‘Shit…I forgot I got a pool date with Aurora!! Shitt!’

Mikey’s brain went into full-blown panic mode as he hurried back to his dorm room.

“I worked hard to get you in as my plus-one. Come on, I saved you a spot.”

Before he could even process her words, she pulled him forward, her grip leaving no room for protest as he followed obediently.

They wove through the chaos, slipping past tangled couples lost in heated kisses, guys shamelessly grabbing handfuls of their girls’ asses, and the occasional drunken brawl breaking out in the midst of it all. At least one poor soul had already tumbled headfirst into the lake, arms flailing as laughter erupted around them.

The party was absolute madness—loud, reckless, and wild in a way that made Mikey feel like utterly out of place.

Aurora, unfazed, led him to a quieter spot near the water—a tree trunk resting on a gentle slope that overlooked the pond. She sat down, a gentle thud erupting as her ass clapped against the trunk, and then she patted the space next to her.

“Aren’t you gonna sit?” she asked.

Normally, Mikey wouldn’t have minded being near the water, but his phone—his one and only gateway into the world of web novels—was sitting snug in his pocket. No way in hell was he about to risk that.

“Nah, I’m good.” he said quickly.

Aurora squinted.

“You’re being weird today. What’s up?”

Mikey waved a hand, taking a cautious step back.

“Nothing. Everything’s fine.”

She raised an eyebrow.

“Riiight. So…”

Their conversation carried on effortlessly, the usual rhythm of their banter flowing without a hitch. Playful jabs. Ridiculous jokes. Teasing that blurred the line between innocent and suggestive. Even discussions about Mikey’s obsession with boobs—both in general and, yes, Aurora’s in particular.

That was what made it all so easy. Aurora knew damn well that if given the chance, Mikey wouldn’t hesitate to sleep with her. And yet, she remained his friend, unbothered by his shameless nature. She never judged, never flinched. Maybe that was why he felt so at ease around her—because she saw him for who he was and accepted it.

However, just as their conversation hit its stride, a sudden vibration buzzed against Mikey’s leg. His phone. Instinctively, he fished it out, glancing at the screen—only to freeze.
