Chapter 410: Priorities
Jadis jolted upright as she came to her senses. The transition from whatever plane of existence D lived in back to Oros was also harsh, though it was slightly easier this time around since she only had to adjust to having three selves again rather than a height difference as well. She was still confused about that aspect of her spiritual trip, but she had more pressing concerns to grab her attention.
“Oh!” Eir yelped as Syd jerked back slightly. “Jadis!”
“Shit, sorry,” Syd apologized as she squeezed the elf that she held in her arms. “Are you okay?”
“I am fine,” Eir replied, her voice breathless from the ritual. “Did everything go as expected?”
“In as much as I never know what to expect when talking to D,” Jay muttered as she righted herself from having her head in Eir’s lap. “But I got some answers.”
“That’s good,” Eir smiled, then shuddered as Syd’s still very erect cock twitched inside of her. “I—I hope that the answers will be of some help in tracking down the cultists. Did you also have a question to spare for your tertiary class?”
“I did,” Jay grinned before leaning in and giving her lover a kiss. “Though it’s going to require some investigation. First, I need to tell Wilhelm what D said about the cultists. It’s definitely time sensitive.”
“And after that,” Syd let out a sigh of pleasure as she felt Eir’s insides squeeze around her rigid member. “We need to continue what we are doing here, because I’m feeling pretty fucking pent up right now.”
“After all that?” Eir asked coquettishly while rubbing her bum against Syd’s groin. “You aren’t satisfied?”
“No such thing,” Syd growled as she palmed one of Eir’s heavy breasts and squeezed the pleasant weight. “Not when it comes to my desire for you.”
While her elven lover moaned lewdly under Syd’s attention, Dys took a moment to calm herself. The nature of Eir’s oracle ritual meant that Jadis could help her perform the raunchy spell with just two of her selves. Dys, the part of her that had drawn the unlucky straw, had sat the fun out and had instead waited in the antechamber to the private lounge in Lyssandria’s temple that Wilhelm and his companions were waiting for her in. All of Jadis’ lovers other than Eir were also waiting in the room, leaving Dys to suffer alone.
And it was suffering, no doubt. Jadis had the ability to experience pleasure through each of her bodies separately; when one orgasmed, that didn’t mean the others necessarily did as well. However, it was still an incredible challenge to keep one of her selves completely chaste while the other two were getting to bathe Eir in licentious attentions. Jadis had chosen to keep Dys alone, shunning all offers of company from her other lovers. She hadn’t wanted to deal with the temptation, not when she needed to pass along the information of her divine conversation to the Hero.
“I got the info,” Dys announced as she threw open the door to the room where everyone was waiting.
“Good!” Wilhelm said with a slight flush on his cheeks. Apparently, he was still a bit frazzled by the idea of what Jadis and Eir had been up to while they had all been waiting. “What guidance has Destarious given us?”
“He was being cryptic, as usual,” Dys explained as everyone cut off their conversations and oriented onto her. “First question was sort of a waste. The cultists don’t have a base in the city anymore. Packed up and gone, so D wouldn’t give me any details on that location.”
“Of course,” Halvor growled with annoyance. “The rats would have wasted no time in their flight.”
“What about the follow up question?” Wilhelm asked.
“In the cabin of a ship sailing west,” Dys told him and the rest of the room. “D said to get moving fast if you want to catch them.”
“They could be nearing Glitnir by now,” Ludger said, already heading for the door.
“There can’t be that many ships that have left since the attack, though,” Aila pointed out. “You should check with the port authorities to see which vessels have recently departed.”
“An excellent idea,” Tiernan grinned at Aila as he nabbed his broad-brimmed hat off of the table he had been sitting at. “Leave it to a fellow wizard to have a sensible idea!”
“We will have to set out immediately,” Rein spoke up as he chased right after Ludger out the door. “We will need mages to increase our ship speed, so we can ask the port authority while we are there.”
“We may want to send some combat-trained Seraphim with Wilhelm on ahead,” Lucia advised as she joined the others on their quick departure. “They will be able to move faster in the skies, so long as the weather stays clear.”
As the majority of his party left the room, Wilhelm took a step closer to Dys.
“What of the third question? Any further information?”
“I used the last one for my class,” Dys confessed. She’d been upfront from the beginning that she likely would unless she had no other choice, so the admission held no surprises. “I figured that the ship info is enough to get you your lead.”
“It is,” the well-mannered man nodded in thanks. “And I do not blame you in the least for using at least one question for your own unique situation. Thank you for all of your help.”
“Hey, happy to help,” Dys grinned down at the Hero. “We’re on the same side, after all.”
“We will return soon,” Wilhelm smiled at her before quickly following after his already departed companions.
Other than Jadis’ own lovers, the only two of Wilhelm’s party to remain behind were Jocelyn and Amarantha. While the Lares waited by the door, the quiet blonde folded her hands in front of herself as she gave Dys a small bow.
“You have my thanks as well. I promise you that if you are still in need of a god’s guidance, I will perform my oracle’s ritual with you as soon as it is available and we have returned from our expedition to chase down these cultists. Even if Wilhelm and the others are not done with their duty, I will return for you.”
“Thanks,” Dys smiled at the earnest young woman. “I don’t know for sure yet if we will need the help or not; I need to discuss what my question was and what D answered as well as what was implied by other circumstances of the visit. If it turns out I don’t need your help, I’ll make sure the message gets to you.”
“Of course,” Jocelyn said with another little bow. “Then I should hurry after the others before I am left behind or one of them comes chasing after me.
While the Hero’s Oracle rushed to grab her coat from the chair where she had been sitting, Amarantha called out to Dys.
“Hey, you aren’t going to leave a tasty morsel like that dangling in front of me, are you? What advice did ‘D’ offer you for your classes?”
“Something that’s actually cryptic, far more than what he said about the cultists,” Dys frowned while she crossed her arms. “I need to seek out a lamb guided by a moon, whatever that means. Not exactly a direct answer, but I’m sure I’ll figure out something.”
“Oh, perhaps Destarious meant Lady Una?” Jocelyn said off-handed as she hurried for the door. “That sounds like her, at least.”
“Who?” Dys asked, surprised to have been given a possible lead already.
“Lady Una is a Golem,” Amarantha answered her question. “She works for Hraustrekr.”
“She is also formed in the shape of a lamb,” Jocelyn said as she scooped her Lares companion up from the side table she had been sitting on. “Or a sheep, I suppose. And Golem’s are the children of Metethys, Goddess of the Moon! I hope she is the one Destarious meant for you to find! Fairwell!”
“Put me down!” Amarantha loudly complained, both her voice and Jocelyn’s echoing through the door as the Oracle sprinted away down the hall. “I can walk on my own!”
Dys let the two go, her attention focused on the information that Jocelyn had imparted. She’d be seeing at least Jocelyn again in less than a week, so she didn’t feel the need to chase her down. Certainly, the Oracle had given her as much of a lead as she had just given to the Hero and his party.
“A Golem shaped like a lamb,” Dys mused out loud. “That’s weird.”
“Not really,” Kerr shrugged as she leaned against the table while folding her arms. “I mean, Golems can come in any shape you can carve a rock into. I saw one once that looked like a giant ape with two heads. A sheep is a lot less weird compared to that fucker.”
“What, are they actually carved into existence like that? Or are they born that way? Wait, how do Golems even reproduce when they’re made of stone?”
“As fascinating that line of questions is,” Aila cleared her throat to get Dys’ attention. “I think that discussing what you asked and the nature of D’s answer is more relevant to the current situation.”
“You also said something about the circumstances of your visit being unusual?” Sorcha called out. “What’s that supposed to mean?”
“Right, right,” Dys nodded distractedly. “We better go over all that.”
Before she could start, however, she was interrupted by a knock at the still open door.
“I presume that the ritual has been completed and answers have been given?” High priestess Aurea asked as she leaned into the room. “The Hero and his companions seemed to be in quite the rush.”
“Yes, we got some info to go on,” Dys answered the curious priestess. “Maybe not all the answers, but enough for now.”
“That’s good to hear,” Aurea offered Dys a dazzling smile. “Is there anything else that any of you need? Dinner has not yet been served, but it will be shortly.”
“Actually,” Dys took a few steps closer to the voluptuous woman. “Can you see if we can get a meeting with Lady Una? She’s a Golem who serves Hraustrekr, apparently. She might be able to answer some questions that I have.”
“Of course,” Aurea nodded, her big eyes locked on Dys. “Anything else?”
“Can you also arrange to have Priestess Bertha visit us tomorrow morning?” Aila said as she came up on Dys’ left side. “We could use her services.”
“Oh?” Aurea’s attention snapped onto Aila. “Are you saying that your attempts these past few weeks have been fruitful?”
“Possibly,” Aila replied with a perfect deadpan. “We don’t want to get ahead of ourselves, but we would like Bertha to confirm something for us, if she can spare the time.”
“For the future of our Nephilim, I can assure you she will have the time,” Aurea touched the tall redhead warmly on the shoulder. “I will send her to your quarters in the morning.”
With that, Aurea departed and left them alone once more. Aila turned to look up at Dys, one eyebrow raised in question.
“So? What are the details?”
“Uh, let’s go over them while we walk,” Dys said as she motioned towards the door. “We should get back to our suite.”
“Why? We have been assured of this room’s privacy and security,” Aila asked, though she followed behind Dys as she started walking.
“Because I’m going to need get you and everyone else out of their clothes as soon as possible. For reasons.”
“Ah.”
“I s—suppose we do need to, ah, recharge,” Thea murmured as she and the others fell in line behind Dys and Aila.
“Probably hard to control yourself after having your way with Eir in the other room, too,” Kerr grinned with a naughty purr in her voice.
“That’s all true,” Dys agreed, “But more than that, I really, really just want to be with my lovers right now. Being around D kind of reminded me of that fact.”
“Pfft,” Bridget made a rude noise with her lips. “As though you ever go for more than five minutes without thinking about sex.”
“That’s true, too.”
“Stop distracting her,” Aila scolded. “Dys, talk. What happened with D?”
Thus admonished, she proceeded to fill them all in on what had happened during her visit to D’s house, doing her best to point out all the most relevant details. In particular, she made sure to repeat everything D and the other gods had said as accurately as possible. By the time they made it back to their shared room, Dys had managed to go over the majority of the unusual interaction, as well as field a few relevant questions. And some less relevant questions, too.
“Wait, Ulya looked like your grandmother?” Sabina asked curiously.
“No, not my grandmother,” Dys shook her head as she reached for the door to their suite. “Just sort of grandmotherly in general. The cat pattern on her dress was totally the kind of thing an old boomer would—oh shit.”
Dys slapped her palm to her forehead.
“What?” several voices chorused around her.
“She’s a cat lady,” Dys groaned. “Ulya’s avatars are cats. She’s totally a cat lady.”
“…but she looks like a human in your vision, right?” Sorcha questioned with a tilt to her head. “Not a cat?”
“Never mind,” Dys shook her head as she reached for the door again. “Just a phrase from my old home.”
“I assume ‘boomer’ is one of those phrases, too?” Aila asked, “because that’s quite an odd—”
Aila’s comment was cut off as the sounds of sex echoed in all of their ears the moment Dys opened the door. Loud moans of pleasure filled the air, along with the wet slap of sweaty skin on skin. The scent of sweet Nephilim cum mixed with elven juices wafted out the door as well, further adding to the level of lewdness that greeted them all.
“Sorry, should have warned you,” Dys shrugged as she walked into the bedroom, already shedding her shirt.
“You are not in the least bit sorry,” Aila said in a flat tone while her ears burned bright red.
“Yeah, not really.”
“But we still need to talk about what the conversation with the gods and D and all of that means, don’t we?” Sabina held up a finger as she stood in the doorway while everyone else filed inside. “I mean, isn’t it super important that Jadis decides which class she picks because of her mission and how it could affect the world and—”
“It can wait a few hours,” Kerr interrupted the half-elf as she pushed her out of the way before closing the door. “There’s always time for a sex break.”
“Correct… Priorities…” Alex agreed as she grinned at the therion.
“I knew we had a lot in common,” Kerr grinned back at her. “And also, I’ve been meaning to get my hands on you for a while now, Peepers. Or rather, get those tentacles onto me.”
“Oh, wow,” Sabina exclaimed as the horned woman gave the Demon a lewd leer. “Alex’s tentacles are rather phallic when you think about it. I suppose there are some creative ways she could pleasure someone if she were to put her mind to it. Actually, you’ve probably already done that with Jadis, haven’t you, Alex? What methods did you use? How many tentacles? You have an extra set of hands; how did you pleasure her while taking advantage of the extra dexterity multiple limbs offer?”
“How about you stop talking about it,” Kerr put an arm around Sabina’s neck, “and we find out together?”
