Meanwhile, in Kandhaq…
Trigon fully emerged from the shrine, his massive body still dripping with lava. He was gigantic,a towering 300-meter monstrosity.
His four eyes slowly opened, settling on the Titans below.
Then he grinned.
He hovered over the deep pit within the shrine, his hand crackling with red energy. A massive portal, at least fifty meters in diameter, tore open in the air.
The moment it formed, hundreds of monstrous creatures poured out in waves, screeching into the dark sky.
Trigon descended from the shrine and landed on the ground with a thunderous boom. A violent shockwave rippled outward, kicking up dust and forcing the Titans to shield their eyes.
Without a word, he began walking toward Kandhaq City.
Each step sent tremors through the earth.
“What are those things?” Beast Boy asked, pointing at the creatures flooding out of the crimson portal.
“They’re demons,” Raven replied grimly. “He’s opened a gateway to his hellish dimension for the sole purpose of wreaking havoc on Earth.”
“How do we stop him?”
They turned to see Superman and Nina landing beside them. Moments later, Wonder Woman arrived, followed by a battered Cyborg and Hawkman. The Flash skidded to a stop nearby, with Martian Manhunter descending silently behind him.
“Great. The League’s back to its senses now,” Blue Beetle muttered.
“How do we stop that thing?” Superman asked again, gesturing toward Trigon in the distance.
“There’s only one way,” Raven said.
“You’re planning to seal him back, aren’t you?” Robin asked.
“Yes. In the unlikely event that I make it there,” Raven replied calmly as she opened a portal.
“We’ll accompany you,” Starfire said immediately.
Raven turned to Cyborg. “We need you to buy us some time. Can you do that?”
“Yes,” Superman answered before Cyborg could. “But you need to make it quick. We don’t know how long we can hold him.”
“Thena, Terra,go with them as well,” Nina said. “You won’t be very helpful here.”
“And be careful,” Wonder Woman added.
“We will,” Thena replied.
The Titans and their allies stepped through Raven’s portal. It snapped shut behind them.
Superman turned to the remaining heroes , and to Nina.
“Nina, do you have anything in your arsenal that can take out those things?” he asked, glancing at the swarm of demons spilling from the portal.
“If you mean a large-area attack, then yes,” Nina said. “But I think it would be better if you and I lead the assault against Trigon while the others handle the demons, with assistance from my clones.”
“Alright then,” Superman said. “Let’s go.”
He shot into the sky toward Trigon.
The others moved toward the portal, engaging the demonic horde.
Nina formed twenty shadow clones. They nodded in unison before sprinting toward the battlefield to reinforce the heroes.
Three remained behind.
They sat cross-legged on the ground and began gathering energy.
Nina gave them one last glance.
Then she launched herself into the sky after Superman.
——
Superman flew toward a nearby mountain, dove straight through it, and lifted it from within. Rock and debris cascaded down as he burst back into the sky, carrying the massive chunk of earth overhead.
He accelerated toward Trigon.
When he was close enough, he hurled the mountain at the demon’s head.
It crashed against Trigon’s skull with a thunderous impact, shattering into thousands of pieces.
Trigon stopped.
Annoyed.
Superman shattered the sound barrier and drove a clean punch into Trigon’s left cheek, snapping the demon’s head slightly to the side. Riding the momentum, he pushed forward, gathering even more speed to land another blow.
But a massive backhand caught him mid-charge.
Superman was sent hurtling into the ground, carving a deep trench through stone and sand before finally skidding to a halt. He groaned, forcing his eyes open just in time to see a colossal foot descending toward him.
He shot out of the way at the last second as Trigon’s foot slammed down, cracking the earth.
Trigon continued walking.
‘Man, this guy is strong’, Superman thought as he rose into the air again. We can’t even slow him down.
Then his eyes caught something tearing through the clouds at incredible speed.
Nina’s Susanoo.
It burst from the cloud cover and dive-bombed straight into Trigon’s back.
The impact was immense.
A violent shockwave exploded outward, blasting sand and debris away from Trigon in every direction. The force made him stumble forward before he caught himself on his hands.
Nina’s Susanoo flipped midair and landed in front of him.
Two massive katanas formed in its hands.
Trigon slowly rose to his full height.
Although Nina’s Susanoo stood at an imposing 120 meters tall, it was nothing compared to Trigon. Standing on the ground, it barely reached past his knees.
With a powerful flap of its wings, the Susanoo soared upward. It raised both katanas high and brought them down with tremendous force.
Trigon lifted a single arm and blocked the strike.
The collision sent a massive shockwave rippling outward, splitting the ground behind him.
Superman seized the opening.
He shot in from behind and drove a punch into the back of Trigon’s knee.
The demon involuntarily dropped to one knee.
Trigon frowned.
His four eyes began to glow brighter.
Two crimson beams tore through the air.
Nina cursed and crossed the katanas just in time.
The beams slammed into the blades, forcing the Susanoo backward and driving it skyward under the sheer pressure. Cracks spiderwebbed across the swords.
Then they shattered.
The beams continued forward, slicing through the Perfect Susanoo like a hot knife through butter.
Nina abandoned the Susanoo as it dispersed into fading light. She crossed her arms in front of her chest and shouted.
“Seventh Gate of Shock… Open!”
A blue aura erupted around her, steam rising from her skin as chakra surged violently through her body.
She looked down just in time to see Superman unleash his heat vision directly into Trigon’s face.
It did nothing.
Trigon casually swatted him aside, sending Superman hurtling straight toward her.
Nina caught him midair and steadied him.
“You alright?” she asked.
“I’m fine,” Superman replied, regaining his balance.
“We need to coordinate our attacks,” Nina said seriously. “Strike at the same time from different angles. With his size, he won’t be able to catch us both.”
Superman nodded.
“Follow my lead.”
They split instantly.
A thick crimson beam tore between them, barely missing as they dove in opposite directions.
They shot upward.
Then lunged forward simultaneously, both driving uppercuts into Trigon with everything they had.
Bang!
Trigon stumbled backward.
Superman veered left. Nina went right.
They struck again, twin punches smashing into Trigon’s face from opposite sides, snapping his head back and forth and briefly disorienting him.
Without pause, they ascended once more before diving down together.
“Haaah!”
Their fists slammed into Trigon’s chest at the same time.
Boom!
The demon skidded backward across the desert floor.
Nina and Superman exchanged a quick glance and nodded, preparing to press the attack.
“RAHHHHHH!”
Trigon roared.
His entire body glowed crimson.
A massive sphere of red energy expanded outward from him, rapidly engulfing everything in its path.
Nina’s eyes widened.
Knowing Superman’s vulnerability to magic, she instantly reactivated her Susanoo, wrapping it around both of them just as the expanding sphere detonated.
The explosion was catastrophic.
A shockwave tore across the desert, reaching Kandhaq City and toppling several skyscrapers in the distance.
When the light finally faded, Nina and Superman hovered in the air, breathing heavily.
Superman’s suit was torn in several places. Nina’s clothes were ripped and scorched.
If she hadn’t used the Susanoo as a shield, they would be in far worse condition.
“Buy me some time,” Nina said between breaths. “I’m ready to give him everything I’ve got. Move out of the way as soon as I launch my attack.”
She formed a shadow clone.
It dispelled almost instantly.
Far in the distance, the three clones that had been gathering natural energy burst apart as well, all of it flowing back into Nina at once.
Power surged through her.She extended her hand.
A Rasengan formed.
Then it began to screech.
The sphere morphed, expanding outward into a massive Rasenshuriken. The whistling sound grew sharper, more violent, distorting the air around it as it continued to grow above her raised hand.
