Chapter 165: Re:Generation
Chapter 165: Re:Generation
The last few steps were hellish, to say the least. Even with the complete Pain Nullification Skill credits to the System, of course I still felt pain in my internal organs. The pressure that came all at once was so overwhelming that I felt like all my organs were crushed to a Pulp. Regardless, I managed to clear the remaining few steps. As someone with the current cultivation level of someone in the higher Ancient Realm, I can’t believe that the pressure was so unbearable. I don’t think that someone who’s as strong as White could survive such an oppressive Qi Energy Ladder. I mean, I only ever managed to do it thanks to the System basically doping me with the Pain Nullification Skill.
Time remaining 00:01:23.31
By the time I reached the top of the Void Tower, my brain decided to shut itself down for some reason. In a split second, I lost consciousness and I had no idea what happened to me. Fortunately, I heard some sort of beeping from afar, waking me up in the process.
It was the System and Hui-ying.
“Yongrui, you have to get out of here! Stand up!” She coaxed. For some reason, I imagined her beside me, shaking my shoulders in an attempt to wake me up. “You can’t stay here.” She repeated.
“Right right, I’m awake. I can’t see anything though. I think my eyes were crushed as well due to the pressure.” I responded, shaking my head.
Gathering all my strength towards my knees and the balls on my feet, I literally pushed myself to stand up. I wasn’t breathing anymore since my lungs were crushed to a pulp as well. I don’t even know how and why I’m still alive. Even though I’m already a rabid human, I don’t think a raid human would still survive after experiencing what I’m going through right now.
I whirled my head around, trying to sense where the Memory Fragment was. Wherever it is, I have to find it as quickly as possible so I can finally get out of here. “Hui-ying, do you have any idea where the Memory Fragment is, right now?” ‘
“Yes, it’s that orb in the center of the room. Just get it and then we’re out of here.” Hui-ying didn’t waste any time explaining everything to me since our time is about to run out. A moment ago, she was trying to force me to give up on the climb but now that we’re here, she had no choice but to support me. I mean, my decisions could very well kill the two of us. I’m guessing she was just being considerate and patient enough.
Thanks to the little Qi Energy I used to cover the entire area, I easily found the orb that Hui-ying was talking about. It was the size of a tennis ball and it felt like it was made out of metal. There was a small trace of Qi Energy inside it.
“Right, now let’s get out of here,” I said, reaching out my hand and grabbing the Memory Fragment in the middle of the Void Tower. Without further ado, I dived towards the center part of the tower where there isn’t anything blocking the way. While the clock ticked, I was free-falling downwards towards the first floor of the Void Tower/Dungeon. If I happened to reach the first floor without dying, then everybody would notice me and pull me out of the tower as fast as they could. But if I die, then I guess it’s over. I won’t have to suffer any longer in this forsaken world.
The air brushed against my cheeks and pushed back my hair as I accelerated downwards. They said that gravity is one of the major forces of the universe… now I know why. If I were a normal person, then there’s no way I could’ve fought against the gravitational pull of the world. I tried to scream as death loomed in front of my body but there was no scream emanating from my throat. Either I was already completely unable to hear, or I completely lost my voice. I’m guessing it was the mixture of both.
Kablam!
Crack!
Crack!”Yongrui!” I heard a distant voice from afar before I completely lost consciousness. But before I did, I managed to put the Memory Fragment in my Storage Ring for fear that I’d lose it.
…..
The next thing I knew, I was already underneath a somewhat unfamiliar ceiling. My eyes were still damaged that I still couldn’t clearly see everything around me. However, I could tell that there were a lot of people surrounding me on my ‘deathbed’ right now. This the thing about dying, a lot of people would go there just to see you.. the only difference was that this is not a funeral. I’m still alive.
A semi-bright white light faintly glowed on the ceiling and another yellow light faintly glowed beside me. I tried to move but all the bones on my appendages were broken and my organs are crushed to the point that they might even take at least a week to recover. But in the end, what matters is that I’m alive. I don’t need to sweat out the small stuff. I should just rest and try to cultivate while everyone else is tending to my body.
‘Wait? If they started examining my body, wouldn’t they realize that my constitution is not that of a human being? What would they say if they find out about it? Well, no point in worrying about it now.’ I said to myself as I relaxed on the bed where I was.
First, I had to work on cultivating my newer Qi Cores. Now that I have all the time in the world while I’m in an unconscious state, I decided to balance all the cultivation levels of my Qi Cores so none of them would be left behind. Since my Original Qi Core and my Virus Qi Core are already good enough, I started working on my Holy Qi Core first.
Based on the rumors and text I heard from the past, someone with the Holy Element should refrain from dwelling in places where Dark Qi Energy revolves around in. The purer the mind and body are, the purer and more powerful the Holy Element becomes. That’s why, with the help of my System, I emptied my mind from all evil thoughts and started cultivating like a maniac. I have enough time so taking it easy was the most productive approach.
I regulated my breathing once again as I started my cultivation. Whilst in the process of emptying my mind, I focused on my Holy Qi Core, directing all the Qi Energy I absorbed towards it. My blood circulation quickened as my Holy Qi Core shone a bright yellow light.
The light was a beautiful color. It was the color you see when the sun was still peeking from the horizon in the early morning. Somehow, the color of my Holy Qi Core made me relax a little bit. This made my cultivation progress even faster.
My other Qi Cores started shaking as I continued focusing on my Holy Qi Core. In my point of view, I could tell that my other Qi Cores were starting to feel jealous or left out since I wasn’t cultivating them.
Now now, I know that Qi Cores are not sentient. But what can I do? If I don’t think of anything else, it would only be a matter of time before boredom overcomes me and it will drastically slow down my cultivation. Sigh~ I’m just glad that no one’s hearing my thoughts which are on a wild ride in my mind right now. If there was someone who’s reading my mind right now, I hope you don’t find it weird. I’m just trying to distract myself from boredom.
<Ti-ring!>
<Congratulations, you’ve unlocked the Holy Element!>
<Skills related to the Holy Element will be unlocked!>
<Would you like to view all your newly obtained skills?>
<Yes/No>
Although viewing my new skills would easily remove the inevitable boredom that I’ll feel in the long run, I decided to hold it off for a while so I will have something to look forward to when I completely wake up from this half-consciousness. It would’ve been an easy way out but once I started feeling really bored, that’s when I’ll start scrolling through my skills.
Warmth enveloped my body as the light coming out of my Holy Qi Core became even more intense. My crushed organs who were slowly healing were beginning to revert to their former healthy state as the light got even stronger. One by one, my broken bones were beginning to align with each other and my sight was gradually returning. As for the severe wounds all over my body, they started to disappear as if they weren’t even there in the first place. As someone with the constitution of a rabid human, I knew that I regenerate and heal faster than your regular cultivator… but couple that with my Holy Qi Core, my regeneration abilities have reached greater heights.
