Chapter 292: Celia’s Devious Nature

Morning sunlight spilled through the thin curtains, washing the room in soft warmth.

The faint scent of sweat and skin lingered in the air.

Alice lay against Isaac’s chest, her arms wrapped around him.

Both of them were bare beneath the sheets.

She didn’t look angry anymore, just quiet.

“I’m sorry,” she muttered, her voice muffled against his shoulder.

Isaac looked down at her. “For what?”

“For last night,” she said, still not looking up. “You must’ve hated how I acted. It’s always like this. I end up losing control and—”

“I love you the way you are,” Isaac interrupted, grinning faintly. “Besides, the makeup sex was pretty hot.”

He expected her to laugh.

Maybe roll her eyes or hit his chest lightly.

But instead, she leaned closer and began licking the small red love bites she’d left on his collarbone the night before to mark her territory.

Isaac blinked, his hand pausing halfway as he reached for her hair.

“But I hit you,” she said softly.

Isaac chuckled. “You call that hitting? That was a child’s punch. It didn’t even hurt.”

That earned him a quiet snort.

Her eyes curved slightly, the first real hint of expression he’d seen from her since waking up.

Her gaze regained a bit of their usual shine, though they still carried traces of guilt.

Isaac smiled to himself.

During their academy days, Alice had always tried to hide her obsessive side from him.

Though, it had been there in small gestures. The way she watched him during duels, the way she clung to his sleeve a second too long, the faint edge in her voice when other women approached him.

He had noticed those things long ago.

And if he was being honest, it was part of what made him fall for her.

’I guess I shouldn’t call her the mad princess anymore,’ he thought wryly. ’I’m pretty crazy myself for loving a crazy person.’

They lay there for a while.

Isaac began telling her about Emily’s trial, about what had happened in the ruins and the strange things he had discovered there to take Alice’s mind off the topic from previous night.

Alice listened quietly at first, then sat up slightly. “So Emily was able to talk to her parents?”

“Yeah,” Isaac said. “She finally got to say goodbye.”

“That’s good.”

Her voice softened at the word, but her expression turned distant.

For a moment, she wasn’t looking at him or the bed. Her gaze was somewhere else entirely.

He knew that look.

She was thinking about her own parents, who were long gone.

Before the silence stretched too far, Isaac spoke again. “Also, I found something big there.”

Alice turned to him. “What do you mean?”

He took a small breath. “Turns out all of us—me, you, Emily, and Celia—we’re demigods. The title ’Descendants of the Ancients’ confirms it.”

Alice froze.

“What?”

“Yeah. Apparently, that’s what it means.”

She sat up straight, completely out of his arms now. “You’re a demigod?”

“Yes,” Isaac said. “And so are you.”

She stared at him for a few seconds. Her expression was unreadable.

Then she stood up, stepping off the bed and onto the cold floor.

“Isaac,” she said, her tone suddenly serious. “How much do you think I care about my pride?”

He frowned, caught off guard by the out of the blue question.

“…As much as you love your family?”

“Yes,” she said. “Exactly. I’ve always thought I’d never do anything that would tarnish my pride. At least, that’s what I used to believe.”

Isaac opened his mouth to respond, but the words died when she lowered herself to her knees.

“Alice—”

Before he could stop her, she bowed, touching her head to the ground.

“Alice, what are you doing?”

“Isaac,” she said softly, her voice trembling just a little, “I know you’ll refuse, but please—be my… kya!”

Alice let out a small yelp as her body lifted off the floor.

Isaac used a bit of telekinesis to pull her back to the bed, sitting her down between his legs.

His arms wrapped around her curvy waist as he leaned forward, resting his chin on her shoulder.

“If my wife wants something from me,” he murmured against her ear, “she can say it directly. Of course, if she coddles to me, or acts coquettishly to make me agree then that’s even better. I’m happy to get an ’extra service.’”

He kissed her neck lightly, his tone growing firmer as he added, “But don’t ever do something like that again. Don’t bow your head like that.”

Alice looked back at him, surprised by how serious he sounded. “Isaac—”

“Am I clear?” he asked quietly, not harshly but with a kind of weight that left no room for argument.

She hesitated, then nodded.

“Good,” Isaac said, his tone softening again. “Now tell me what you were trying to say.”

“It’s about my Class,” she said, shifting slightly so she could face him. “I got an SSS+ rank Class. But the condition to unlock it requires serving a god or a demigod. I didn’t want to serve anyone, so I’ve been trying to get another Class. I thought you’d tell me to take it anyway.”

“Is that why you were avoiding me?”

“Mhm,” She nodded slowly.

“And now, you want me to be the one you pray to?”

“Yes,” she said without hesitation.

Isaac didn’t answer immediately.

He just looked at her, his expression calm but thoughtful.

’There’s a chance the strength of the god or demigod she follows affects her.’

’That would make sense. The stronger the being, the greater the blessing she receives from them.’

That was logical. The strength of the god should affect the strength of their believer. Alice predicted that too.

That was why she bowed.

Because she knew Isaac would tell her no, and that she should pray to another god

He exhaled quietly.

“Alice,” he said after a pause, “your dream is to fight powerful monsters and defeat them, right? For that, you need to grow stronger. Are you sure you want to pray to me? What if having a demigod instead of a god limits you?”

“You’re the only one for me,” she said simply.

Isaac fell silent. He could hear the honesty in her voice.

He ran a hand through his hair and nodded.

“Alright. But we’ll talk to the Vice Principal first. If having a demigod as your god affects you in a negative way, you won’t pray to me. Agreed?”

Alice tilted her head slightly, not answering.

Her silence was a kind of protest in itself.

Isaac smiled faintly.

He could tell what she was thinking. She didn’t care if it weakened her. She just wanted to tie herself to him.

“I’m going to get ready,” he said after a while. “You should rest a bit longer.”

She blinked. “Why?”

He smirked. “Because I bet you’re tired from last night.”

“Isaac—”

He cut her off by tucking the blanket around her shoulders before she could sit up.

“Take rest while you have time now. We are going to be busy soon.”

She looked at him, and she didn’t move to argue.

Isaac stretched as he stood up, his back cracking slightly. He went to the bathroom and turned on the shower. The sound of running water filled the room.

A few minutes later, he stepped out, toweling his hair dry. Alice had already dozed off again, her breathing steady and calm.

He smiled at the sight before slipping on a clean shirt and pants.

Afterwards, he came out of the room to farm his crops.

Despites the intense night he spent with Alice, he wasn’t exhausted at all. Part of it was because of his increased stats, and part of it was because his libido seemed to have increased after he got the Sinbound Physique from Celia. He felt he could go a lot of rounds even now despite the night they spent.

As he stepped out of his door, Leora came out of the room next door.

She stared at him silently.

“Good morning,” he said. “I’m going to harvest the crops. Are you coming with me.”

She nodded.

“…?”

Isaac was confused by the silent treatment.

As he looked closely, he realized Eleanor’s expression was especially frosty today.

’Is it me, or does she look pissed off?’

He checked her status.

“Leora,” Isaac spoke as they ate. “I wanted to ask you about Gods. Do you know about them?”

“I know somewhat about them.” She said.

Emily coughed, and had to ask for water.

Her eyes seemed to be saying, why are you saying you know about the gods? You are disguised as a student, vice principal and a student shouldn’t know about all of this.

“What do you want to know?”

“I—”

Isaac opened his mouth to respond, but a sudden sensation stopped him cold.

Under the table, Celia’s tail had found its way to his inner thigh, brushing against him in a way that was anything but innocent.

He glanced at her, and she set her fork down, her eyes wide with mock concern. “Isaac, why’d you stop talking? Is something wrong?”

He wanted to call her out, but the last thing he needed was to draw attention to what was happening.

’I should just let her be.’

“It’s nothing” he said, and looked back at Leora. “Alice’s class needs her to pray to a God or Demigod and serve under them. If Alice does prays to me, would she have any problems?”

He tried to ignore the way Celia’s tail crept higher, its tip teasing dangerously close to his groin.

“You are a demigod?” she asked.

“Yes.”

“I see,” Leora nodded. She didn’t seem very surprised. “Alice can pray to you. That’s no problem. In fact, a sufficiently high Lord is no different from a God. Many of them would search for a Saintess, since a Saintess and more followers praying to them brings a lot of benefits.”

Isaac almost stopped when Celia’s tail slipped into his pants.

He looked at her.

Celia’s eyes widened, and she nearly jumped in her seat.

Her face flushed bright red as she whipped her head toward Isaac, who was calmly eating his breakfast, his expression betraying nothing.

But he was eating his breakfast.

She glanced behind him, as if expecting to see a tail, but there was none.

Celia had to suppress the moan that almost came out.

That was when she noticed the slight movement of his fingers, matching the rhythm of the sensation she was feeling.

’I-Is he using Telekinesis to do that to me?!’

Before Celia could begin stroking it, a voice rang, “You two. I know you are excited, but save those things for the bedroom.”

Celia looked at Professor Catherine who had spoken with a smile.

Celia was alarmed. She quickly looked around, and noticed Emily was eating her food too fast. Her face was bright red.

Alice was staring at her.

As for Leora, she was eating her food calmly.

But if Emily and Alice had sensed their movements, then there was no way Leora hadn’t sensed anything.

“I-I’m sorry!”

Celia quickly stopped using Telekinesis and pulled her tail back. Her face was red as tomato as she realized everyone in the room could sense her flirting with Isaac.

Just then, she heard Isaac say, “Heh, noob.”

She turned her head, glaring at him with tears in the corner of her eyes.

She decided she was going to make him embarrassed! She was definitely going to do that!

She refused to be the only one who kept getting teased!
