Chapter 273: Sneaking In

Outside the protectorate administrative building, Lu Mingshu hid on a rooftop, hugging her sword.

Zhou Ruying was beside her, sitting in an ugly posture as if she was at home.

Lu Mingshu looked up at the sky. Even though there’s not many, there are still people who care about me.

“Good for you! If I die, I doubt anyone would care.” Zhou Ruying looked up too.

“That’s why you can’t die.”

Zhou Ruying stared at her, dumbfounded. She then regained her senses and laughed. “True, true. Before someone cares about me, I can’t die.”

Zhou Ruying and Lu Mingshu flashed forward, both moving toward a cart carrying fruits that had already been checked, and hid.

After a few moments, the pigs were caught and placed back on the cart.

Zhou Ruying looked out. She threw a stone and knew that it was currently safe for her to go out.

Yan Fei told them that, in the protectorate administrative building, there was very tight security. They would cast a spell that allowed them to count heads in the building very quickly. That number must then match the data of who was supposed to be inside.

Even though they managed to sneak in, it wasn’t complete.

After some time, when the guards realized the numbers didn’t match, they would start to do a check.

They only stopped when they came to a garden and hid behind an artificial hill that was put up for decoration.

Lu Mingshu side-eyed her in disdain.

Seeing that, Zhou Ruying grumbled. “It better be, or I’ll-”

“Not everyone has a poor sense of direction like you,” Lu Mingshu whispered. “Be patient. How are you even an assassin?”

“Hey!” Zhou Ruying flared up. “What did you just say?”

“Shush!” Lu Mingshu covered her mouth to prevent her from continuing.

Both of them quieted down and hid patiently behind the hill. Suddenly, footsteps could be heard.

“Gentleman Yan, you’re too kind. You always bring us so many gifts.” A man’s voice could be heard.

“It’s my duty.” Yan Fei’s deep voice could then be heard. “If not for Manager Xu, Fallen Angel Restaurant would not have such good business.”

“Gentleman Yan is…” After a few words, the man changed topics. “This is Gentleman Yan’s personal servant? Such outstanding beauty!”

“If Manager Xu likes, I’ll let her serve you,” Yan Fei said softly. “Xiao Hua, greet Manager Xu.”

“Xiao Hua greets Manager Xu.” It was Ling Wuxia’s voice.

Lu Mingshu and Zhou Ruying exchanged a glance, and they could see each other grinning.
