Chapter 165: This Looks Tasty
A man holding a machete was hauled and crashed onto the ramp of the black BMW, dead.
Feng shook his head, then counted. “Twentieth gone.” He closed his eyes briefly. When he opened them, four angry men ran back.
They crashed into the white BMW’s door, screaming. “Sir, only you can handle that monster.”
Sharp gasps emitted from inside the car as the door swung open. Black boots slammed hard onto the ground, sending dust flying upward.
A broad-shouldered young man who had tattoos all over his body raised his head, then stretched. He grinned and whispered to the first two men, who were closer to the open door.
“Who is that stopping you?” He brushed his left arm, which had a scorpion tattoo.
One of the two men turned, hoping to show his respect to Demon, their boss, but met his tragic death.
The remaining three stumbled back and fell, marbles biting into their palms. Blood traced thin lines from P2’s forehead to his chin.
At the same time, Demon’s right hand carved a hole in P2’s head, smashing the soft tissue as if it were a toy.
“Next time,” he said, throwing sharp glances at the three men. “Let your souls come and inform me. That would be better.”
The grin on his face diluted into a dreadful look.
The three men hurried up from the ground and joined their falling gang. Metal clanged as they charged Feng.
For the first time, Feng’s smile faded. He sidestepped, blocked, then kicked the last person with his right foot.
The kick sent the third young man crashing into the front of the white BMW. As he tried to get up, Demon blasted his head with his boots.
“Pathetic being.” He spat on the headless body, then inhaled the bloodied air.
When all the machete wielders lay lifeless, Feng stretched his hand, cracking the bones.
He watched as the tattooed man neared him.
Demon’s chest rose and fell at every corpse he walked by, laughing.
“You, you, you, YOU!” He pointed at the bodies, then shook his head as he neared his younger brother’s corpse.
He crouched down on one knee, then softly wrapped his hands around the cheeks of the dying man.
“Bro—” blood popped from Zu’s mouth, stopping his words. Blood clotted on his eyeball as he tried to keep a steady gaze on Demon.
“You’re weak. I always knew that.”
He watched his brother, then grinned. “Let me make it fast for you.”
A soulless expression crossed Zu’s face as Demon’s thumbs struck his eyes. He screamed, but his blood brother didn’t care.
“This is good.” Demon nodded, then stood straight. He shifted his gaze from Zu’s sunken eyes, then focused on the blood on his thumbs.
“This looks tasty.” He licked his lips, then stuck his thumbs in his mouth, swallowing the blood.
Feng stood shocked. Though he had fought all one hundred men without sweating, the scene before him made him sweat.
Meanwhile, inside the black BMW, Leon tried opening his door, but stopped when he looked at the look in Lily’s eyes.
“Brother, don’t leave me here.” Lily’s scared voice sent a chill through Leon.
He inhaled, then slowly released his grip on the door handle.
Mr. Lee opened his door, then closed it. He pressed the remote, locking all remaining doors.
“It’s better he stays by her side,” he whispered, then smiled at Leon through the glass.
Just as Mr. Lee stopped at the front of the BMW, where Feng stood, he laughed.
“Din Din D?” he mentioned the name out loud, shaking his head.
Demon swallowed hard when he saw the face of Lieutenant Lee. “Ssssir.” He stuttered, then moved a step back.
’Why didn’t he tell me that rat is guided by Lee?’ Demon whispered in his head, then gave Feng a careful look.
Feng’s chest loosened as he turned a soft, curious face to Mr. Lee.
Mr. Lee kept on shaking his head, watching Din Din D rush back to the white BMW.
In a flash, Demon drove away, panting heavily.
Feng and Mr. Lee walked back to the black BMW but stopped when the horns of Bastion City’s patrolling guards sounded.
A few men in full combat outfits got out of three vehicles. Two looked pale as they watched the corpses, almost as if they knew them.
But a man in a blue-and-black security uniform closed in on the black BMW.
“Lieutenant Lee,” he called out, then pulled a smart device from his pocket. “I’m Inspector Sung.”
Feng stood by the right sideFeng stood by the right side of the BMW, watching the two guards’ strange reactions whenever they neared a dead, gunned man. Lee gestured at Feng, and they slid into their seats.
As they drove past the guards, Feng relaxed in his seat and turned his head toward Mr. Lee.
“Uncle, what did the man say?” Feng asked, maintaining a relaxed expression as he awaited Mr. Lee’s response.
Mr. Lee raised an eyebrow as he looked at Leon’s waiting face through the rearview mirror, then gave a coded smile.
Feng understood: When we are out, I will let you know.
After a few minutes, they halted at the front of the Storms’ mansion.
Lily kept tugging at Leon’s side even inside their fenced environment.
“Brother, I’m scared,” she said, hiding her face in Leon’s waist.
Leon brushed his fingers through her hair, then pushed the mansion’s door open.
“Good evening, sir,” Min-seo and Min-ji bowed and greeted.
Leon responded, but Lily remained stiff even as Min-seo tried to continue their everyday playful activities.
“Sir, sorry, Leon.” Min-seo corrected herself as she saw the look in Leon’s eyes. She remembered what Leon told them earlier: Call me Leon, not sir or master.
Leon took Lily to her room, then went to his own. He shut the door and stood by the window, watching the front of the mansion where Mr. Lee and Feng stood.
Chilled air brushed into his jet-black hair as he focused his gaze on their lips.
“Uncle, first, do you know the guys who attacked us on the way?” Feng asked, crossing his legs as he leaned on the BMW ramp.
Mr. Lee raised his head, watched the shooting stars, then inhaled deeply. Just as he opened his mouth to speak, he saw Leon watching from the third floor.
He waved at Leon, then turned and smiled at Feng. “I will tell you everything once we are out of his sight.”
Leon watched the black BMW leave the Storm mansion walls, then frowned.
