“This is too fucking easy,” he said between laughs. “They’re all so desperate for a savior that they’ll take anyone who can play the part well enough.”

“Even though it makes me want to puke every time I do that, soon… when I’m strong enough, then I can take anything with force!” Rex said while clenching both his fists.

He sobered after a moment, his mind already racing ahead to next steps. Lily needed ten more points to reach her highest score.

Helena was making positive progress and might soon be ready for more direct manipulation. Diana was coming along. Even Evelyn was finally starting to trust him.

And Mara… she was all his, body and soul, and every time they have sex, she gives him desire energy to get every power he wants.

“Garrett’s gone fishing,” she said quietly as she walked toward the bed. “He won’t be back until morning.”

“So we’re by ourselves until the morning,” Rex said with a smirk.

“Yes… all… by ourselves.” She sat on the edge of the bed and took his hand. “How are you really doing?”

“Honestly? Better than I should be. The pain isn’t too bad right now.”

Rex understood that when Mara bit her lip, it signaled her preparation to say something forceful. “I was thinking that my room might be more comfortable than this small one…”

“The bed is bigger, the light is better, and…”

“And you want me to fuck you, right?” Rex said to her.

Rex began to respond when he heard footsteps on the stairs again. He and Mara both stopped and listened.

She sees Mara sitting on Rex’s bed, holding his hand, with the intimate atmosphere that filled the small room.

Lily’s hands shook a little as she stood there, looking innocent, weak, and completely devoted.

Rex smiled.
