“Yeah?” He had his shoulder grabbed all of a sudden by Lin Yueqi in a brotherly pose, but the tips of his ears had inexplicably gone red and his heart rate increased.

Lu Ting glanced at her long eyelashes and swallowed his saliva as he tried hard to keep his composure.

Lin Yueqi pinched his chin and said, “If the tactician of your enemies suddenly try to strike a deal with you on something you really want, would you accept the deal? And the premise is that the item must be worth more than everything else you have.”

“No.” As he said this, Lu Ting controlled the beats of his heart and his throat bobbed slightly. “There’s no tactician dumb enough for that. If he went to the trouble of coming to make a deal with me, then there’s even more reason for me to refuse. That only proves that what I have may not be of much value to myself, but it may be an indispensable existence to them.”

With that, Lin Yueqi understood. She snapped her fingers. “That’s right! I finally understand why that idiotic system would want to trade me for me negative energy. This proves that my negative energy could be useful to it. Qin Xue hates me so much but never thought about murdering me. She would always give me a way out at the very end. When I was at rock bottom, no crew or advertising company would take me, but Qin Xue’s ‘College Exam Competition’ did. Don’t you think that’s strange?”

“Yeah.” Lu Ting clearly didn’t understand her very well. He asked, “That’s a…system? And what does it have to do with negative energy?”

Lin Yueqi knew that Lu Ting was a non-believer so she waved her hands and said, “I can’t explain it. They’re all code names. Just think about it in the same sense as what I asked you earlier. I was just thinking about the reason why Qin Xue never fully crippled me. She wants me to stay in the entertainment industry in the most miserable way so she can grind and absorb my negative energy. If my guesses are correct, she’s doing this so she can obtain my negative energy for that system of hers.”

Lu Ting just about understood the gist of it. He said, “So this ‘negative energy’ is very important to her.”

Lin Yueqi snapped her fingers. “That’s right! And since it’s important to her, all the more I’m not supposed to give her any. I have to make myself happy, right?”

“Yeah.” Lu Ting had no idea what she meant by the system but he knew Lin Yueqi wanted to adjust her mood. He immediately grabbed the girl’s wrist and said, “Come, follow me outside.”

“For…For what?”

Lin Yueqi looked at the man’s “naughty” hand and said, “Men and women have to be distanced, you know?”
