!”
Huevas didn’t hesitate to speak: “It was never a show to begin with.”
Reana was taken aback, almost at a loss for words, “B-but… then… why—”
Huevas answered for the question he knew Reana was going to ask: “At a certain point, the ones that need to be stopped are the audience, not the fighters. These two are putting their lives on the line out there. A rabbit is a weak, useless creature. And no matter how much you abuse it, it will never react. However… if you trap it in a corner without escape, it will fight like never before. The way one fights when it has no other choice, and when one can go all out, is completely different from a normal battle.”
Reana didn’t argue with the Vice Grandmaster, “I understand… however, I still want to get coverage for this battle. Even if it is just me and my camera… allow me to go and record.”
Huevas narrowed his gaze, “I sent them into the forest. Tyr will not hold back.”
Reana nodded with determination dancing in her eyes.
“The chance you will survive is less than 10%.”
Reana’s gaze did not waver on hearing that figure.
‘I see why Captain Heal chose her. She has potential, and grit… but something like this might even be a bit too foolish.’
“Fine.” Huevas said, “It’s your life, after all.” He swiped his hand, and before Reana knew it, she was surrounded by an eclipsing jungle.
Huevas sighed, sitting back in his chair.
Arin glanced at him: “What now?” She asked.
“Hm? What do you mean?” Huevas replied.
Arin smiled, “The string of fate. Who has cut it? And who had cut it back when you first brought it up?”
Huevas furrowed his eyebrows, “Oh… the string of fate, eh? Now, I don’t even know anymore. I thought I had some sort of idea on what these two young men were… but I don’t. Their power beguiles me…”
*BIZZ*
*BZZT*
Small sparks of electricity danced in the center of the arena—floating in the air.
*BEZZZOOO*
The sparks suddenly expanded into a large, transparent screen of Reana’s live camera coverage.
“Right now, I am flying above the wild jungle outside of the Immortal Peak… and trying to find the two fighters!”
She was hundreds of feet in the air. Wind flew by her and her small metal pad, making her voice extremely hard to hear.
The camera darted around several areas before finally zooming in on a certain part.
“That’s them!”
A person from the crowd exclaimed.
“Look! It’s them! They are standing right there!”
.
.
.
Crimson stood still with a look of shock on his face. His eyes were wide open, not blinking even once. “This killing intent you show me… it’s powerful.” He said, raising his hand slightly as he glanced at it.
At that moment, his hand was cut clean in half and severed.
Chills crawled up his back as he blinked, and the arm was back in place.
The chills crawling up his back transformed into a large tarantula, which stuck its fangs into his back and injected lethal venom.
For a second, Crimson’s eyes rolled into the back of his head, but he quickly firmed himself, ‘STOP! It’s only my imagination… my ima—ima…’ He could barely think.
Tyr clenched his jaw, “You will die for what you did to me.” He said in a cold tone, thinking to himself, ‘This is undeniably my most powerful Ancestral Aura…’
Crimson grabbed his head, feeling as though it was about to explode with thoughts.
‘It’s all fake. You are okay… so stop being scar—’
‘What did you say? What do you mean, you’re okay!? Look at you! Your entire body is trembling!’ Another one of Crimson’s own thoughts screamed back at him.
He was in fact not trembling, but when he looked, his body instantly began to tremble.
‘It’s true…’
‘Of course it’s true.’
‘It had to have been true.’
‘I’m scared.’
‘I can’t be scared if I want to win!’
‘This isn’t about winning or losing anymore! This is about surviving!’
‘I have to win this fight! STOP!’
‘I… am scared. I don’t want to die!’
Tyr’s thick killing intent had invaded Crimson’s mind, making him not just envision his fears, but also imagine a form of him that was scared.
He didn’t even know who was the true version of him. The one that wanted to win, or the one that wanted to survive.
Right as Crimson was about to crawl into a ball, a pink flame appeared inside of his brain once again—destroying all impurities and rebirthing his brain anew.
After tightly closing his eyes, he opened them again—fearless—before digging his feet into the ground and lunging at Tyr.
Ares abruptly summoned at that moment, unleashing a blast of fire right into Crimson’s face.
