Chapter 608: This Is Mutiny!

Before them was utter, organized chaos.

Dozens of racks were crammed with dresses of every color and style.

Sisters and maids hurried back and forth, helping one another into gowns, adjusting ribbons, fastening corsets, tying bows.

Aqua leaned toward her, whispering conspiratorially.

“And maybe get some free clothes while I’m at it.”

Cassius laughed softly, patting her head. “In that case, I have something prepared just for you.”

He reached to the side and picked up a folded gown—a beautiful, shimmering blue dress, laced with delicate patterns of silvery stars.

Tiny gemstones reflected the light like fragments of the night sky.

“This one’s yours.” He said, unfolding it. “See these constellations? I noticed how most of your ornaments and accessories have star motifs, so I worked them into the design.”

He pointed lightly across the patterns.

“Here, the Hydra constellation. and this one’s Felipa. Each one stitched with silver and crystal dust. What do you think?”

Aqua’s eyes sparkled like a child’s.

“Cassius…”

She breathed, taking the dress gently from his hands.

“I love it…I-I love it so much!”

She held it close to her chest, twirling slightly as though already wearing it.

“I knew anything you made would be good, but this…this is the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen!”

Cassius chuckled. “Originally.” He admitted with a slightly embarrassed grin. “I was going to make it a little more revealing, I thought the neckline should show off your, ah, natural elegance.”

Maria blushed furiously. “C-Cassius!”

“But.” He went on casually. “I realized you’re still a Sister of the Church, so I made it tight-fitting instead—no exposed skin, but it’ll still accentuate your figure perfectly.”

That was when Joy stepped forward, scowling fiercely.

“Absolutely not! There’s no way my mother is wearing that! It’s indecent, even worse than something revealing! That kind of fit will just—”

She cut herself off, cheeks reddening.

Maria, however, suddenly shoved her aside, surprising everyone.

“I’ll wear it!” She declared fiercely.

Joy gawked. “Mother!”

The sisters descended on her all at once, laughing and chattering as they tried to pull off her white robe. Joy’s outraged yells filled the room.

“This is sacrilege! You’re all going to regret this!”

“Hold her steady!” Someone called.

“Stop pulling, that’s holy fabric!” Joy shouted, kicking helplessly. “I swear by the Goddess, I’ll—!”

Before the situation could escalate, Isabelle stepped forward, grabbing Cassius by the arm.

“Alright, that’s enough for you.” She said, tugging him toward the door.

Cassius blinked. “Wait, what? Why? I spent hours on that gown! At least let me watch her try it on!”

Isabelle tugged him toward the exit. “Not a chance. You’re not seeing a single glimpse of that, Young Master.”

“Come on.” Cassius complained, his grin turning devilish. “After all that effort? That’s cruel.”

Isabelle smiled up at him, her voice dropping to a low, teasing murmur.

“Oh, I know it’s cruel. Completely unfair.”

She leaned in closer, her lips brushing his ear. ”

But if you really want to watch someone change…” Her eyes gleamed with hidden allure. “…you can watch me and half way through we can have some fun together.”

Cassius’s expression instantly shifted—from disappointment to that familiar, dangerous grin.

“…You should’ve started with that.”

He said smoothly, wrapping an arm around her waist as she laughed and led him to an area behind the stage.

Moments later, as the sisters continued forcing Joy into her gown amid her loud protests —

“Unhand me! This is betrayal of the highest degree! Heads will roll!”

—faint moaning noises began to echo from the far side of the backstage area, where Cassius and Isabelle had disappeared.

Some of the women glanced that way, faces flushing.
