Chapter 148: Now That You’re Full, You Don’t Care About Me.

“No, I didn’t know!” Dai Humin shook her head in panic. “I didn’t know for real, it’s not on purpose. I had no ulterior motives. If I had known she was unkind to you, I wouldn’t have done it. I… I didn’t know she was that terrible!”

“You know now.” Lin Chu scoffed at her, “So I’m advising you, stop talking to her. Don’t let her use you anymore. Ms. Dai, I’ll just be frank. You’re not a very clever person. You may not have ulterior motives on me, or you would have kept your guards up on Lu Weining. But, it’s because you’re not clever that you’re unable to sense the traps she’d set for you and was unconsciously used by her.”

“If you mean well for me, then you need to keep your distance from her. Stop having any sort of communication with her,” Lin Chu said in a stern tone as she sighed heavily.

If she were to say it more pleasantly, she was scared Dai Huimin would not get the gist.

“If you’re really sorry that you threw me away before, shouldn’t you at least be doing things that are actually good for me?” Lin Chu said.

Dai Huimin felt a stab in her heart, but she nodded anyway. “I… I won’t go near her anymore, please believe me.”

“Good,” Lin Chu nodded.

As for Dai Huimin’s guarantee, she did not believe in it. But it did not matter anymore, so long she kept her guard up.

Yan Beicheng then spoke to Dai Huimin, “I’ll ask someone to take you home.”

It was obvious that they did not believe her.

But Dai Huimin seemed to not sense the implied meaning of this statement and waved her hands uneasily declining, “No need, no need.”

Yan Beicheng ignored her and waved at the opposite road. Huang Changxian came over.

Yan Beicheng instructed Huang Changxian to send Dai Huimin home and did not allow her to reject it.

Lu Weining was sitting in the car and saw Yan Beicheng coming over. She felt uneasy in her heart and frowned while looking at them, but she was unable to hear what they were talking about.

She then saw Huang Changxian going over, grabbing Dai Huimin by her arm and leaving. Lu Weining clenched her steering wheel and squinted her eyes.

“Let’s go,” Yan Beicheng held Lin Chu’s hand and brought her to his car.

Suddenly he stood still, his gaze turned to another direction opposite the road.

Lu Weining was in the car and almost as if she had met eyes with Yan Beicheng. She knew that he could not look inside but it seemed as if he was able to see through the windows and it made her heart leaped and her palms broke out in cold sweat.

Lin Chu averted her gaze to where Yan Beicheng was looking and saw Lu Weining’s Audi.

Due to Lu Weining’s consistent attention toward her, she was familiar with Lu Weining’s car.

Yan Beicheng squinted his eyes and turned back, “Let’s go.”

Lin Chu nodded and obediently followed him into the car.

Although she did not have any feelings for Dai Huimin, being stirred up by her in such a way did take a toll on her emotions.

Yan Beicheng looked at her and said nothing, it only took a couple of minutes and they were back in Yan Hui.

After getting off the car and locking it, he then held onto her hand all the way back to his office.

Fortunately, Yan Hui’s staff knew the identity of Lin Chu from top to bottom. They were no longer a stranger to this scene and did not pay attention to them. They went about normally with their matters.

Once they were in the office, Yan Beicheng then hugged Lin Chu to the point that her feet were not touching the ground. He then sat on the sofa, embracing her in his arms and having her sit on his lap.

“Feeling bad?” Yan Beicheng tucked her into his embrace. Even though there were only the two of them in the office, he was still afraid she would get hurt and was being careful.

Lin Chu shook her head, but Yan Beicheng was able to see that her face was still slightly pale. Her state of mind was not as great as before, it was heart-wrenching to watch.

“I’m fine,” Lin Chu played with his shirt’s button unconsciously. “It’s just that it’s a bit annoying. But looking at her did not give me much of a feeling, don’t worry about it.”

“I’d rather you don’t have any feelings toward her,” Yan Beicheng said as he tightened his embrace slightly, and looked at her fair forehead. His thin lips kissed onto her forehead and nibbled on it slightly.

It made Lin Chu’s whole body went hot, and suddenly the sound of stomach growling was heard.

Yan Beicheng laughed first and planted a kiss on her lips. “If you feel hungry, it means your state of mind’s not that terrible.”

“…” Lin Chu gave him a little push and was about to get off his lap, “I’ll heat up the meals.”

A lot of time had been taken up and the takeout food had turned cold.

Although heating them up would affect the taste, it was still better than eating them cold. She remembered that Yan Beicheng’s stomach was not in great condition. If they ordered a new takeout, it would be too late as well.

“I’ll go heat it up,” Yan Beicheng said.

“Don’t say it as if you know how to,” Lin Chu teased him a bit.

When he was at home, he practically did nothing. Sometimes he did some labor work such as changing light bulbs, hammering in some nails, and opening tightly sealed lids. Those were the kind of chores he was able to do, other than that, just forget about it.

Up until now, he was still unable to figure out the washing machine as well as microwave ovens.

Yan Beicheng suddenly took a deep breath, his hands uncontrollably pinched her at the waist. He was reluctant to let go.

“This really is a job for you,” Yan Beicheng said in a hoarse tone as he rested his head on her shoulder and heaved heavily.

Lin Chu then felt his change. His underneath was getting intimidatingly hot and was bulging scarily. She had no idea as to why he would suddenly have a reaction.

“It’s because you rubbed on it,” Yan Beicheng explained, suddenly sucking a little on the skin of her exquisite neck and was not holding back, the tip of his tongue came out striking.

Lin Chu’s whole body trembled, she felt numb and went soft all over. “You… you need to let me go. I need to heat up the meals.”

Yan Beicheng took another heavy breath, he then let go of Lin Chu.

Lin Chu was holding onto the container, and consequently made eye contact with the zipper of his trousers. Looking at it, it had risen into a tent-like situation. Her whole face blushed red.

Just as she turned around, her gaze met Yan Beicheng’s hot and teasing gaze. She quickly turned back. She felt his sharp stare piercing through from behind, it seemed like she would be having problems walking later.

Yan Beicheng was not occupied today, hence once he finished his food, he might not let her leave and would have her to rest on his sofa instead.

There was plenty of time, he could still send her back a quarter past one.

Once Lin Chu laid down, Yan Beicheng then sat on the side of the sofa. His black pupils were looking at her, and even though Lin Chu’s eyes were shut, she was able to feel the piercing gaze on her face and body. It was constantly searching and not at all innocent.

Lin Chu pulled the blanket over her face and turned to face the wall of the sofa to separate his line of sight.

Consequently, her back was pressed close against by Yan Beicheng. Even the blanket was pulled down by him, exposing her face.

The tip of his nose was almost glued on her face, as he constantly sniffed and pecked on her. Even his breathing was intimidatingly hot.

Lin Chu blushed, and could not help but opened her eyes wide to stare at him, “Are you going to let me nap?”

Who knew that Yan Beicheng dared to give her an unusually wronged expression. “Your man’s right here, are you really going to nap when asked to do so, do you not know there are other meanings to it?”

“…” Lin Chu looked at him speechlessly, “What else do you want? Haven’t we passed the point that we are polite to each other?”

Yan Beicheng was ecstatic to hear these words from her. His heart was completely contented. He then pulled her to sit up and kissed on her lips, “Who’s asking you to be polite, don’t you know I want to be with you?”

“…” Lin Chu took a look at the sofa and him after. “We can’t lie down together.”

Yan Beicheng had no clue if Lin Chu was intentionally acting, or truly did not understand what he meant. He gritted his teeth and pushed himself on her. “Do you understand now? Have you forgotten my state before the meal? Now that you’re full, you don’t care about me.”

Lin Chu’s face went red and did not dare to move about. Her hand subconsciously pressed against his chest, and her palms were getting hot from it. “Are you joking, this is your office.”

“I’m not joking, right now no one will come into my office,” Yan Beicheng said. He raised his wrist to look at the time on his watch. “There’s still more than half an hour left. I’ll be fast, okay?”

“Yan Beicheng!” Lin Chu exclaimed in shock. He was acting too willfully.

This was his workplace. Did he not feel restrained at all?

He was not waiting around to be rejected. His hands were already grasping her belt, and the buttons on her shirt were already undone.

Lin Chu was stunned as she got softer, unable to keep him off.

“The sofa’s too narrow. This position’s not convenient, let’s change,” Yan Beicheng said.

Lim Chu barely had time to reach and was flipped over with Yan Beicheng pounding on her brutally.

In the end, Yan Beicheng thought to continue and even considered to only let her go back late afternoon. He could ask Wei Zilin directly to give her a leave of absence.

Lin Chu could not bear it anymore and kicked him off the sofa.

Yan Beicheng knew that he was being too much, hence he did not get angry.

He went to wet a towel and wiped her clean. He sorted out her clothes, before sorting out his.

“Go and open the window, there’s a smell in the room,” Lin Chu said as she blushed.

Because of doing one round, her face had a natural pinkish tone and she looked bright and charming. The tone was even more charming with her blush.

Yan Beicheng could not hold himself back and embraced her in his arms again and vigorously rubbed her over once more.

In the end, the angered Lin Chu bit him hard on his shoulder, gnawing through his shirt. Yan Beicheng felt a slight pain and knew that she was truly annoyed, hence he let her go.

He tried to woo her for a bit, before being pushed away by Lin Chu to open the windows for air circulation.

Lin Chu then looked at the time and wanted to leave.

When she got up, her legs went soft and she almost fell back.

Coincidentally, Yan Beicheng saw everything, which annoyed Lin Chu to kick on his calf. Who would use their lunchtime for this!

Yan Beicheng tried to hold her up and said in a satisfied tone, “This is more thrilling.”

Lin Chu, “…”

Yan Beicheng massaged Lin Chu’s legs, and as they walked out, Yan Beicheng offered, “Do you want me to piggyback you?”

Lin Chu did not agree and glared at him. She held back the sore pain and opened the door to leave first.

At this hour, the company was filled with people walking by, to be piggybacked by him, would she still be able to meet people?

She wanted to tell him that he should be thinking about his prestige in his own company.

Yan Beicheng then rubbed the tip of his nose and was worried that Lin Chu would not let him touch her tonight. If he were to annoy her then he would be losing his benefit for tonight.

He contemplated it, the number of times they do it in the office should be reduced. He could still hold it in, two or three times a month should be enough.

It was indeed more enticing to do it in the office.

Yan Beicheng sent her back to Lin Yi. The black, Grand Cherokee stopped right by the company’s entrance.

Lin Chu was preparing to say goodbye and get off the car when she felt an itch on the back of her hand.

She lowered her head to look. He had reached out for her, but not to openly hold her hand but using his index finger to gently stroke the back of her hand. The cautious action made it seemed like he was a child that had provoked an adult and was trying to win back their favor.

Looking at his childish movement, and then looking at his fresh and elegant face, one just could not simply look straight into it.

How did this originally staid man become such a child?

“Are you still angry?” Yan Beicheng asked as he unbuckled his seatbelt and turned to face her. Both of his hands were holding hers, his thumb was placed on the back of her hand, slowly caressing it.

The skin on his thumb was slightly rough, it was not soft like hers. It was almost electrifying as it rubbed her hands slowly.

“Come on, don’t be angry anymore,” Yan Beicheng said as he held her hands up, and gave each of her fingertips a kiss.

He probably had no idea how coy his manner of speaking at the present moment was.

The slightly low-pitched and husky voice, with such an accent that was showing his softer side. How could she be angry at him?

She was not able to hold it back and laughed out loud instead.

“I’m going up now,” Lin Chu said as she held her laughter back.

Yan Beicheng grabbed the back of her head and softly placed his lips on hers. It was as if he was sampling a delicacy, taking his time with it. He did not dare to devour ravenously as well, afraid that he would miss out on the taste. Although, one could not say he was being gentle as well.

After a good taste, he then let go of her.

When Lin Chu got off the car, her face looked tender and beautiful. It was exceptionally good-looking, even her eyes were emitting charms of youth. People passing by gave her a second glance.

She had no idea if her lips were swollen or not. She covered her lips and tried to suck it into her mouth.

As she reached the main entrance, she turned around and waved toward the car. Yan Beicheng was only willing to leave after seeing this.

As she turned around to go in, she saw Zheng Yuntong and the others returning as well. What astonished her the most was that Shen Zongyi beside her. Amongst the female colleagues, Shen Zhongyi’s tall and sleek figure was particularly eye-catching.

Lin Chu blinked and had forgotten to cover up her lips. She waited by the door for Zheng Yuntong to reach and lifted her eyebrows at her.

Zheng Yuntong blushed and hurriedly walked over. She pulled on Lin Chu’s sleeve.

Lin Chu looked at Shen Zongyi and smiled at him. Shen Zongyi’s ears turned red, he pretended nothing had happened and nodded slightly at Lin Chu.

“Cough,” Shen Zongyi uncomfortably fixed his tie that required no fixing. “I’m going up first.”

Lin Chu watched as Shen Zongyi walked in front of them, his appearance seemed normal. Though if one took a closer look, his footsteps were indeed bigger than usual.

“What’s going on? When we’re going out, didn’t Shen Zongyi leave the building before us?” Lin Chu asked Zheng Yuntong in a low voice.

Zheng Yuntong rolled her eyes awkwardly. She had no idea as well what game Shen Zongyi was playing.

Just as he came out, he went back into office again, saying he had forgotten something.

She did not think much into it and went to the grilled fish restaurant. When the dishes were served not long after, she then saw Shen Zongyi walking in. Seeing them, he walked toward them.

A few of them were not familiar with Shen Zongyi. Even Xiao Zhao from Accounting and Zhou Xinman from HR rarely dealt with Shen Zongyi, let alone having idle gossip together.

Consequently, when they saw him walking over, they were all put under a great deal of pressure.

“What a coincidence,” Shen Zongyi greeted as he stood beside the table and said calmly.

Everyone, “…”

Coincidence my *ss, you were right beside us when we were talking about coming here for a meal!

Shen Zongyi seemed to not have any other intention. He sat down on the empty table next to theirs. He sat properly, looking quite a gentleman except that he was alone and it looked a bit pitiful.

Zhou Xinman then cleared her throat and was thinking that since everyone was colleagues, it was not a sight to behold for Shen Zongyi to be all alone looking pitiful.

She then invited Shen Zongyi to dine with them.

Even then, Zhou Xinman was only asking out of courtesy. Since Shen Zongyi was a masculine man that barely spoke, she thought that he would be uninterested in joining a bunch of girls for a meal.

But when Shen Zongyi heard this, he quickly nodded his head and swiftly moved his seat to their table and sat right beside Zhen Yuntong.

Everyone, “…”

That was the whole situation, they then had a confusing meal with Shen Zongyi.

The whole event was hard to be explained by Zhen Yuntong to Lin Chu, else she would be teased by her. Hence, Zheng Yuntong said that it was only a coincidence.

Despite that, Lin Chu was in incredulity. She then said, “Ohhh…” in an ambiguous tone.

When Yan Beicheng returned to the office, and because the windows were left wide open, the smell had dissipated from the office.

He wanted to have few more whiffs, as it made him recalled back the earlier excitement and enjoyment.

As he sat on the sofa, his left hand caressed the leather cover. He then took his phone out of his pocket and looked for Han Zhuoli’s phone number and dialed it. “Zhuo Zi, help me out with something.”

He looked at the time and estimated that Shen Zongyi should be back from lunch too. He called his number to have him come to his office.

“Could you check out some of Xing Chuang’s recent cooperation projects, what are the advertisements their artists are shooting now, their event appearance activities, their participation in variety shows, dramas, movies and what are they producing right now. Try to also include their production investors in the list,” Yan Beicheng instructed, as he tapped on the leather surface of the sofa. He continued, “Don’t worry about the contracts that had been signed, look at those who have not been signed or are currently in the negotiation stage.”

Shen Zongyi acknowledged his instruction and went out to get it sorted.

Shen Zongyi left and closed the door behind him. Yan Beicheng’s serious expression immediately changed, even though he was not smiling on the outside, his luster was rippling distinctly on the pupils of his eyes.

He lifted his long pair of legs and slept on the sofa, rolling over it and turned down to take a whiff. The sofa still had Lin Chu’s smell on it.

The next day in the afternoon, Lin Chu exited from the elevator and saw Huang Changxian standing by the door not far away. He was wearing a formal suit today.

But his stance showed that he was a bodyguard.

As his cover was exposed yesterday and his identity was revealed, he might as well not hide it anymore.

Yan Beicheng told her as well, he was afraid that Dai Huimin would not give up and came to disturb her again. So, he wanted Huang Changxian to come and escort her to Yan Hui.

Lin Chu nodded towards Huang Changxian from afar to indicate that she had seen him.

As she was about to start walking, a person suddenly came up to her.

“Are you Lin Chu?”

Lin Chu was perplexed as she was completely not prepared for someone to jump out in front of her. She subconsciously retreated two steps before taking a good look at the person in front of her.

The person was more petite than her and was not drop-dead gorgeous either. But she was quite fair and looked pleasant. She was young too, and overall, her appearance would easily attract males.

Lin Chu suddenly had a headache, somebody random would come by to look for her every two to three days. It was indeed vexing.

If it happened once or twice, she would still be able to cope with it. But, coming over almost every day to annoy her, she just could not give them a good face.

Especially when people that came over were always scolding her over a man. It was not a splendorous matter at all, it was a joke if other people were to observe.

But Lin Chu did not recognize this stranger in front of her.

She coldly asked, “May I know who you are?”

“My name is Xu Jiaojiao, my mother is Dai Huimin,” Xu Jiaojiao explained. She had an obstinate expression as she looked at Lin Chu and added, “She’s also your mother.”

When Lin Chu heard her name, she already knew who she was. Dai Huimin spoke of her yesterday as well.

She had no clue what the mother-daughter duo was thinking, taking turns looking for her.

She thought that she was quite clear with Dai Huimin already.

“My mother doesn’t know that I came looking for you,” Xu Jiaojiao said. “I just want to talk.”

Lin Chu was indifferent. “Ms. Xu, we have nothing to talk about. Excuse me, I have to go.”

She was just about to leave when Xu Jiaojiao grabbed her by the arm. “Can’t you give me ten minutes to talk? Lin… You’re my big sister, why do you call me in such an unfamiliar manner?”

Lin Chu shook her hands off and tried to control her temper. “I am sorry, but what I meant was that I already set things straight with Madam Dai yesterday.”

If Xu Jiaojiao were to look for her privately and if she was not so rude and impetuous, Lin Chu perhaps would have the patience to have a good chat with Xu Jiaojiao.

Xu Jiaojiao’s every action made it clear that she was borrowing the crowds to force her to talk. If she did not want to get embarrassed, then she ought to follow Xu Jiaojiao.

But Xu Jiaojiao had no idea that Lin Chu was constantly being annoyed, hence this trick would not threaten her in any other way.

She was not an unreasonable person, even if she would never be close to Dai Huimin, but Xu Jiaojiao was still her little sister. If she was nice and kind, she was willing for Xu Jiaojiao to be her actual little sister. As for Dai Huimin, she would just ignore her.

When Dai Huimin abandoned her, Xu Jiaojiao was not even born yet. It had nothing to do with Xu Jiaojiao.

Looking at Xu Jiaojiao’s current behavior, Lin Chu felt that she was the same as Dai Huimin.

She was only thinking about herself and was incapable of thinking about the effect she would have on others.

All these tricks she was pulling, she dared to play it right in front of her.

“Big Sister!” Xu Jiaojiao grabbed onto Lin Chu’s arm, her fair face looked sad and cowardly. It was as if she was a small white flower. “Big Sister, she’s still your mother, why do you keep calling her Madam Dai? Big Sister, just give me some time to talk to you please? She’s been talking about you for years. When we hadn’t found you, I already knew of your existence. Mom has been feeling guilty all this time and feels sorry for you. She’s sincere and just wanted to be good to you now. Why are you doing this to her? When she came back, she was so upset she kept crying.”

After looking at Lin Chu’s cold face and keeping quiet, Xu Jiaojiao looked at the crowd’s gaze towards them. She then said in a lower volume, “Big Sister, I know you think I’m embarrassing you, so just come and talk to me privately and I’ll stop disturbing you. If… If not, I’ll just stay right here and not go anywhere! I know you don’t want to be embarrassed here and make people look at you as a joke! Moreover, I heard you’re dating Yan Beichenng. If a scene was caused, the Yan family would not be happy.”

Threatening her this way but calling her Big Sister. What was the meaning behind all these?

Lin Chu smiled coldly, “Fine, we’ll talk. Let’s go.”

She glanced over at Huang Changxian who was silently walking toward them, he stopped in his footsteps.

Xu Jiaojiao was happy when she heard this and quickly followed her toward the door.

When they reached the main door, a man in a suit suddenly appeared in front and blocked their way out.

“Ms. Lin, please get into the car,” Huang Changxian said and passed her a car key.

Lin Chu took the key and noticed the Volkswagen symbol on it.

Lin Chu nodded and walked down the steps.

She then heard Xu Jiaojiao asking behind her, “Who are you, stop blocking my way. Big Sister, don’t go!”

Lin Chu ignored her and saw a Volkswagen Golf parked right in front by the road. She did not know if this was the car and used the car key to unlock it. The Golf’s car lights flashed.

Just as she walked to the car, Xu Jiaojiao shouted from behind, “Big Sister, why are you so heartless that you do not want to acknowledge your mother and sister? Are you afraid that we will take advantage of you? We won’t! We just want to be close to you. Mom went back sobbing uncontrollably yesterday. Big Sister, we won’t be a drag to you. Big Sister, please just go and meet up with mom. She’s in pain and she missed you very much. She knows she’s in the wrong now. Big Sister, you cannot deny and not acknowledge your mother. Are you looking down on us?”

Lin Chu was opening the door of the back seat of the car and stopped and looked at her coldly. “I’m looking down on you, not because of your family’s situation. I’m an orphan myself, I don’t think I’m better than anyone. I’m looking down on your characters.”

Lin Chu then observed Xu Jiajiao’s tear-stained pretty face. “With you blocking me like this, yelling and crying out loud blaming me. What sort of intention do you have?”

Finishing her words, she did not bother with what Xu Jiaojiao would reply. She opened the car door and went inside.

She initially wanted to enter the car and ignored her.

Every word that Xu Jiaojiao had implicated that she was to be blamed. As if she was the cruel and unscrupulous one that did not acknowledge her biological mother and sister. In the eyes of outsiders, both the mother and the younger sister were already on their knees begging, but she was still indifferent, cold and detached making her look utterly ruthless.

They would not think what caused it and why she had done what she did. Outsiders would only look at what was happening now, nobody cared what had happened years ago.

But Lin Chu was not the type of person who would sulk in silence and be shortchanged over such matters.

Xu Jiaojiao wanted to chase after her, but Huang Changxian was blocking her path.

“What do you think you’re doing, stop blocking me. I want to talk to my Big Sister!” Xu Jiaojiao said anxiously.

Huang Changxian ignored Xu Jiaojiao, he merely blocked her for a while before dashing into the car and locked the car doors.

Xu Jiaojiao rushed forward and tried to open the car door. Huang Changxian quickly started the car and stepped on the gas pedal, almost tripping over Xu Jiaojiao.

Xu Jiaojiao staggered a few steps. As the car went into the distance and out of sight, she retrieved her gaze and noticed the people around were staring at her. She felt her face burning up from embarrassment.

She lowered her head but did not leave. She found a bun shop nearby and spent 10 Yuan on a bowl of porridge and two plain buns and ate it quickly.

After that, she came out and waited again. This time she did not openly wait right by the company’s entrance but found a corner that was not easily spotted by others.

She looked at the time and knew that Lin Chu had half an hour left till her lunchtime was over. Fortunately, the weather was not cold, so it would not be a problem even if she had to stand and wait for a long while.

Just as she was about to browse the internet on her phone, a phone call came in.

It was Dai Huimin.

Xu Jiaojiao answered the call, “Mom.”

“Jiaojiao, did you go look for your sister?” Dai Huimin asked.

“Yeah.” Xu Jiaojiao looked at the door of the office building and shrank back into the corner. “You were so upset at home, so I came looking for her. I’m just hoping she’ll come and visit you. No matter what, we are still her relatives. You’re her mother and I’m her sister. There’s no excuse for her to not even acknowledge us.”

“Jiaojiao, she doesn’t like it when we go and look for her. Moreover, I’m the one that wronged her, so stop troubling her,” Dai Huimin said.

“Why would I cause her trouble?” Xu Jiaojiao said hurriedly, “We’re a family, to be acknowledged is something unavoidable. Besides, you already knew that you were in the wrong for things in the past. You’ve been guilty about it for more than 20 years. It’s not as if you feel way better than her. Moreover, she is getting everything she ever wanted now and her life is great. We can’t even have what she has even if we dream of it, and we can’t even think of getting a good life. What could she possibly complain and hate about?”
