With his status as a class representative, Michael was able to ascend the stairs to the top floor of the castle without any issues. Yet as he reached the familiar corridor that led towards the student council room and eventually the headmaster’s office—his face paled.

His eyes glanced at the frames along the walls, knowing that he’d have to pass through the portraits of previous headmaster’s. Just remembering the constant badgering of a particular old man brought on a headache.

There’s no use in hesitating…

Michael took a deep breath, lowering his body slightly into a ready pose. With intense concentration, he sent mana into his legs, ensuring that there was just the right amount of saturation.

And then, he kicked off the ground hard.

He accelerated with great speed, causing the wind to ruffle through his blond hair as he zoomed past the portraits upon the wall.

“What the hell was that!?”

Michael heard a few exclamations of shock behind him, but he had no intentions of stopping—not until he reached the headmaster’s office at least.

Thankfully, the rows of portraits were only finite and he was soon able to slow down his speed. It would be a little awkward if he were to be caught by someone running in the halls, especially after enhancing himself with mana.

Letting out a small sigh of relief, Michael calmly walked towards the door at the end of the corridor. He had been here before, but on both occasions he had been teleported with spatial magic.

If it weren’t for the fact he knew the layout of the upper floors, he might have found it difficult to locate the man’s office.

He raised a hand, about to knock on the door—but then he froze.

Wait, don’t I need an appointment or something?

He thought, paling considerably. Was the headmaster someone he could just approach without such a thing?

But how would I even contact him to organize an appointment in the first place?

As Michael’s inner thoughts were in turmoil, the door suddenly opened, causing him to jump in surprise. The first thing that struck out to him was the long silky red hair that fell over her shoulders, blending in with her crimson robe.

Her face was youthful and vibrant, yet her hazel eyes seemed to contain a vast intelligence and wealth of experience that one would not expect from someone so young.

“Can I help you?” She asked, her voice soothing, almost wrapping around his mind in that moment.

“I…” Michael struggled to formulate words, his mind turning blank.

As he stared in stunned silence at the woman in front of him, he saw her expression shift slightly. Her intelligent hazel eyes began to examine him more thoroughly before a look of recognition crept onto her face.

“Ah, you’re that boy—the one who cast that ancient spell.” She said, pointing at him.

“Eh?”

Wait, how does she know about that? Only Professor Stark and the headmaster should know… Michael panicked inwardly, not sure how to respond.

The woman frowned, seemingly annoyed for a moment, “Mitchell? Or was it Mikhail?”

She’s heard of me? Does that mean she’s close with the headmaster? Now that I think about it, they look a little similar…

Of course it was rather difficult to compare since Bartholomew had a bushy beard that took up half of his face.

“M-michael,” he eventually stammered, finally managing to utter a complete word. “I’m sorry, but I don’t think we’ve met before.” He probed, not wanting to appear rude.

“Ah that’s right, Michael.” She said with a nod, giving a small smile. “My name is Sylvia, how can I help you?”

“I er… wanted to talk with the headmaster if he’s available.”

Sylvia shook her head, “Unfortunately, my brother is not in the academy at the moment. He’s quite busy with that scroll you handed over last semester.”

So I was right, they are related… This must be his younger sister then.

Hearing that he wouldn’t be able to talk with the man, Michael hid his disappointment and nodded. “That’s okay, I’ll just wait until he comes back.”

“I’m afraid even I don’t know when he’ll be back,” she replied with some regret, “but perhaps I can help you out?”

Michael’s eyes narrowed slightly. He didn’t know anything about this younger sister of the headmaster, therefore it could be a bad idea to trust her on such a sensitive topic.

Although… Melody mentioned that the Arcadius family only wanted knowledge and don’t care about fame, he thought, feeling a little torn.

“It has to do with my unique soul…” he mentioned, testing the waters. If the headmaster had revealed all this other information about him to his sister, perhaps she also knew about this.

“Oh, I can definitely assist you then,” she smiled, revealing two rows of shining white teeth. “Come in, let’s discuss this somewhere more private.”

The woman turned, finally revealing her full figure in front of Michael’s eyes. He hadn’t noticed it before because they were so close—but Sylvia was impressive. The black dress beneath her crimson robe hugged her figure tightly, revealing dangerous curves that threatened to send his mind reeling.

Her hips sashayed as she walked inside, muddying his thoughts.

Clearing his throat, Michael stepped through the threshold before closing the door behind him. Using this time, he composed his thoughts, not wanting to make a fool out of himself in front of the woman.

Damn it, is this some sort of seduction magic? He cursed inwardly, shaking his head thoroughly as if to remove the cobwebs slowing his thoughts.

Of course he had not ever heard of such a thing before, but perhaps it was a lost art, like healing magic and pill production—though he doubted it.

Thankfully, his mind cleared up after a few moments, their functions returning to normal.

“Please, take a seat.” She gestured, sitting behind the large mahogany desk in the center of the room. With a casual grace, Sylvia crossed one leg over the other, a warm smile upon her lips.
