After exiting the house, she saw an old man with snowy white hair seating on his lawn, busking in the sun.

“洪家阿爷.”她走过去打招呼.

“Grandfather Hong.” She went over to greet him.

老爷子抬头看着她,好半天才道:”哟,这不是陆家丫头吗?又俊了啊!” The old man stared at her for a moment.

Lu Mingshu stared at him blankly.

却听老爷子继续道:”你爹呢?好些日子不见了.” “Where’s your father, I have not seen him for quite a long time!”   她眼睛酸涩.这家老爷子,跟阿爷交情不错,想必是把她当成娘了.

Lu Mingshu felt her eyes turning watery.

This old man is a close friend of her grandfather, he must have mistaken her as her mother.

“阿爹,你在跟谁说话?”里头传来妇人的声音,出来看到陆明舒,觉得眼熟得很,又想不起哪里见过——肯定是看错了,这姑娘跟仙子似的,清风镇哪里有这样的人物呢?县城里都没见过.

Afraid of Lu Mingshu’s aura and greedy for the money, the woman smiled thinly and rushed to get two chairs for them.

He grinned from ear to ear.

“It’s a good year, huh?

You would have money for your wedding!”   陆明舒却道:”我不想嫁哩!” “I don’t want to get married!” Lu Mingshu whined.

“哎,”老爷子奇道,”你不是挺喜欢付家那小子的?” “Eh?” The old man looks at her curiously.

“Don’t you fancy the Fu family’s son?”   陆明舒顺着语势道:”他心不诚!” “He is not honest!” Lu Mingshu pouted.

老爷子咋咋嘴:”你这丫头,眼睛挺利索的,我早劝过你爹了,那小子心大,怕是留不住.” The old man nodded and smiled.

妇人露出一个尴尬的笑:”你和你娘长得真像,都认错了.”见她不说话,又道,”你们娘儿俩这是寻到亲了?你娘呢?” Aunty hong flashed her an awkward smile.

“You resembles your mother a lot, even I was confused.” Seeing that Lu Mingshu did not reply, she continued.

“So it was successful?

Where’s your mother?”   “病故了.”她语气漠然,”找到我爹当天就病故了.” “Died of illness.” She said calmly.

“The day when she found my father.”   “哟,这可真是…”妇人顿了顿,没话找话,”还好你找到爹了.” “Haish is such a pity….” After an awkward silence, aunty hong broke it.

“Still you have found your father.

That’s good.”   “嗯.”陆明舒看着她,”伯娘想必很清楚我爹的事吧?能不能和我说说?” “Yeah.” Lu Mingshu smiled.

出了清风镇,元榕时不时地扫向陆明舒.

As they exit the town, Yuan Rong kept glancing at Lu Mingshu.

She immediately realised her mistake and look at Lu Mingshu in shock.

这么天然呆,陆明舒都不想骂她了,只叹了口气:”元师妹,本来你不这么说,我还不会灭口,你这么说了…” ~Cute yet stupid.~ Lu Mingshu do not even have the heart to scold her.

She sigh.

“Junior sister Yuan, this was not even on my mind but now that you mentioned it….”   元榕被吓呆了,结结巴巴:”陆,陆师姐,我保证不说出去,保证…” Yuan Rong jumped out of her skin.

“Senior, senior sister Lu, I promise, I promise I’ll keep it a secret…..” She stammered.

“你这样,谁知道会不会说漏嘴呢?” “But with your character, who knows?”   元榕哑了:”我,我…” Yuan Rong became speechless.

“I,I….”   看她吓得厉害,陆明舒没心思逗得她了:”好了,我不会灭口的.”没等元榕放心,话一转,”不过,你得立个誓.” Seeing her turning white, Lu Mingshu can’t bear to tease her anymore.

“Okay I won’t.” But before Yuan Rong could heave a sigh of relief, she added.
