Chapter 45: Borin’s Night Rest [+18]
Louvre heard the question and laughed genuinely. Most men grabbed or tried to buy this one asked. Rough hands maybe but with gentle eyes.
“Flattery from a dwarf. Just when I thought I have seen it all,” She paused.
Bending closer, she whispered. “I’m Louvre”
“Truth from a dwarf. That’s common.” He grinned.
He placed his hand on his chest. “You may call me Borin–”
“And this rascal right here,” he placed a hand on Auryn’s shoulder. “He’s Auryn..”
He paused with a grin.
“—Named after the prince but the lad is tougher than he looks”
Louvre took an interest on Auryn but only momentarily. She tried looking beyond the shadow of his cloak but he was able to avoid that by looking down like he was shy.
“N-Nice to meet Y-You” Auryn said.
Borin immediately claimed Louvre’s attention back.
“Aye, miss Louvre or is it mrs?”
Louvre smiled. She was taking longer on their table than expected. She waved and signalled for one of her employees to serve the table she had just left.
Her eyes soon came back to Borin. “You can just call me Louvre”
Borin immediately understood. Chugging down the last of Auryn’s Ale. He grinned, his eyes meeting hers but his head was just above her waist.
“if you met any dwarf before, you would know, we’re honest about what we like, miss Louvre.”
“And what do you like?” Louvre asked. Her eyes sizing him up.
Borin smirked. “Strong ale. Great company and beautiful women who don’t take shit from drunk laborers.”
Louvre leaned against the table. Eyebrows raised, close enough Auryn could smell lavender. The weight of her chest testing the weary table legs.
“And which am I?”
“All three in that order,” Borin smiled.
She let out a sweet laugh. Bringing eyes to to the table.
“Dwarves. Always honest about what they want.”
“Aye. Saves time.” Borin leaned back. “So. you serving drinks all night? Or you got plans after close?”
She looked at Auryn shortly and then at Borin. “Does that mean, you’re staying the night?”
“We are,” Borin answered with his gruff voice.
“Then you’ll need rooms”
“Of course,” Borin said. His voice was one of someone who had done this before. Definitely more than once.
There was a short spell of silence. Something unspoken passed between them.
“Both of you? Unless…”
“Unless?” Borin’s grin widened even further.
She leaned closer. Whispered something in his ear. Borin’s expression suddenly shifted. He was both surprised and pleased.
Borin picked up the plate of food and handed it to Auryn as he smirked.
“Why don’t we go see those rooms”
Auryn blinked. “What—”
Borin didn’t linger for a moment and instantly followed Louvre.
“The rooms we are staying in,” he said, looking at Auryn like get your ass up here.
They followed the woman, up the stairs to the second floor.
Borin’s eyes following her swaying hips. The elegance of her hips capturing the dwarf effortlessly.
Auryn on the other hand only observed. He did not want another incident like what happened in the stables.
They arrived at the room and she pointed at the door.
“You’ll like this one”
Auryn nodded. Eyes still wandering as he twisted the knob and walked in. He looked back to see Borin.
“You coming?” he asked.
“Eat and get some rest lad. Long ride tomorrow.” Borin said but he was already following the woman down the stairs.
Auryn’s mouth was opened. He didn’t even know what to say.
What just happened? He thought.
The room was small with a single bed, worn blanket, dust motes visible in the lamplight but clean enough he might just risk closing his eyes.
He waited. Expected Borin to come in any moment.
Minutes passed. Borin never arrived. Auryn lay still and listened to the tavern sounds below. Distant laughter and creaking floorboards.
There was no footsteps outside the door. Nor the familiar weight of Borin’s presence leaning against the wall.
He exhaled slowly, forcing his shoulders to relax.
It was his first time alone other than that time in the forest after the Chimera battle. But that was survival. This was… rest.
Without Borin, I’m just… exposed. He thought even as his hand drifted to the dagger under his pillow.
“Pathetic. I’m a dragon prince. I don’t need a bodyguard to sleep.” he murmured to himself but his fingers never left the blade.
He closed his eyes trying to calm his mind since things had become quiet in the tavern.
It wasn’t long when he heard something. A female moan. Muffled but distinct, seeping through the thin walls like whispers.
In the room to the right, Louvre’s chamber glowed dimly with candlelight, shadows wrapping across her voluptuous body.
She had stripped away her blouse and skirts, revealing curves that were simply beautiful, full breasts heaving with anticipation, hips wide and inviting, skin flushed under the dwarf’s hungry gaze.
Borin lay naked on the bed, his muscular body a map of scars and strength, his thick penis standing rigid, veins pulsing like a nuclear countdown.
He grinned up at her, rough hands gripping her thighs as she straddled him, lowering herself slowly onto his girth. The stretch made her gasp, eyes fluttering shut in ecstasy.
“Yeah. Right… there,” she breathed, her voice husky, rolling her hips in a rhythm that built like a raging storm.
Borin groaned deep, his gruff tone strained and satisfied.
“You’re a wild fire, darling.” His fingers dug into her soft flesh, guiding her deeper.
She rode him with reckless abandon, breasts bouncing, sweat glistening on her skin as she ground against him.
He thrust up to meet her, the bed creaking in protest, their bodies slapping together in raw union.
Louvre arched back, moaning louder, her auburn hair cascading like flames as pleasure coiled tight within her.
Auryn’s eyes opened as he listened further, the sounds painting vivid images he couldn’t shake.
The voice was familiar, “Louvre?” He recognized the tone immediately.
Then another sound, deeper and gruff. Borin’s voice, laced with raw satisfaction.
Auryn’s face flushed as understanding crashed down.
That’s why the bastard didn’t come in. He took her room. He’s fucking her.
Auryn sighed and pulled the blanket over his body. The dwarf was allowed to have fun. It was the first time he saw him outside the presence of nobles.
He is free-spirited and alive. Knows how to live. Auryn thought.
The sounds of pleasure continued for a while, moans and grunts echoing faintly, then faded into silence amidst panting breaths.
Auryn eventually slept. He wasn’t all that bothered other than the fact that he saw Lyra now, immediately he closes his eyes.
What a drag…that damn dwarf.
—–
Morning light broke through shutters. Auryn woke stiff-backed, having barely slept.
He descended the stairs slowly with half-expected awkwardness.
He came down to see Borin already sitting at a table, eating bread. Grinning like a man who’d conquered a mountain.
Louvre brought tea. Set Borin’s down first. Leaned close, close enough her chest brushed his shoulder.
“Sleep well?” she asked. Her voice low and Intimate.
Borin’s grin widened. “Like a baby. You?”
“Better than I have in months.”
She moved to Auryn’s side. Poured his tea without a word. Auryn stared at his cup, his ears were burning just listening to them.
I’m never traveling with him again. He thought as he took a sip.
Borin chuckled. “Something wrong, lad?”
“No,” Auryn answered flatly.
“You’re blushing.” Borin insisted.
“I’m not,” he retorted.
“You are.”
Auryn drank his tea and said nothing. Only rolling his eyes. Borin laughed even harder.
After breakfast. They walked out of the tavern. Prepared to travel.
“Safe travels,” Louvre said to both of them from the entrance.
“Appreciated beautiful.” Borin’s grin didn’t fade.
They soon mounted their horses and resumed the journey north. Auryn didn’t ask and Borin didn’t explain. Unspoken understanding between men.
The road stretched ahead. It was only a few more hours till they reached Aurelia.
By evening, the familiar walls appeared on the horizon.
Lyra would be waiting. Northern District deeds to review. Advisers to select.
This was work—real work.
Auryn rode through the gates as the sun set. There was no ash here but the familiar feeling of comfort.
And for the first time since Uruk, he felt ready for what’s to come.
