Chapter 14 – Goblin’s Dungeon
Right after, the guard spoke again and explained in a bit more detail.
“Adventurer, there is a door right under the bed that leads to where the actual dungeon is. The monsters there are easy to clear, but the treasure is valuable. I made sure not to tell them where the door is till my final moment in order to protect the masses.”
He paused for a moment before he continued.
“Take the treasure to the Mayor and he will know what to do with it, thanks for saving our town’s peace,” Right after his words, the guard took his last breath and dropped dead.
Yone didn’t linger much. He looted the guard for money but found none. He then pushed the bed aside, opened the dungeon’s door, and started exploring. Except for some low-level 3 goblins that any child could beat blindfolded, there was no real threat yet.
+20 exp… +20 exp…+ 20 exp…
About 30 minutes of continuously grinding goblins and searching throughout the several doors scattered at both sides, Yone rose to level 3 after killing around forty goblins, which provided him with a whopping 800 EXP with close to no effort.
Level up!
Yone smiled and distributed 5 points to agility as usual,’ No wonder the guard said the dungeon is easy, goblins are one of the weakest monsters when it came to Eclipse Online and only skeletons managed to fight them for that position.’
“Ding! Player ‘Requiem’ is the first player to reach level 3 in Eclipse Online and place all fifteen free stat attributes in one single stat ‘Agility’.”
“Player ‘Requiem’ has been rewarded with 10% attack speed passive on stealth.”
“Does player ‘Requiem’ wish to make this announcement a global announcement and help other players throughout the world by being an example?”
Yone almost rolled his eyes at the system notification and instantly pressed the button ‘No.’ Still, it’s not like I’ll let this information rot out anyway. I should use it before the 48-hour in-game pass and the next player publicizes it.”
“I’ll do it after this dungeon,” With that thought, Yone kept on going through the dungeon, killing dungeons as he casually walked through it.
After more than an hour of entering the dungeon, Yone gained another 900EXP after killing 45 goblins with each giving 20 EXP, making his HP bar rise to a terrifying level and almost close to leveling up again.

Again, no other stat rose except agility, which I increased by using the free stat attributes.
This was a detail many people didn’t notice yet but soon they will. Eclipse Online made sure the game was fair and not a walk in the park, with stats only regularly increasing by leveling up after the first major update, which was three days after the first player reached level 10.
It was a weird parameter they implemented, different from End World, but also quite clever after players thought it through. Since monsters’ experience was low and leveling was hellish and time-consuming, giving free stats with each level would make things easier. The AI didn’t want to do this, so it cut it from the root and only gave it later.
“Also, what people didn’t know is the real reason behind such a parameter were the opportunities inside the starting towns, which is the unique and rare quests that the AI wished the players to have more time in order to stumble upon them,” Yone thought of it and smiled, feeling that this parameter somehow was his greatest benefactor for now.
After his quick pace, Yone finally reached an open chamber with a huge green goblin two meters tall. He held a massive maze on his right arm and wore silver armor. His eyes were red, and the stars above his head were almost bloody red.
Name: Goblin Warrior
Title: Birthing Queen
Level: 6
Health: 320/320 HP
Yone, after seeing the goblin stats wiped, the imaginary sweat off of his forehead, his heart calming down,’ If this was an Elite Goblin Warrior, I would have never left this dungeon alive or without losing one level, thank god it’s just a regular Goblin Warrior.’
Yone finally understood why the guard said the dungeon was easy and used stealth to circle behind him. Stealth is a skill that never works against boss-type monsters, which were Elite monsters and above. Still, since this one was a slightly stronger globin and merely an ordinary monster, stealth isn’t effortlessly detectable, and it requires some skill to detect it.
Still, even with his flow movements and encirclement, he was spotted before he was a meter away, but Yone didn’t let the chance slide. To maximize his damage, he used Shadow Step. This saved the stealth passive from failing by getting detected, and it was a combo everyone knew in his past life.
-20…-25…-35!…Critical hit…
Several numbers began appearing above the goblin warrior’s head as he was taking a massive amount of damage in a short amount of time, his HP bar going from 100% to 70% in just one opening.
“Too slow.” Seeing the goblin react and about to turn around with his regular tornado attack, Yone used evasion in time, stepped back, and avoided it altogether. Making sure to keep a distance of at least a meter between them was hard in a chamber 5 meters wide, but he barely managed to do so.
Right after his tornado ended, Shadow Step cooldown ended and Yone used it again as he easily dodged his vertical slash and went behind him. The goblin could barely follow his movements as he struggled to land a single clean hit on him.
The fight was long and Yone kept running around him, always making sure he was behind him, dodging blows and taking no damage ….. it was extremely taxing for him mentally, but there was no other alternative for a low level like him to beat such a goblin otherwise.
The goblin finally made a mistake when he went for Yone’s waist. He easily dropped to the ground to avoid the hit and then instantly sped behind him.
This was his chance because the goblin would need more time to nearly land such an attack on him, and with a powerful thrust of his dagger, he killed the goblin.
-40! Critical Hit!!!
+1 Silver coins, + White Silver armor ( Plate-Uncommon)
“Damn it, Plate armor not leather,” Yone cursed his luck but also found it reasonable after he thought it through,” Its a golbin warrior so its to be expected I guess. The silver coin is good enough anyway and I’ll sell the other.”
Immediately afterward, his eyes fixated on a small gray treasure in the corner of the room. Upon touching it, a system notification rang, and a message appeared before him.
