Chapter 224 Your Fears Will Come Upon You!

“Damn that company!” Chen Fan looked up, tapped the back of Wang Bing’s head and said, “Start driving.”

“Alright.” Wang Bing collected his gaze and started the car.

Ping Hu Street was a 20 minutes car ride away from the company. The black BMW slid in between traffic smoothly and quickly, so it took them only 13 minutes to reach the destination.

Upon arrival, Chen Fan did not exit the vehicle. Instead, he remained in his seat, leisurely enjoying the view through the window. It was 11 o’clock sharp, 10 minutes before the appointment.

Shortly, about 5 minutes later, a beautiful girl with a voluptuous figure and an exquisite visage walked out of the entrance of the big building. The hot girl had long blond hair that stretched down till her bust line, and in between her fingers was a small milky-white colored notebook. She was standing in front of the stairs, occasionally looking down both ends of the road.

“Hello, gorgeous!” she heard a frivolous voice in a mish-mash of English and Mandarin. Then, the reckless man came right in front of her, face to face.

“Hooligan!” The girl poked the man’s forehead with her green-colored nails. She would’ve scratched a deep abyss on his face, if her strength had been at a hundred thousand fold!

“Did you miss me?” Chen Fan did not seem to be bothered by her innocuous anger.

“Why would I miss you? There’s no point in that!” Wu Ruoyu had her hands on her hips, her pretty cheeks puffed in anger. “I haven’t seen you for days. You were so ambiguous on the phone and online. Even the Kuomintang Spies aren’t as evasive as you!”

“Well, I’m here now!” Chen Fan stretched his arms open, hoping to embrace her thin waist, but she pushed him away with no sympathy.

“Hey, we’re at the entrance of the office!” Wu Ruoyu pushed him away hard, under the gazes of the passersby.

“Hehe.” Chen Fan laughed drily. He wanted to say something, but was suddenly interrupted by a breathless man who came out of nowhere.

“Brother Chen, Brother Chen. What a coincidence!” the high-spirited man exclaimed in excitement. He was wearing an all-white branded casual outfit, with a Vacheron Constantin watch on his wrist. He was the epitome of a ’golden bachelor’.

“You are?” Chen Fan had a bad memory when it came to men. After thinking long and hard, he raised his eyebrows and laughed. “Ah! Ah! You are Wei Jie!”

It took him a long time to recall who this man was. Wu Ruoyu once used Chen Fan as a human shield to evade this man. Later, they met again in a restaurant, where the man was tricked into gifting Chen Fan a bottle of Lafite.

“He he…” Wei Jie laughed awkwardly, not really knowing how to react. His humble approach was greeted with a “Do I know you?”, so how could he feel good after that?

Of course, he had at least a small amount of magnanimity. Maintaining his dignity, he faked a carefree laugh. “I don’t suppose that the both of you have eaten, so why don’t I treat you to a meal? I saw a new restaurant on the way here. They had two 40-meters long great white sharks on display. How irresistible!”

“Can Can Noodles?” Wei Jie’s expression was about to make Chen Fan and Wu Ruoyu truly understand the meaning of one’s being thick-skinned.

He was stunned for awhile, then started to ramble on about his interest in Can Can Noodles, as if he was talking about pretty girls. “That’s a fantastic idea. The last time I had Can Can Noodles, it was incredibly tasty. Shall we all go together? I know a place where they make excellent Can Can Noodles.”

“Well…” Wu Ruoyu was speechless, so she only could pass this onto Chen Fan.

Chen Fan caught Wu Ruoyu’s anxious gaze, and he stuttered, not knowing what to say for some time. In the end, he managed to stutter, “The weather, it’s too hot to eat those noodles…”

“Why don’t we eat something light, then?” Wei Jie was still smiling, as if they’d all agreed beforehand to dine together.

Wei Jie was no fool either. How could he not see that Wu Ruoyu was trying to ignore him? In fact, she probably hated him for being there making conversation. If it had been any other woman, he would have turned and walked away, as cool as a cucumber.

Well, all this he considered as not being particularly strange. After all, Wu Ruoyu was not some otherworldly ethereal fairy, and she liked to talk about things that men would find interesting, too. And, most people considered that her having a boyfriend was not as if she had a child, so he decided that it should not be that big of a deal!

But, he had to admit that when he found out that his crush had a boyfriend, he transformed into an alpha lion, who was ready to fight over his mate. Since then, he had been investigating the boyfriend in question, without rest!

It was clear that his target could not be locked down immediately. However, having such progress today meant that he was no fool either! On the contrary, his skills of reading body language were rather excellent! The main point was, the both of them were making eyes at each other, now that was suspicious!

Wu Ruoyu had no cousin, or at least she didn’t have a cousin that was of Chinese Nationality! She called Ma Rongtao her uncle. That probably meant that her father was the brother of Ma Rongtao’s wife. She seemed to call Chen Fan her maternal cousin, which meant that he was a cousin from her mother’s side. However, he had asked around and found out that her mother was French. So, how could she possibly have a Chinese maternal cousin?

“Something light… Why don’t we make it on another day, my treat!” Chen Fan scratched his head. As the saying goes, never slap the smiling person. He did not want to sound too harsh, “We had some plans…”

Before he could say “today”, Wei Jie interrupted him and expressed earnestly, “Brother Chen, I meant it when I wanted to buy you lunch, I wasn’t just trying to be courteous. Come on, just one meal. If worse comes to worst, then you can always treat me to another meal. I assure you, I won’t hesitate in accepting your invitation!”

“Wei Jie?” Wu Ruoyu was frowning, but Chen Fan stopped her.

“Then, let’s go. We shall go to the restaurant with two great white sharks!” he said with a poker face. He could not avoid this forever. Wei Jie was such a persistent fellow. He had to take the bullet for Wu Ruoyu.

“Great.” Wei Jie looked very happy, “Shall we also invite the missus?”

“Well…”. Chen Fan knew that he meant Yun Meng, and wanted to kick him, but he could not do it right then.

“Tell me, your missus. Oh no, who had he meant by missus?” she started firing questions the moment she stepped in the car.

“He meant Yun Meng. We met in the restaurant the other day, and he thought she was my girlfriend. He even gifted a bottle of Lafite to me. I didn’t have the energy to explain to him!”

Wang Bing grimaced in the front, as he was trying his best to hold in his laughter.

“Hmm, I’ll get even with you on this matter later!” said Wu Ruoyu, as she pinched hard on his arm. She was not sure if he was telling the truth or lying. If it was true, then she would be making trouble out of nothing.

The amount of wealth Wei Jie possessed was comparable to how senseless he was. More than a few girls stop to stare, as he drove his Porsche GT2 down the street.

As both cars arrived at Tian Ran Ju simultaneously, which was also the restaurant that Chen Fan invested in, the whole parking lot was filled with more than 20 luxury cars, and they just kept piling up. Needless to say, all of them were attracted by the two great white sharks.

No aquariums would dare breed these vicious creatures, as they could brutally tear other sharks into pieces. As for fishermen, whenever they caught great whites, there were only two options. They would either have to kill them immediately with a harpoon, or let the shark destroy the fishing net.

It was obvious that even Wu Ruoyu was amazed at how large their scale of wealth was. Her beautiful eyes were sparkling with disbelief.

“This restaurant belongs to me, isn’t that great?!” said Chen Fan, as he enjoyed her sense of amazement. He could not hide the satisfaction on his face.

“Tsk!” Wu Ruoyu rolled her eyes at him, then got out of the car.

“Shh…”. “Ah…”. “Bang…”.

As the three of them walked into the lobby, they could hear sounds of people trying to take advantage of the situation. There were even a few, who knew the business, that ran toward the center of the aquarium and made threatening gestures. They were so close, as if they wished that their eyeballs were in the tank.

“It’s wild, they’re all from the wild!” A few middle-aged men with shiny bald heads and big beer bellies gazed greedily at the sea cucumber. They even snatched the net from the waiters, ready to catch the fish themselves.

“Bro…Brother Chen, please order whatever you like!”.Wei Jie was obviously less enthusiastic. He was scanning all of the rich people in Zhong Yun in his mind, but he could not think of anyone who was this wealthy. But this didn’t stop him from feeling inferior in front of the six Chinese bahaba.

What you fear really comes for you. Chen Fan pretended to looked around, then said casually, “Let’s have one of those bahaba, as they look pretty good!”
