The surrounding players watched with warm gazes. Talulah, embarrassed, released her and then turned to Xiao Ran A and the others, giving them a formal salute.

“Reunion owes you a debt. Thank you for your aid, adventurers.”

Alina watched the exchange with a quiet smile. Her hand slipped into her coat, fingertips brushing the handgun within—as if touching something warm and alive.
