“So, here are the roles I’ve decided for each of you,” Adrian said, looking at the five students in front of him. They were clearly shaken and frustrated.

Allen glanced at the older man and asked, “Sir… what was that spell?”

A bright smile spread across her face, and she bowed. “I’ll give it everything I’ve got. Thank you, sir.”

Then Adrian turned to Allen. “You ran straight to the civilians. A kind heart. But… you forgot your first priority was the King.”

Allen spoke politely, “Forgive me, sir, but in my eyes, the King and the people are equal. They’re all human. While the King was still safe behind the palace walls, those people were dying. I just followed my instincts.”

Allen bit his lip but stayed silent.

“Brendon,” Adrian said, now facing the first-year, “you didn’t move at all. You stayed hidden near the palace and chose to focus solely on the King’s safety.”

It was the exact opposite of what Allen did.

Brendon explained, “Sir, I didn’t have my secondary weapon with me. I thought under those circumstances, it would be wiser not to risk moving around and instead focus on guarding the most important person.”

Adrian nodded slowly. “That’s fair. But remember this—always carry an armament with you. Even when you sleep.”

The young man gave a firm nod. “Understood, sir.”

Adrian returned the gesture, then said, “You’ll take on the role of support. You’ll assist both offense and defense.”

Brendon blinked, surprised.

After the leader, the supporter holds the most critical role—constantly watching both fronts and reacting fast.

He hadn’t expected to be chosen for it.

“I-It’s an honor, sir,” he said, slightly overwhelmed.

But Adrian’s expression remained firm. “You let your enemy land a hit on you on purpose before finishing them off. You wasted time high-fiving soldiers. And you went to check on the King—even though there was absolutely no need.”

Aries stammered, “B-But… what if he had been attacked?”

She looked around, hoping someone would back her up.

Her eyes met Elana’s, who simply gave her a small, defeated shake of the head.

Adrian let out a quiet sigh before speaking. “I know you did all that because you realized it was just an illusion. But Aries… I need you to stay focused—every single moment during training.”

His gaze hardened, voice steady and clear.

“When I look at you, I see a young Ariana. You have the strength, you just need a little more focus—and real dedication.”

Aries was stunned at those words. She was being compared to the Headmistress?

After a momentary pause, she gave a firm nod and said, “I understand, sir. I’ll keep your words in mind.”

Adrian removed his glasses and looked at the group. “I assume you’re all satisfied with your roles?”

Everyone nodded—except Allen, who still looked uneasy.

Choosing to ignore the expression on his face, Adrian continued, “Starting tomorrow, you’ll dedicate one hour each day to team training. I won’t be able to monitor you regularly, but I’ll be there for the first session to explain the exercises. They’re designed to improve your coordination and team synergy.”

“Any questions?” Adrian asked.

No one spoke.

“Class dismissed,” he said, sliding his glasses back on before walking out of the room.

There was someone he needed to see—Ariana.

They were leaving for their hometown the day after tomorrow.

The engagement was set for three days later, to be held at Ariana’s house.

It would be a small ceremony, attended only by those closest to both families.

Ariana had been quietly excited about it. Just last week, she’d gone dress shopping with her mother, making the trip all the way from the academy.

She hadn’t shown Adrian the dress yet—telling him it would be sweeter if he waited until the day itself.

“I want to see you all stunned and ensnared.,” she’d said with a smile.

He couldn’t help but grin.
