I pressed on the buzzer beside the door, “Hey, lunch is ready.”

There was a short moment of silence before the door slid open, revealing a confused Lanos behind the door.

Unlike how she was dressed when I met her where she was wearing the lab coat, this time she was wearing just a tank top and shorts which fully revealed her slim waist and curvaceous figure.

She definitely works out.

“Lunch? I didn’t think you’d actually prepare something for us…”

I shrugged, “You’re our guest now right? So of course we’ll have to take care of you.”

She made a face, “Is it going to be synthfood?”

I chuckled, “Yes.”

She let out a deep sigh but surprisingly she nodded, “Alright, fine… I’ll go. Are you going to call the others as well?”

Oh wow, she’s actually coming? I thought for sure she would just say no thanks and go back inside the room.

“Yes, I do plan on asking them as well. Would that be a problem?”

“No, I just thought that I would just come along and listen to their reactions to it. This should be entertaining. Give me a minute.”

The door closed and I waited outside patiently.

Not even a minute passed and the door opened again, revealing that Lanos had thrown a jacket over shoulders and slipped on a pair of pants while she was inside.

The fact that the jacket and pants were baggy and practically hid her figure was not lost on me and I suspect this was to hide herself from the other two guys.

“Alright… Lead the way.”

I turned and headed towards the rooms that the others had occupied, stopping at the one closest to me which I remembered one of the girls had chosen to stay.

I pressed on the buzzer and said the same thing as I did to Lanos and stood back to wait.

About a minute passed before the door opened, revealing one of the three female researchers standing at the doorway.

Her eyes darted to Lanos standing behind me for a moment before she shifted back to give me a quizzical look, “Lunch? What’s on the menu?”

“Synthfood,” Lanos answered for me.

Her face immediately scrunched up and she stuck out her tongue in disgust, “Ughh… Are you serious? Don’t you guys have any organic food other than that tasteless, bland slop? Anything would do.”

I didn’t even get to answer her because Lanos practically took over the conversation, “Do you think we’re still in the Inner Colonies? The fact that we even have food out here is already a miracle.”

Err… I wouldn’t go that far… In the first place, I don’t think the outer colonies are starving or destitute… Ok, I’m not sure about the second one but at least the places I’ve been to aren’t so poor that the majority of the people there aren’t able to afford synthfood at least.

But of course, I just kept my mouth shut instead of correcting her.

The other female researcher groaned, “I didn’t even bring my own food… Please tell me this wouldn’t be the case on the station too…”

Lanos shrugged, “Guess you better get used to it.”

“Damn it… Fine… Let’s go then.”

She stepped out of her room wearing just a casual shirt and pants as well as a pair of slippers.

I went over to the other room that the last female researcher was staying in and buzzed the door.

I waited… And waited… And waited…

Three minutes passed and I buzzed again but even then there was no response.

The other female researcher clucked her tongue, “She must be in that guy’s room.”

Lanos visibly rolled her eyes at that but said nothing.

I also decided to just not comment on it and went to the next door and buzzed the supposed occupants, telling them that lunch was prepared.

I heard a muffled thump coming from behind the door before the door was opened by that arrogant guy.

Behind him, I could see the other female researcher and even the other male researcher inside, both of them holding what looked like bottles of alcohol in their hands.

Seems like they were having their own private party here and these two weren’t invited.

He took one look at me and scoffed, “Not interested.”

The door then slid shut.

The other female researcher growled, “They didn’t even invite me?”

Lanos hid her smile behind her hand and looked away, clearly enjoying that suffering of her fellow colleague.

“What’s so good about that bitch?! Just because she has bigger boobs?!”

Her words made me look at her chest and well… It’s not that small… I would say probably a B or C cup so it’s not like she’ss flat or anything… But the other girl… I think she had a D at least.

Hey, at least this one has a nice ass.

I cleared my throat, “Ahem… Guess they aren’t joining us. Shall we go then?”

The other B cup– I mean… The other female researcher stomped her foot on the floor and huffed, “Fuck them! Let’s go! Who needs them?!”

I led the way to the dining room with the two girls, one of them fuming and the other one amused.

Waiting for us there was Amber, Lea and Mara. Ries had volunteered to eat her lunch on the bridge to make sure nothing goes wrong on our flight.

The three of them gave our two guests a polite nod until they realised that there was no one else behind us.

“Are the others not joining us?” Amber asked as I took my seat at the table.

I shook my head, “They’re having their own private party in the room and said they weren’t interested.”

“Ehehe~ That means more for us! Their loss~”

Lea stood up to help serve the stew from the pot placed at the centre of the table which caught Lanos’s attention.

“What’s that smell?” She asked, sniffing the air.

All of us also started sniffing but found nothing wrong.

I turned to her, “What smell?”

She sniffed again, “That smell… It smells so… Wait… It’s the pot?”

“Oh, you mean the smell of the stew? What about it?”

“I thought we were having synthfood, so what’s this?”

I’m not sure if she thought the smell was good or bad from her face.

I grinned at her, “You thought right. It is indeed synthfood except I cooked it.”

Both Lanos and the other researcher swivelled their heads to face me with wide eyes.

“You are a certified cook?” The other girl asked, suddenly excited.

“I didn’t attend an academy to get a cooking certificate if that’s what you’re asking. I’m self taught.”

“Oh…”

The two of them lost interest almost just as quickly after they heard that.

Unperturbed, Lea gave me the first bowl of stew before placing a bowl each in front of them.

Lanos’s brow furrowed at the bowl in front of her.

“What is this? It looks like some kind chemical hazard…”

I smiled at her, “That is stew. Which I made by combining several different synthfood together.”

She narrowed her eyes at me, “That sounds like a disaster.”

I shrugged, “Don’t say anything until you try it.”

The other female researcher pushed the bowl away, “Nah… I’m not putting that in my mouth.”

Lanos eyed her, “So you would rather go hungry instead?”

“Tsk… Anything but eating that. Is there anything else?”

I shook my head, “That’s the only thing I prepared for us to eat.”

“Come on, I’ll even just take synthfood from the packet instead of this.”

Amber leaned forward and shot her a look, “On this ship, food wastage is not allowed. Eat what you are given.”

“Aren’t you all eating then?”

“Guests first~” I lied, looking forward to seeing their reactions to my food.

Lanos turned to smile at her, “That’s right. You should eat up.”

The girl scowled at her, “What about you?!”

“I’ll eat after you do. Remember the time I took the fall for you when you misplaced the documents?”

The two of them stared at each other and the other researcher cave in first, “Fine, just one sip, then you have to do the same.”

Lanos said nothing but the other girl picked up the spoon and dipped it into the stew to bring it up to her lips.

She let it hover there for a moment before she sucked in a breath and opened her mouth to bite down on the spoon.

She then froze up and I thought that my food might be entirely disgusting to people from the Inner Colonies when she picked up the bowl and started shovelling the stew into her mouth with gusto, emptying the entire thing in a flash.

“What is this?! It’s so good! The best I’ve ever tasted, even! I want seconds!!”

Lanos frowned at her reaction and took a spoonful of the stew as well.

Her eyes then widened and she did the exact same thing, slamming down her empty bowl a few seconds later.

“Me too!! Please!! I must have more!!”
