Chapter 86: Farce
Translator: Wuxia Dog Editor: Wuxia Dog
They all turned into statues. Hundreds of vampires were ferociously flooding towards them like a large dark cloud. Their spirits fell to an all time low, and neared desperation.
If there were only a few dozen vampires coming toward them, they might have still been muster up the courage to fight until the last moment, but now, everything was meaningless. It was very likely that there was at least one vampire ranked as a king or the like among such a large number of vampires. Even a Supreme Knight at the eleventh grade could not defeat them, let alone Han Jin and his companions.
“My God…” Some villagers were startled.
The rest also raised their heads. They soon observed the anomaly in the sky. Some screamed, some stood up and ran toward the woods, while others were sitting there crying. It was a mess on the field again.
“Raphael, can you escape by yourself?” Sunier asked in a low voice.
“Me…” Han Jin was stunned.
“Then go, leave us!” Moxinke moved on.
This importunate fighter who was fond of arguing with others on normal days was now extremely calm. An expression of desolation filled his eyes after the emotions of desperation and unwillingness flashed across.
“Go, Young Master!” Steelberg also cried.
“We still have a chance,” Han Jin slowly said. “I can refresh your energy, and…”
“It’s no use.” Sunier shook her head. “You and Reg may be able to escape, but not us. We’d rather fight until the last moment than run away like dogs.”
“How can you be so sure without trying?!” Han Jin said fretfully.
Sunier slowly lifted up her right hand and took off her mask in a free and easy manner. She shook her head. Her smooth and shiny blond hair hung down like rays of flowing light. Behind the mask was an extremely beautiful – breathtakingly beautiful – face. Her cheeks were snow white and delicate. Her eyes were viridescent and shining with a brilliant light. Her eyebrows were curved, and between them was a golden hexagram. Her nose was straight, and her lips were pink and full. All of these made up an unparalleled pure picture that was refreshing for the eyes.
“You have seen me. Now you should have no regrets.” Sunier showed a smile.
Moxinke gawked at the six-pointed star between her eyebrows. “You are…”
“A coincidence,” she replied in a low voice.
“Listen to me…” Han Jin said anxiously, the blue veins on his forehead protruding.
“Now you should listen to me,” Sunier interrupted him. “I have nothing else for you, except this. As for magic crystals, you have plenty of ways to get them in the future.” This said, she took out a black box from her space ring and passed it to Han Jin.
Han Jin did not take it. Instead, he let out a sigh. “I don’t know why you are so stubborn. Are you still trying to protect them?” He now regretted his indecisiveness. He should have driven those villagers away earlier. If he had done so, they might have not fallen into such a difficult situation.
Sunier made no reply. Her right hand was still up in the air, firmly holding the box. Cessacioun and Michelle also came over. “Go, Raphael. The result will be the same even if you stay.”
An irritable mood brewed in Han Jin’s heart. He had been in this world for over half a year, and the greatest gain he had achieved were these friends. Should he really give them up? He might be young and could make new friends in the future, but what if this kind of situation occurred again? Would he give them up again?
“Listen to us.” Sunier smiled and grabbed his hand, trying to put the box into it.
Han Jin suddenly waved his arm and knocked the box away. Luckily, the box was solidly built. It rolled onto the ground, but it was still intact.
“You…” Sunier was flabbergasted and didn’t know what to say.
Han Jin didn’t reply to her any more. He looked up at the sky. It was unacceptable for him to leave right now, but it was also unacceptable to die in such a hasty way. If the situation was really that hopeless, he would choose to live on and avenge his friends in the future, but as for what he should do now, he didn’t know. He was really at a loss.
While they were arguing, the black dots had approached them. Sunier let out a sigh, bent down, and picked up the little box. The others either unsheathed their swords or raised their magic wands. Regardless of the situation, they were professionals. Though not very powerful yet, they would never go down without a fight.
The dark cloud proceeded to fly over them without a single pause. The scene was so strange that no one present understood what had just happened.
Cessacioun had already released his Magic Shield. Now, he was holding his magic wand, looking blankly at the sky, and not knowing what to do next. Moxinke nearly dropped his giant sword onto the ground. His mouth was open so wide it could fit a fist. Han Jin’s hands, which were tightly clenched in a special shape, were frozen. Fortunately, his mental state was much more mature than his energy accumulation, otherwise, he probably would have lost his mind.
Compared to them, the villagers processed the situation quickly. The crowd burst into cheers. Even those too tired to get up and those still with tears on their faces stood up, shouting and jumping to vent their joyfulness for their lucky survival from a slaughter.
Han Jin didn’t know whether to laugh or to cry. What the hell was that? They had been in such a desperate situation, to the point of which people had started to hand off their ‘inheritance’, and those monsters had just left without a sound, as if they just had just flown over to say hi…
What they had done turned out to be a farce. Han Jin turned around and saw the befuddled expressions on his companions’ faces. His own must be the same.
He was about to speak when an idea popped into his head. “Moxinke, take everyone and leave right now. Reg, what about your wounds? Let Moxinke carry you. You two lead the way in front. We should not follow the main road any more. Try to find some other paths.”
“Okay,” Reg replied quickly.
Seeing the anxious look on Han Jin’s face, Moxinke immediately shouted without asking more, “If you don’t want to die, get up and follow me right now! Hurry up!”
“Sunier, stay here with me.” Han Jin paused. “Who has mirrors?”
“What kind of mirrors?” Keeley asked.
“Any kind will do.”
“I have two.” This said, Keeley took one out from her pocket and another from her package, and handed them to Han Jin.
“Does anyone else have mirrors?” Han Jin asked in a loud voice.
The villages passed all their mirrors to Han Jin. A moment later, a dozen mirrors were in Han Jin’s hand. He picked up nine with a similar size. Though the mirrors had different shapes and qualities, it was not the right time for him to be hypercritical.
Han Jin moved his fingers in midair at a fast speed and drew one symbol after another, all of which were sealed into the mirrors in the end.
The villagers realized that they were still in great danger when they heard Moxinke’s shouting. They all struggled up and closely followed him. The environment around them finally quieted down.
Han Jin cast a glance around and shouted, “Go!” The nine mirrors were thrown out. They rapidly swirled around in midair and turned into nine rays of glaring light after the loud sound of an explosion.
The flowing light uniformly shot out in nine directions. They flew for about a hundred meters, then dropped onto the ground at the same time.
“What kind of magic was that?” Sunier asked in surprise.
“A simple ruse.” Han Jin looked at Sunier. She used to be lukewarm when talking with them in the past. Now that her mask had been taken off, Han Jin could clearly see the rich expressions on her face.
Sunier seemed a little bit uneasy when she noticed Han Jin was staring at her. She put on her mask again.
“Why do you still wear that thing?”
“What do you know?” Sunier replied icily.
Han Jin cracked a smile. “Lend me your green magic crystal one more time, please.”
Sunier threw it to him after a wave of her wrist. “Be quick!”
“I’m more anxious than you.” Han Jin smiled. He mentally went through all the charms recorded in the chapters of Inner Secret: Ding and Jia, and selected one that was appropriate. He then took out a piece of wood which was cut from the Treefolk, and started to carefully carve.
A moment later, a vivid little turtle appeared in Han Jin’s hand. He drew a Charm of Holy Tortoise, put it into the little turtle, and then threw it away.
After a sweeping and shocking fluctuation, a giant animal appeared on the field. It was a magnified turtle, the size of which was thousands of times larger than an ordinary one, with nearly three meters in height and a huge shell over five meters in diameter. The surface of its shell was flat with no curve and could accommodate around ten or more people.
Sunier was startled by this giant animal, even though she had mentally prepared for this. She immediately stepped back two paces. “What’s… this?”
Han Jin jumped onto its back, smiling. “Come up.”
Three meters was nothing for Sunier. The next moment, she dropped down on the turtle’s back. She curiously stroked it. “I have never seen this kind of puppet. It must be very powerful in fighting, isn’t it?”
“Not at all. It’s more like a carriage for me.” This said, Han Jin pointed his finger forward. The giant turtle started to move. Its speed became faster and faster.
Sunier slowly sat down. The giant turtle had departed from the main road and had run into the wild field. Despite it running, its back was surprisingly stable. Sunier could only occasionally feel a slight bump.
“Why didn’t you summon this thing before?” She grumbled with an unhappy tone. The continuous running these days had made her sweat, which had annoyed her quite a lot.
“It’s hard to explain… There are too many things in here.” Han Jin pointed to his own head. “If Reg hadn’t given me the idea, I wouldn’t have thought about this.” He cracked a bitter smile.
“You mean you have mastered too many kinds of magic?”
“You may think so,” Han Jin answered casually.
“Oh…” Sunier smiled in an unfriendly way. Han Jin was too proud of himself.
“You once told me that you were curious about how far I could go.” Han Jin smiled. “I can promise you that this is not the first surprise, nor the last.”
