Chapter 86: Ch 86: A Magical Trap

After her last experience regarding the traps, instead of avoiding them outright, Weiss started to analyse them first before making her decision. This did make the expedition to be more time consuming but Weiss and her team were not really in a hurry here.

This had also increased the risk a little bit but with Weiss being very careful regarding the traps, it was still fine. This decision had actually given Weiss quite a few useful items.

There were obviously more arrows and it looked like this arrow shooting trap was the most common one present here in the castle. Other than that there were also a few poison traps which were the most dangerous type here.

But those poison traps only enriched Weiss’s poison collection. They were mostly liquid ones but one of the traps was also in the gaseous form that Weiss found to be very interesting.

There were also a few classic pitfall traps and there were spikes at the bottom of the pit. And surprisingly, these spikes were actually artifact grade items.

From this Weiss guessed that any magus or magus apprentice were either extremely rich for this world or had some ways to create the items of the knight system easily.

Even though these spikes were not really very good as direct weapons, Weiss could use them as a spear head or could even use them as projectiles. So she did not forget to take them away.

Other than the materials of the traps, there were also other items that Weiss and her team had found. Among them, the most common one was the fake core.

After the first encounter, Weiss’s team has encountered the moving armour four more times. So currently she had found a total of 5 such fake cores.

Among the four moving Armours, two were defeated by Elise who wanted to test out her speed against them. One was defeated by Peria after a decently long battle and the last one was taken care of by Weiss.

Another significant development that Weiss had faced was the trap room which was the main reason why Count Falgur had ran away from here.

This trap room had several of the individual traps, all present at the same place, getting activated at the same time. So it was definitely very dangerous.

But as Weiss was still capable of seeing through all of the traps, she was able to navigate the trap room easily and reaped a lot of gains. So she actually wished that there would be more trap rooms like this.

All in all, for the first day of their expedition, the ladies managed to find a lot of things and gained a lot too. So it was a very sucessful day for them.

At the end of the day, they found one of the rooms that Weiss had thoroughly cleared out and decided to rest there. As there were two beds already there, the ladies did not even need to sleep on the floor.

Among the two beds, first the ladies had tried to give one of the beds to Weiss alone. But Weiss herself disagreed with this decision and instead decided that it should be Peria who should have one bed all to herself.

And the reason for this decision was her special needs. When Weiss was modifying her secret art, she had asked Peria if she wanted to get rid of the lustful aspect of that art which would make the boost to the attributes to be slightly less or to keep it and enjoy a higher attribute boost.

Peria had immediately chosen the second option. She obviously wanted to have better attributes. As for her lust related troubles, Peria was already used to it after spending so much time practicing her secret art. So she was fine with this lustful aspect still being present in her secret art.

That was why, Weiss could not lessen her caution. Her super high perception stat boosted sixth sense was giving her warnings that the first floor was going to be several times more dangerous than the ground floor.

After just taking the first step, Weiss immediately felt that a chill suddenly ran down her spine.

Even though Weiss had no idea what kind of danger this chill represented, she trusted her instincts and immediately pushed Elise and Peria away. Both of the ladies fell down from the stairs and went back to the ground floor.

They were obviously very surprised with this sudden turn of event. But as soon as they came back to their senses, both of them tried to go back up to the first floor. But they were blocked by a suddenly appeared metallic wall. And Weiss was also nowhere to be seen.
