This devil fruit has 3 functions which are to Steal the shadows of other beings, Insert shadows into living or dead bodies resulting in creating zombies in Moria’s case and finally ability to control his own shadow

It takes a little bit of time to take a shadow of the person and not to mention that he also needed to touch that person’s shadow to steal that person’s shadow

Not only does Yoriichi have mastery over haki, but he also possesses the conqueror haki which is only possessed by limited people in the world

So he knows Yoriichi won’t give him any time to steal his or his companion’s shadow, which makes matters worse that Yoriichi is a swordsman who is extremely fast

Yoriichi already let his guard down as he already knew that Moria wasn’t in this room anymore due to his Observation Haki but still, there was an uneasy feeling in his heart making him somewhat anxious
