Lin Fang’s voice turned cold as he turned toward the women wrapped in the towel, peeking from behind the shower curtain. “I’m not going to repeat again. Listen carefully, Miss. Vivian stood alone there with her chest heaving, clutching the towel around her.

She paced three steps, then stopped and pressed a palm to the sill where Lin Fang had been, as if imagining him looking back. “How. Dare. He.”

The Lightning Pterosaur glided across the dusky sky with its wings sparking faintly with arcs of electricity. As the hot and strong winds hit Lin Fang’s face as he leaned forward, his hand reached out to the beast’s scaled neck, holding on to it so as not to fall down.

Meanwhile, inside his head, Alpha’s calm voice stirred. “I can sense trouble approaching you, Lin Fang.”

Lin Fang’s lips pressed into a thin line. His eyes flicked back over his shoulder, scanning the cityscape below. “I know,” he muttered, voice serious.

Far behind stood the only eight-story hotel he had just left. Its exterior gleamed with glass and golden trims, the name Oasis glowing in massive letters across the top. The seven-star hotel was famous—only the wealthiest and most influential dared to stay there.

Lin Fang’s gaze lingered for a moment, his eyes narrowing. “People from those places, with their high ego and arrogance, would never try to reason with those from lower social circles. Better to go far away from them.”

The Pterosaur screeched once, wings beating harder as if it wanted to say it was there to punish his enemies. Lin Fang shook his head, exhaling. “Forget it. Let’s go.”

Later that night, warm light spilled across the residence’s living room while the TV played some random news channel at low volume. Lin Fang sat relaxed on the couch, one leg stretched over the other. A bottle of beer rested in his hand, foam still clinging to the rim.

On his lap, a small wolf pup snoozed peacefully, its chest rising and falling in a steady rhythm.

“Yo,” Lin Fang greeted casually, flashing a smile.

Zhi Yan blinked at him, surprise flashing across her features. “You… you look completely recovered!” Her tone was almost cheerful, the weariness she carried since morning washing off in an instant. She strode over and plopped onto the seat beside him without hesitation.

Before Lin Fang could say anything, she scooped the wolf pup off his lap. “And look at this little guy—Black!” she said warmly, hugging it close.
