Michael and Leo both followed behind Iris. Looking at where she was heading, it wasn’t hard to guess she wanted to see that mansion.
The mansion wasn’t far, so as soon as they stepped outside, all three saw a large, spacious house right in front of them. Although it didn’t have many intricate details, it was still very balanced and beautiful in a simple way.
“Did that old man change or what? Why would he have the free time to build such a big house?”
Michael had been lying in bed for these past two weeks. Although he heard noises outside, he didn’t understand what Raphael was doing.
“How would I know? Go ask him.”
Leo shrugged and shook his head. He had the same question. He even thought it might be because the house was getting crowded, so they needed to upgrade a bit.
“We’ll know when we go see.”
As the person who understood the situation best, she didn’t want to say anything either. Anyway, checking out the mansion first and then showing off wouldn’t be too late.
Just as they got close to the mansion, all three saw Raphael carving wood, seemingly making some furniture.
Leo and Michael were very surprised by this scene. This was the first time they had seen Raphael seriously do stuff like this.
Before, the beds in the house were just pretty flat rocks, like they’d been cut off by a slash. As for other furniture, forget it. Most of it was stuff the villagers didn’t need that the two of them had begged for.
“See? I didn’t do too bad, right?”
Seeing the ‘homeowner’ arrive, Raphael spoke up to greet them.
“Yeah, a lot better than I thought. At first I thought you’d just hammer some big stakes into the ground and find some leaves to cover it.”
Iris nodded in satisfaction. A place to live like this, compared to where Leo and Michael lived, was already ‘eighteen thousand miles’ ahead. Just having a sense of superiority over the other two gods combined made her happy.
Leo and Michael listened blankly to the conversation between the two. Seems like Raphael didn’t just suddenly get the idea but had planned this from before.
“Hey, after six years you finally agree to build a new house for me to live in? Since when did you have this kind of thought?”
According to Leo, Raphael couldn’t blame it on him getting hurt. Except for when he was knocked unconscious, afterwards he just needed to use a little bit of strength to have a proper house.
This wasn’t an exaggeration. Just look at the big rock he cut through to make a bed. Anyone would understand he was still extremely strong back then.
“Hmph, you think pretty highly of yourself. What do you think you are that I have to build a house for you to live in?”
Raphael snorted, not giving Leo an ounce of respect. He himself didn’t feel he did anything wrong because the house he lived in before was built by someone else. That old man Gabriel never built a house for him either.
???
Not for me? Then for who?
Leo and Michael, without agreeing to, both looked at Iris at the same time. Now they understood, clearly Raphael did all this because of Iris.
“I really don’t know if I’m your biological son or not. You actually did this much for someone you just met not long ago. This really shocks me, you know.”
Leo mumbled, his tone a bit sarcastic. Of course, teasing Raphael was the main point. He wasn’t a kid who gets jealous over silly stuff like this.
“I guarantee your body is my biological son. As for the soul, I don’t know. Anyway, no human has the ability to give birth to a soul.”
Raphael’s eyes, full of deep meaning, stared at Leo. But Leo didn’t feel guilty at all. The two of them had long had an unspoken understanding.
Raphael agreed Leo was his son and Leo also agreed Raphael was his father. So actually there wasn’t any really big problem in the relationship between the two of them.
“You guys stop talking nonsense. Quickly get out of the way so I can show off… I mean, so I can let you two ‘country kids’ see what a real house is.”
Of course, as always, Iris didn’t care what the two of them thought and directly pulled both of them inside the mansion.
Inside, it looked pretty good. There were extra rooms for all four of them to stay in. It was just a bit empty because no furniture had been placed inside yet.
Leo didn’t have much of an opinion because he’d spent his whole life wandering and sleeping in the mountains and forests. But Michael felt really annoyed watching the person he hated non-stop showing off like that.
What annoyed Michael the most was that she wasn’t exaggerating. Everything she showed off was real and was way better than him.
“Living alone in a big house like this, cleaning will ‘kill’ you.”
Michael pouted, trying to find a flaw. Even if he got beaten, he couldn’t let her keep being smug.
“Huh?”
Iris was a bit stunned. She really hadn’t considered this factor. She used to live in the forest, so cleaning meant nothing. Besides, his taunt gave her a pretty good idea.
“You’re not wrong. So you will become the person who helps me do everything in the house. Like you said before. Cooking, cleaning, or whatever miscellaneous stuff, you do it all. In return, I’ll let you stay in this house.”
Suddenly being given a ‘job’ like this caught Michael off guard.
“Hmph, why should I do it? You think you have the right to force me?”
With his stubborn temper, he absolutely wouldn’t give in easily.
“The reason you do it is because I want you to. Now I really do have the right to force you. Who told you to be so weak? Besides, this is your ‘training’ content.”
At the mention of training, the veins on Michael’s forehead bulged. He hadn’t had a single moment where he felt she actually seemed like a trainer.
She only ever bullied him, only ever found excuses to beat him up. On top of that, she constantly tortured his spirit whenever she had the chance.
“You… You… Fine, there will be a day I make you pay. Hmph!”
Michael snorted and then angrily walked away. He had no interest in watching anymore because in a few days he’d really have to move house to this place anyway. If he didn’t leave, Iris would definitely beat him until he agreed to go.
