That strange entity didn’t do anything to him. It simply watched him from afar and then left.

Sylas could hear his heart pounding.

After taking a deep breath, Sylas stood up and then heard the sound of cars coming from the left side of the road.

He turned his head toward the sound and saw four military cars approaching.

Sylas didn’t get into his car. He stood there, and when the military cars reached him, they stopped.

From the front car, a few soldiers got out holding guns. Among them, one soldier walked toward Sylas and asked, “Fellow survivor, are you a native of N City or from another place?”

“From Pinewood Town,” Sylas replied, nodding at them.
