Chapter 57: FIRST SUBMISSION part two

Time blurred out and I don’t know how long we were in that clearing, how many times Reed used my body or how many times my Omega instincts betrayed me by responding to his touch.

All I knew was pain and pleasure twisted together until I couldn’t tell them apart. Reed was relentless, his rut demanded satisfaction and my heat responded in ways that made me hate myself.

When he finally pushed me onto my back on the forest floor, when he positioned himself between my legs, I was too exhausted to fight anymore.

“Please,” I whispered. “Please don’t—”

“Shh.” Reed’s hand came to my face, almost gentle. “It’s going to hurt but we need to end it. I promise we’ll keep feeling good as we keep going. Just hold on.”

“Reed—” He pushed his cock inside me again and I screamed. The pain was blinding because I was now swollen a bit and my body was already tired despite the continuous slick still coating my thighs and entrance and despite the heat burning through my system.

Reed stilled, and let me adjust this time, his forehead pressed against mine.

“Breathe,” Reed said roughly. “Just breathe, Asher.”

I gasped for air, tears streaming down my face.

“That’s it,” Reed murmured. He started to move, slow at first and careful. “That’s my good little Omega. Taking me so well.”

The words made something inside me break and mend at the same time.

Reed’s pace increased, his movements became more desperate and my body responded. My heat rose to meet his rut. My Omega instincts screamed for him to go deeper, harder, and faster.

“Reed,” I moaned, hating myself for it. “Reed, please—”

“I’ve got you.” Reed’s hand found mine. Threaded our fingers together. “I’ve got you, Asher. Just let go.”

His other hand slipped between our bodies. Touched me where I was hard and aching despite everything. The dual sensation was too much. I came with Reed’s name on my lips. My body clenched around him. My back arching off the ground. Reed groaned, his movements became erratic and desperate.

“Mine,” Reed growled. “You’re mine, Asher. Say it.”

“I’m yours,” I whispered. The words torn from somewhere deep inside me. Somewhere deep inside of me that recognized him as my Alpha. “I’m yours.”

Reed’s teeth found my throat, and bit down hard. The claiming mark.

The bond snapped into place like a rubber band stretched too tight, finally breaking. I felt Reed in my head, in my chest and in my very soul.

Mate.

Reed’s body locked against mine. The knot forming and trapping us together.

“Fuck,” Reed gasped, his release flooding into me. Hot and overwhelming and impossibly deep. “Asher. My Omega. Mine.”

We were stuck together, bound by the knot and the mate bond and something neither of us could take back.

Reed collapsed on top of me, careful not to crush me but too exhausted to move away.

I lay there beneath him, feeling his knot pulsing inside me, feeling the mark on my throat burning, feeling the bond singing in my chest and I cried.

Silent tears that Reed either didn’t notice or chose to ignore.

After what felt like hours, the knot finally released. Reed pulled out carefully and my body protested the loss even as my mind screamed in relief. Reed rolled onto his back beside me. Both of us staring up at the canopy of trees above. The moon was starting to set.

“That wasn’t—” Reed’s voice was hoarse. “I didn’t mean for it to be like that.”

I said nothing, I couldn’t speak past the lump in my throat.

“Your first time shouldn’t have been in the dirt during a rut and heat,” Reed continued. “But the bond—fuck, Asher. The bond is real. You felt it.”

I had felt it, I was still feeling it and I can feel Reed’s emotions bleeding into mine through the connection. The damn satisfaction, possessiveness and underneath it all, something that felt like regret.

“From now on,” Reed said quietly, “you belong to me.”

The words should have made me angry, it should have made me fight but instead, I just felt empty, hollow and used.

Reed sat up, standing still and I could tell he was planning on shifting into his wolf form. Ut

I just lay there, too exhausted to move and too broken to care.

“Morphed into your wolf,” Reed said, his voice back to being cold and commanding. “We need to get back to campus before people start asking questions.”

I forced myself to sit up, my body screamed in protest. Everything hurts. The mark on my throat was burning and I could feel Reed’s release dripping down my thighs. Evidence of what he’d done to me, evidence of what I’d let him do. I quickly morphed into my wolf form, there was no longer pain, I was now at ease.

Reed watched me, his expression unreadable.

“Don’t look at me like that,” I said quietly through the bond link.

“Like what?” He replied.

“Like you hate yourself for what you just did.” I met his eyes. “You don’t get to feel guilty, Reed. You made a choice. We both did.”

“Did we?” Reed’s jaw clenched. “Or did our biology make it for us?”

“Does it matter?” I stood on wobbly legs. “Either way, you got what you wanted. You claimed me, marked me and made me yours.”

Reed stood too and stepped closer. “Asher—”

“Don’t.” I backed away. “Don’t try to make this into something it’s not. You wanted to dominate me, to prove I was yours and to make me submit. Well, congratulations, you won.”

Reed stood in front of me and bared his teeth.

“From now on,” Reed said quietly, his grey eyes boring into mine, “you belong to me. The mark proves it. The bond proves it. Everyone at that Academy is going to know you’re mine.”

“Is that a threat?”

“It’s a promise.” Reed said before turning his back on me. “Now let’s go, we have a lot to figure out before sunrise.”

He turned and walked toward campus but I stood there for a moment longer, touching the mark on my throat and feeling the bond pulsing in my chest. Reed had claimed me, marked me, made me his and I had no idea what came next.
