Chapter 124: Chapter 122: Slaughter
When the heavy gate collapsed with a thunderous crash under the assault of the beastmen and the treacherous mercenaries, Jeming was already standing at the villa entrance.
The vanguard of the beastmen, along with those rebellious human soldiers clad in uniforms and with eyes glinting with fanatical killing intent, charged in, shouting.
They wielded bloodstained axes and scimitars, thinking they were merely invading the mansion of a wealthy merchant, an easy target ripe for the taking.
When they saw Jeming standing quietly in the courtyard, everyone paused for a moment, instinctively suspecting it was a trap.
But upon discovering no magical fluctuations emanating from him, they grew excited once more.
“Kill them all! Take everything!” a particularly burly beastman roared.
Covered in brown fur and with bulging muscles, it wielded a giant axe that gleamed coldly, directly targeting Jeming’s direction.
Behind him, seven or eight beastman warriors riding war pig mounts and a dozen mercenaries swarmed in; the spacious villa courtyard was immediately crowded.
A fleeting flicker of disdain crossed Jeming’s eyes, and he couldn’t help but shake his head:
“Really… Forget it, in my position, I shouldn’t judge you. However, from my standpoint, I can’t let you take this city so easily.”
He moved.
Jeming’s speed was fast enough to tear through the air, transforming into a blur in the eyes of the invaders.
Before the giant axe of the leading beastman could descend, Jeming sidestepped, dodging the axe blade, his right hand gripping the beastman’s thick wrist like a vise.
The face of the elite beastman warrior instantly filled with an unimaginable terror, not out of fear of a strong enemy, but a profound disbelief.
He felt as though what gripped his wrist wasn’t a creature’s hand, but rather solid chains of iron…
No! With his strength, even iron chains could be forcefully broken!
Yet this fellow’s seemingly effortless grip left him unable to muster any resistance.
“Impossible…”
Crack!
A chilling sound of bones breaking echoed clearly in the hall.
The beastman’s wrist twisted at an unnatural angle, releasing the giant axe, which spun through the air towards the wall.
The beastman let out a wail of pain, and before he could retract his arm, Jeming’s left fist shot out like a cannonball, hitting its jaw with precision.
Bang!
With a dull thud, the massive beastman reared back like a scarecrow struck by a hammer, a crisp snap resonating from his neck.
Its pupils dilated abruptly, and its large body fell heavily to the ground, making a muffled crash, no longer moving.
“Huh?”
Watching the beastman fall, Jeming looked a bit surprised; he hadn’t exactly held back with that strike.
Yet this beastman, only of First Level Creature level, actually withstood his punch without its head exploding.
“Although they are all beastmen, the feeling of the physical blow is entirely different. Is it because of different beliefs?” Jeming mused as his hand repeated the gripping motion, savoring the sensation of the recent attack.
This all happened in a flash, and the rest of the beastmen and mercenaries hadn’t even seen what occurred, their companion already turned into a corpse.
Fear, like a cold snake, coiled around their hearts in an instant.
“Charge! He’s only one man!” a mercenary leader shouted hoarsely, trying to rally the troops.
Yet before he finished speaking, Jeming had already leapt into the fray like a leopard.
Without any dazzling magic light, Jeming was using the purest physical strength.
He ducked, evading a sweeping scimitar, his right leg whipped out like a lash, striking a beastman’s knee precisely.
Crack!
The beastman knelt on one knee, wailing in pain, but Jeming didn’t stop, his left hand grabbing the hair on its head, delivering a vicious knee to its face.
Its nose caved in, blood splattered; the beastman twitched briefly, then collapsed limply.
Immediately, a mercenary tried to ambush from the side, stabbing a short knife toward Jeming’s waist and ribs.
Jeming subtly sidestepped, letting the knife scrape against his leather armor, causing a grating screech.
Simultaneously, he abruptly extended his hand, gripping the mercenary’s knife-wielding wrist, then twisting it outward sharply as if wringing a towel!
“Ah!!” the soldier screamed in agony.
His wrist twisted unnaturally, the short knife clanging to the ground.
Jeming’s gaze remained icy, devoid of any mercy, kicking the mercenary in the chest, sending his body flying like a ragdoll, slamming into the wall and sliding down, his chest visibly caved in.
The courtyard’s cramped space became Jeming’s stage instead.
Every strike accompanied by the sound of bones breaking and desperate cries.
His moves seemed simple, yet carried astonishing efficiency and power; every contact implied a death.
Though not skilled in combat techniques, his extraordinary reaction speed and tremendous strength allowed Jeming to proceed unimpeded.
“Monster! He’s a monster!” a few human soldiers, terrified, shouted at Jeming.
They cried out in fear, trying to flee.
But the beastmen were exactly the opposite; facing a powerful enemy like Jeming, they exploded with even stronger fighting spirit.
“Kill! Kill him with me!”
Thus, one side tried to escape outwards, while the others attempted to push inwards, causing both sides to crowd together at the entrance.
“You cannot escape.” Jeming’s calm voice was like the whisper of the Grim Reaper.
He leaped into the air, his toes lightly touching the head of a soldier, and landed on the back of a rampaging war pig attempting to turn and flee.
The frenzied war pig let out an angry roar, trying to shake Jeming off.
However, Jeming’s arms were like roots, firmly gripping its bristles.
He twisted his body sharply, channeling all his strength into his knees, delivering a fierce blow to the war pig’s neck spine.
“Crunch!”
The massive body of the war pig stiffened for a moment, then let out a reluctant whimper and collapsed to the ground.
Its large hooves twitched twice before becoming completely still.
The beastman rider on its back was flung off by the enormous inertia, and before he hit the ground, Jeming’s hand shot out like lightning, grabbed his ankle, swung him around fiercely, and smashed him like a sandbag into another beastman rushing forward.
Bang!
The two beastmen collided heavily with a dull thud and fell to the ground, unable to get up.
In less than two minutes, the previously noisy hall had turned into a chaotic scene.
More than a dozen corpses of beastmen and human soldiers lay sprawled in pools of blood, the air thick with the stench of blood and the odor of death and decay.
Yet Jeming’s breathing remained completely unruffled, and not a single drop of blood stained his body.
He walked slowly out of the courtyard and into the garden outside the villa.
In the garden, more beastman warriors, drawn by the commotion, were trying to climb over the walls or pouring in through the open side door.
The torches in their hands illuminated the night sky, reflecting Jeming’s silhouette, as if he had emerged from hell.
“So you’ve come as well.” Jeming’s tone was indifferent, his gaze sweeping over the brutish, greedy beastmen.
“Human! You think you can stop us?!” roared a particularly large beastman officer wielding a giant warhammer, followed by dozens of elite beastman warriors and several large wild boar knights.
Jeming did not answer, but his eyes swept over them with a hint of disdain: “No Shaman?”
Regarding research on the Divine Power Faith Network, the Angel was temporarily not expected, but Shamans seemed to be good research material as well.
Unfortunately, it seemed there were no Shamans among the beastman invasion this time.
“Makes sense, units like Shaman, who wield magic, probably haven’t even entered the city, right?” Jeming shook his head, his tone filled with disappointment.
“Forget it, your commander looks strong enough, should suffice as a specimen. As for you…” Jeming looked at the beastman officer and shook his head, “Too weak.”
“Kill him!” The beastman officer roared with rage, swinging the warhammer and charging forward.
The beastman warriors behind him also let out earth-shaking roars, stomping the ground as they charged at Jeming.
Jeming lightly tapped his toes, his body soaring into the air, appearing ghost-like above the beastman officer’s head before he even had time to react.
“You’re too slow.”
He unleashed a downward kick, with the force of a thousand pounds, directly aimed at the beastman officer’s head.
The beastman officer instinctively raised his warhammer to block, however, he underestimated the terrifying strength of Jeming’s physical body.
Boom!
With a loud noise, the warhammer bent instantly, the massive body of the beastman officer shuddering violently as his legs sank into the ground, the bones in his knees making a chilling cracking sound.
His eyes were filled with disbelief, pain, and terror.
Jeming landed, not giving him a moment’s respite.
His right hand shot out like lightning, grabbing the beastman officer’s head, and twisted it sharply to the side.
Crack!
Another crisp and fatal sound of bone cracking echoed, the burly body of the beastman officer swayed a few times before collapsing with a thud, his warhammer rolling away.
His eyes were wide open, dead but not resting in peace.
The commanding leader was instantly killed, thoroughly shattering the psychological defenses of the beastmen.
Their previously furious charge came to an abrupt halt, their eyes filled with fear and hesitation.
“He killed the captain!”
“Run!”
Chaos began to spread among the beastman ranks.
However, Jeming wouldn’t give them the chance to escape.
Blood splattered across the garden, severed limbs flying, wails of despair resounding continuously.
The beastmen who attempted to flee often only managed a few steps before being caught by Jeming and killed with a single blow.
Not a single one could survive. His silhouette blurred in the darkness, yet he was omnipresent like the Grim Reaper.
When the last beastman, in despair, had his neck twisted and fell dead, inside and outside the villa, there was no longer a living intruder.
The air was filled with a pungent blood scent, mingling with the fragrance of soil and flowers, creating an eerie equilibrium.
Jeming stood expressionlessly amidst the chaotic pile of corpses, his robe untainted by a single drop of blood, his gaze as calm as a still pond.
He lifted his gaze to the distance, where Golden Harbor was still ablaze, explosions sounding intermittently, but this area had already been cleared by him.
Further away, sensing the changes here, endless waves of beastmen moved steadily toward this location.
“Hope there’s a specimen that surprises me.”
