Chapter 156: Ester

With her eyes still closed, Ester took a deep breath… and all she could smell was him. It was a mixture of clean soap and something else… something spicier, almost dangerous. She shouldn’t like that smell. She shouldn’t like this. But she did. She liked it a lot.

Her arms, previously motionless, seemed to move on their own, rising to his shoulders and wrapping around his neck, pulling him closer.

Damon made a small noise in the back of his throat, a low, masculine, satisfied sound… and then he really pressed her against the wall, without any gentleness.

Her back ached for a second… but then the kiss became even more intense, and she forgot any pain. They just stayed there, in that hallway, her body pressed against his, his mouth on hers… and all those crazy thoughts she couldn’t control.
