Chapter 287: Love Moment with Cindy
After fucking Cindy, I stepped back and steadied my breathing, running a hand through my hair. Cindy was bent forward against the table, forearms braced on the surface, her shoulders rising and falling.
The sounds she was making were soft and involuntary, small exhales that made her even more hot right now.
I reached down and pulled her skirt back into place, smoothing it down over her thighs and knees with hands that were still slightly unsteady. A small thing. She didn’t comment on it but I felt her relax fractionally at the gesture.
I pulled my own clothing back together, pants up, belt buckled, the mechanical process of reassembling yourself after the fact and leaned against the edge of the table beside her, breathing.
“We keep doing it raw somehow,” I said, after a moment. More observation than anything.
“Haa…haaa…. yeah,” she managed, a breathless laugh somewhere in the sound. She pushed herself upright slowly, one arm at a time, her blond hair a bit dishevelled.
“I don’t think I could enjoy it without doing it raw anymore,” she said, glancing sideways at me with colour still high in her cheeks. “If I’m being honest.”
“I was going to say the same thing,” I said.
I mean I had been doing with Rachel and Sydney and Elena before and I could tell that raw was the best though dangerous.
I picked her top up from where it had ended up on the table and held it out. “Arms up.”
She giggled and raised both arms obediently, and I pulled it back down over her, settling the fabric back into place over her shoulders. She smoothed it down at the front and leaned back against the table, close enough that her shoulder was against mine, her fingers closing around my arm.
“It’s just, without it, I actually feel you,” she said. “Every part of it. The rubber takes all of that away and turns it into something that’s technically the same activity but isn’t, really.”
“You’re going to make this very difficult to be responsible about going forward,” I said.
She smiled up at me. “Good.”
I shook my head slightly, smiling back before I could stop it.
“The best answer is birth control pills,” I said. “Less to think about, more reliable than us remembering things in the moment, which, as today has demonstrated is not our strongest skill.”
“We looked,” she said, shifting to lean her head against my chest, both arms wrapping loosely around me. “The pharmacies we checked back at Jackson Township and two on our way here. None of us really knew where to look specifically, I think. Sydney didn’t use them, Rachel didn’t, Elena didn’t so when we were gathering medical supplies it wasn’t on the priority list because none of us knew it should be.”
“They shouldn’t be that hard to find if you know what section to look in,” I said.
“Rachel couldn’t find any in Jackson Township either. In that pharmacy we went through.”
I thought back to that. The memory arrived complete, Rachel and Elena moving through the pharmacy aisles with the focused efficiency of a supply run, and the very specific discovery they’d made instead.
I smiled despite myself. “I remember that run. The condom stockpile Rachel and Elena put together.”
Cindy lifted her head, eyes widening slightly. “Gosh thank god nobody noticed it. They must have thought what kind of lustful monsters both were, including myself.”
“They handled it with remarkable dignity,” I said, laughing softly.
“Did you actually use them though?” Cindy asked, with the specific eyebrow raise of someone who suspects the answer.
I looked at the frosted window above us for a moment.
“Not particularly,” I admitted.
Cindy made a sound that was equal parts unsurprised and amused. “I thought so. Rachel and Sydney would both rather do without as well, I know them well enough. The sensation difference is not subtle. I actually feel you inside me.”
“You are considerably bolder today than usual,” I observed, looking down at her.
Cindy met my eyes. Held them. Then the boldness dimmed into something softer and she dropped her gaze with a small flush, ducking her head against my chest again.
Then she looked back up with a completely different expression, narrowed, pointed.
“What exactly,” she said slowly, “was that thing you did.”
I kept my expression entirely neutral. “What thing.”
“Don’t.” She pulled back slightly, pointing at me with one finger. “Don’t do the innocent face. You know what thing. You…did at the end….you pushed…”
“Pushed?” I prompted helpfully.
“Your—” She stopped. Closed her mouth. Her entire face went a shade of red I hadn’t seen before on her. “Your thumb,” she said, taking a breath. “You pushed your thumb…there.”
“This thumb?” I held it up for her consideration.
Cindy looked at it.
Then she shivered and hit me in the chest with her open palm.
I laughed lightly.
“I’m sorry,” I said, pulling her back into my arms before she could hit me again, wrapping both arms around her so she was held against me whether she liked it or not. “I genuinely am. I just, when I am having sex, I stop behaving on my normal settings and start doing things that I haven’t exactly pre-approved. I am a different person during sex.”
“You are exactly yourself during sex,” she said. “That’s the whole point. That is the actual you, when you stop managing everything.”
I thought about that for a moment.
“So the actual me is the very inconsiderate person who just casually attempted to have anal sex with you?”
“Don’t say it out loud,” she said blushing bright red burying her face further in my chest.
“My bad,” I said.
Then, very quietly, so quietly I almost missed it: “Do you want to?”
I looked down at her. She hadn’t lifted her face from my chest. The question had been directed at my sternum.
“What?” I asked, making sure I’d heard it correctly.
A long pause.
“There,” she said. Even quieter. “Do you want to do it… there?”
The word landed and I felt my own face going a bit red.
“Cindy—”
“I don’t mind,” she said. Still not looking up.
I stared at the top of her head for a moment silently and a bit shocked.
“You don’t repeated?” I repeated.
She nodded against my chest.
“R…right but not now…not in an optical center staff room.”
“Obviously not now!” She said, pulling back immediately, face absolutely crimson.
“Right,” I said, very seriously. “Not now.”
“Not now,” she confirmed, still looking at the wall.
“Eventually,” I said.
“Potentially.”
“Noted,” I said.
She pressed both hands over her face.
I reached out and tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear and she made a small, overwhelmed sound into her palms that I decided to interpret as affectionate.
“Should we maybe finally focus on the task at hand?” I asked her, forcing my voice back into something resembling seriousness.
Cindy tilted her head, strands of her hair falling loosely over her shoulder as she looked at me. A smile tugged at her lips, lazy and satisfied.
“Yep,” she nodded. “We should.”
If time didn’t matter, I probably would have stayed there longer with her — leaning against that table, her arms around my neck, the quiet thrill of doing something reckless in someone else’s place. But time did matter. The others could come back any minute, and the last thing we needed was to be caught standing around looking guilty.
Cindy suddenly stiffened.
Her eyes darted around the room like a burglar who had just realized the house might not be empty after all.
“They won’t find out we had sex if they check here, right?” she asked, a faint note of panic creeping into her voice as she scanned the table, the chairs, the floor.
I followed her gaze, crouching slightly to check the ground around us.
“Well… everything seems normal,” I said after a moment, though my attention lingered on the tabletop.
The floor was clear.
No obvious evidence.
The table though…
Cindy’s fluids glistened faintly where the light from the window caught the polished surface.
Her eyes followed mine.
“Oh my God!”
She spun around immediately, grabbing the first thing within reach — a dark coat hanging over the back of a chair. Without hesitation she started scrubbing the table with the sleeve like she was polishing silver.
I couldn’t help it. I laughed.
“You know that coat probably costs at least a thousand bucks, Cindy.”
“He wouldn’t have left it here otherwise!” She shot back without stopping, wiping faster.
“Maybe he didn’t have much choice,” I said with a shrug.
Cindy ignored that, focusing intensely on the task like a detective erasing fingerprints from a crime scene. She rubbed the table in quick circles, then leaned back slightly to inspect her work.
“There,” she said with satisfaction. “Now it’s clean.”
I stepped closer, glancing down.
“Maybe too clean.”
Her eyes snapped up.
“You know who’s responsible for that mess?” she said, pointing a finger at my chest. “You. You should have cleaned it.”
“I already cleaned you down there with my tongue,” I replied casually. “I think that’s enough work for one day.”
“You—!”
She pinched my arm hard enough to make me flinch.
Then suddenly her expression shifted again.
Her gaze drifted downward toward herself.
“What’s up?” I asked.
She hesitated.
“W…Well… I just hope it won’t leak down my thigh or my legs,” she admitted nervously.
Ah.
Right.
I had finished inside her.
If a suspicious white trail suddenly started appearing down her leg while we were walking back to the others, I was pretty sure even Daisy wouldn’t need much detective work to figure out what had happened during our little “absence.”
“Well,” I said, trying to sound reassuring, “your panties should catch it. You can clean up later.”
“You better hope so,” Cindy muttered. “Otherwise we’re going to have to confess everything.”
I chuckled softly.
“I feel like they already think we’re a couple after the whole Boardwalk thing.”
Cindy looked up at me again, that amused spark returning to her eyes.
“You didn’t exactly deny it.”
“Well,” I admitted, scratching the back of my neck, “I tried once. Then I gave up. Being vague and not answering anything seemed like the safer strategy.”
“Safer?” she repeated with a small laugh.
“Yeah. Let them assume whatever they want until the whole truth eventually explodes into the open.”
She crossed her arms loosely.
“The whole truth being…?” She asked, clearly already knowing the answer.
“That I have three incredibly beautiful girlfriends,” I said calmly, “and another one waiting for me like some princess locked away in Russia.”
Cindy blinked once.
Then she burst into quiet giggles, covering her mouth.
“They’ll probably just think we all went a little crazy after the outbreak,” she said. “Like we formed some weird relationship to cope with the end of the world.”
“Honestly,” I said, “that might be easier for them to accept.”
Her laughter softened into a smile.
But after a moment my own expression faded slightly.
“As long as they don’t think I’m some scumbag who can’t be trusted,” I added more quietly.
Cindy’s face changed instantly.
She stepped closer and gently took my arm in both of her hands.
“Nobody is going to think that,” she said firmly.
Her voice carried a calm certainty that pushed back against the doubt creeping into my head.
“They’re already starting to like you,” she continued.
I smiled at her.
Let’s hope they do until this whole mess with Callighan is done at least.
