Chapter 19: Paramax Architectural Structure

Room 24’s door opened, and Jayden stepped inside. He was back in this oven, which he had to call home.

Ryan and Tyler immediately turned to him from their bunks.

“And where are you coming from?” Ryan’s

gaze flanking between the bag in his hand and Jayden’s eyes.

Jayden paused for a second before proceeding to his bunk, “I just went to pick up some stuff from Zoe at the cafeteria.”

“Who’s Zoe?” Tyler raised an eyebrow.

Ryan sat up, “Don’t tell me you’re ditching us for a girl you barely met yesterday!”

“Bro calms!” Jayden purred as he sat on his bunk and began removing the laptop from its bag! “I just went to pick something, that’s all!”

Tyler looked upwards as if searching for Jayden, “When the fuck did you get the time to create such a mutual relationship with her that she was willing to lend you some stuff?”

“Not just that!” Ryan grinned, “What stuff did she have to offer that we don’t?”

Jayden actually thought of it for the first time; she had just offered him her expensive Windows 15 PC without him asking.

He opened the laptop and slid the flash drive into one of the USB slots.

“See guys, I only borrowed her Personal Computer, not after she threatened me to protect it with my life. That was all”

“What!” Tyler exclaimed, finally sprouting from his bunk. “She gave you her laptop?”

Ryan grinned, “What did you even need a computer for? Or was that just an excuse to get closer to her? Who knew the famous Jayden Logan was a player? Smart strategy bro!”

Jayden’s shoulders dropped. He put the laptop aside. “See guys I just needed a computer for the project I’m working on, it was purely a coincidence—”

“Ohh coincidence…” Ryan teased, “That’s how it starts, from coincidence to lovers, then, who knows? You’ll be sleeping in her arms.”

Jayden tried to speak but his words were lost in his throat. He ran a hand through his hair before picking up the laptop and slamming it into his thighs, then said, “You both have it your way!”

Ryan and Tyler looked at Jayden before staring at each other.

They both exhaled deep breaths.

“Okay”, Tyler spat, “but don’t come begging when things don’t go your way!”

Jayden glanced at them as they retreated to their bunks. He didn’t seem to understand what the exaggeration was all about, but they were being serious.

Was this jealousy?

That he didn’t know because he barely spent ten minutes with Zoe and spent the rest of his time with them.

Well, that case wasn’t gonna give him a headache. He had something better to occupy himself with.

Jayden opened the ’Removable disk’ icon, then clicked ’OPEN’ on a single file named ’Paramax Architectural Structure.’

Jayden hesitated for a moment. He had expected a writing that could tell much about what the MAGEO were up to, but the file name and format suggested he get prepared for an image.

But he clicked anyway, who knows? Maps are sometimes detailed than a written address.

Jayden’s heart began pounding just before he clicked the last button.

’Dad, please, don’t be involved in all this mess, ’ he thought, then opened the image.

“What… the fuck… is this…” Jayden mumbled, narrowing his gaze at the a

It was a completely incomprehensible architect.

Shaped like a volcano with directionless but coordinated drawing like mapping a zig-zag road but certainly, each line inscribed in it had a meaning.

“Fuck, this is completely useless” Jayden slammed his back against the wall. What could be found from a drawing more complicated than the structure of a building?

’Paramax Architectural Structure’ he memorised the file name again and rephrased.

“Beyond maximum architectural structural”

But still nothing was correlating with what he knew—How could the drawing and the dragons trapped in tubes relate?

What could the MAGEO be trying to push beyond its limit?

“See… all the stress for nothing” Draco purred.

Jayden sighed and looked back at the computer for seconds, yet nothing changed in his comprehension.

“Fuck!” He slammed a hand into the computer, rubbing his hand on his face.

Zoe’s voice replayed in his mind, reminding him to protect the computer with his life.

“Tch…” Jayden looked back at the computer, luckily, everything was in place, but something caught his eye.

The picture scrolled down a bit when Jayden was thinking that was all to it. At the bottom right of the drawing was a signature just above a name,

“Dr Freeborn”

Jayden clenched his fist in excitement.

“Finally, something to hold on to” Jayden whispered.

It was just a name—but that was the identity of a person. All it took was finding this ’Dr. Freeborn’ and beat some answers out of him.

It would be a tough task finding him, and even harder if he were a high-ranked tamer.

“Don’t get your hopes high” Draco purred, “if this man’s signature is on this document then he should be some big personality, probably protected by a bunch of armies”

Jayden calmed for a bit. Logically, Draco was telling the truth.

“Who really is this person?”

Jayden bit his finger, thinking of any hint.

And that he found.

It was damn so heartbreaking.

The man, Dr Freeborn, used to visit his dad at his home for business talks, Jayden presumed.

“But what if it was about the MAGEO’s hidden lies?”

There’s no doubt. Mr Freeborn’s signature in a top secured drive, his constant visiting to Jayden’s home and his dad’s work as the president’s personal bodyguard.

It was clear that both the president and Logan were not just aware but they were part of this.

Jayden’s teeth were clenched, things were now clear, but he chose not to believe it.

“I’ll ask the old man myself” he muttered.

But he knew quite well his dad was capable of killing him to keep his secrets and that of the MAGEO hidden.

Not like Jayden was his child anymore, so why would he hesitate?.

Jayden would have to wait till he’s strong enough, at least S-ranked, before confronting Dr Freeborn and his dad

But with the drawing on the computer, he could tell things were far bigger than they seemed.
