Every time he moved, the rough stone scraped against his scales, reminding him that he had grown far too large for this place.

He let out a frustrated growl, the sound echoing through the cave. It had been his home for months, ever since he had claimed it after a fierce battle with a Tier 4 monster. The forest stretched out before him, an endless expanse of towering trees and dark shadows. Somewhere out there was a place that would suit him—a larger, more secure home. He just had to find it.

He leaped into the air, his powerful wings beating rhythmically as he soared above the treetops. The wind rushed past him, and for the first time in a while, he felt free. The sky was his domain, and up here, there were no limits. He could fly as far as he needed, explore the vast forest below, and find a new territory that would accommodate his growing body.

As he flew, his mind began to drift. The cave had been a symbol of his early struggles, a reminder of how far he had come. Now that he was stronger, smarter, and more capable, the world felt different. It was no longer just about surviving—it was about thriving, about building something greater. He had been toying with the idea of expanding his territory, and moving to a bigger lair would be the first step in making that dream a reality.

Flying over the forest, John’s sharp eyes scanned the ground below, searching for any sign of a suitable location. A cave nestled in the side of a mountain would be ideal—somewhere high, where other creatures would think twice before challenging him. He needed a place where he could store food, hide from potential threats, and—eventually—rule.

But before he could continue his search, something caught his attention. Off in the distance, a strange movement below. At first, it seemed like just another animal or monster going about its day, but as he focused, he noticed something unusual.

His instincts kicked in, a subtle tension forming in his chest. Whatever was down there, it wasn’t normal.

John circled around, lowering his altitude slightly as he tried to get a better look.

“What is that…?” he muttered to himself.
