Chapter 7: Changes are needed

His curiosity piqued, Cheon Areum spoke while ruffling Yoon Seoyul’s hair out of his eyes slowly with his hand.

“What is it?”

Standing a foot away from the couch, Rian clapped his hands as he revealed his hidden talent.

“I can mimic an eagle! Queeee…..!!”

“Keeeee-ah!”

Startled by the loud noise, Cheon Areum quickly covered Yoon Seoyul’s ears at the ear-piercing squeal; the sound almost vibrating his heart.

“You’re certainly multi-talented, Rian…”

He murmured, his ears close to ringing, thinking how lethal Rian’s hidden talent was.

“Right!”

Rian’s happiness was uncontaminated, brimming even more with smiles. He climbed onto the couch to hug him from the side, swaying him with himself.

“Let’s go and eat the chocolate cake, hyung.”

“Let’s have it after dinner.”

Not on par with Rian’s bursting energy now, Cheon Areum could only tiredly reply to him with less enthusiasm than usual. Hearing him, Rian stopped tugging on his clothes.

“No chocolate cake?….”

Rian gazed over with eyes full of pity, his expression devoid of joy but completely overpoweringly endearing.

“You can have it.”

Easily succumbing to the cuteness, the words left his mouth before he could even form a second thought. The smile returned just as soon on Rian’s face as he tried to skip over Yoon Seoyul’s body unsuccessfully—about to fall over from the couch. Yoon Seoyul’s hands caught him before anything else. Saving him from falling over, Yoon Seoyul settled him on the ground gently, but Rian—unaffected by everything—ran out of the living room to devour the chocolate cake. Basically, nothing could stop him from reaching that cake.

“I used to think you and Rian were quite different from each other, but that’s not true at all.”

Yoon Seoyul remarked, astonished by the speed Rian ran out of here. Cheon Areum pouted, seeing his empty lap.

“Why are you not sleeping?”

He whined, kicking his legs slightly, irked by Yoon Seoyul sitting up. He was sure he hadn’t slept a wink just now, which annoyed him even more. He itched to wreak havoc; his energy spiked with his mood, and the trail of energy he had sent out for the search cut off abruptly when Yoon Seoyul cupped his cheek with a hand tenderly and pecked it in apology.

“I’m sorry. I can’t sleep right now. I have to return to work.”

Cooling down with just a peck, Cheon Areum wrapped his limbs securely around Yoon Seoyul’s upper body.

“Take me with you.”

“You know I can’t do that…”

Lifting him from the couch, Yoon Seoyul carried him around just like this all the time whenever Cheon Areum wanted to act all sticky. Yoon Seoyul released his pheromones for him to calm down as he walked into the kitchen, where Rian had taken out the cake already and, with a fork, was digging in while standing on the counter stool. Coming over to his side, Yoon Seoyul adjusted him to sit on the stool.

“What did I say? You have to sit and eat.”

“I forgot.”

Mouth full of chocolate cake, Rian muttered without looking back at him and continued eating while swinging his legs happily. Clinging to him with all his might, Cheon Areum buried his face in Yoon Seoyul’s neck as he walked upstairs and to their bedroom.

“You’re going out again after changing?”

“Hm.”

Only after Yoon Seoyul needed to change his clothes did Cheon Areum detach himself from his body, stealing the shirt he had just taken off and getting in the bed with it.

“Honey… the baby will forget you if you stay away from it for this long…”

“I will stay home with you tomorrow and the day after it. I just have to take care of some urgent matters today first.”

Peeking out at Yoon Seoyul’s naked body as he changed with his eyes fully unpeeled, Cheon Areum narrowed his eyes.

“Why are you enticing me to get fucked then?”

“I’m not.”

“It’s alright. You can fuck me anytime you want. I’ll willingly open my legs for you.”

Cheon Areum chuckled as Yoon Seoyul turned away, his ears burning with an intense pink. Before leaving, Yoon Seoyul released enough pheromones for him to sleep comfortably in his scent whilst hugging his shirt. His routine—eating and taking naps only to eat again—was too tiring, but even more so now because he had constantly used his energy. By the time Rian came to wake him up, he was so low in energy he could only be dragged by him with a muddled head.

“We have to feed the baby, hyung.”

Rian handed him a spoon instead of chopsticks, seeing how his eyes were barely open, but Cheon Areum just gripped the spoon lightly, staring at the steam rising from the food in front of him.

“It’s okay. I can feed you.”

Standing on the chair next to him, Rian took the spoon from him again and fed him with little breaks in between. Gaining some of his vitality, he began to eat by himself. He hadn’t even used too much of his energy, but it was taking such a toll on him. This was troublesome. Depending on food alone wouldn’t work.

“Hyung…”

Sitting next to him, Rian was eating his own meal when he called out to him. Cheon Areum turned to him instinctively.

“….?”

“Why don’t you have more to eat? I can wake you up for a snack too.”

“That’s a good idea. I will try to eat more.”

Cheon Areum patted him on the head with a smile. Rian had been a big help to him for the last two months, always making sure he was eating and feeling alright.

“What did I do to deserve you, Rian?”

He dramatically exclaimed as he praised his little brother. Thinking he had the energy to send out and hunt for this new awakener, hoping he would just take care of the gates this time around. To conserve his energy, he opted for a new method: sending out a thin piece of his energy to lurk under the ground, moving at the speed of light and quickly determining if he could even detect the energy equivalent to that of an S+ Class.

Focusing on two things at a time, he was about to finish his meal when he was captivated by a strong pull of energy similar to his own— attracting him to itself.
