“No matter.” He ran fingers through his thick black hair, lips curling into a cruel smile, “Better if you’re strong — killing you will only make me stronger! The strongest Knight under His Majesty should be me…”

Before finishing his boast, Driscoll struck, backhanding a spirit spear that tore through the air toward Candice.
