Walking ahead, Cynthia heard Malachi’s words from behind, paused slightly, and turned to look at him. She knew precisely what he was thinking and found it amusing, agreeing readily, “Alright, no problem, but prepare your own prey.”

Anyway, she hadn’t had dinner yet, so making extra for Malachi was no big deal.

After speaking, she carried her basket and walked away.

Rhys, carrying a wooden bucket, followed behind and upon hearing that, his eyes shifted slightly, knowing there’d be delicious food later, a faint smile appeared on his lips, as if a crack had opened on an iceberg.

He said nothing but silently followed along with the bucket.

Corbin and Kian certainly heard this as well. They exchanged a glance, instantly shoving aside any awkwardness, leaving their pride behind.

Each swiftly picked up their two wooden buckets filled with stalactites and caught up, fearing they’d be left without a share of the good food if they were a step late.

Malachi saw this scene and tutted twice, his expression and tone carrying slight disdain: “Tsk, all of you… normally, you pretend to be something special, but upon hearing food is involved, you run faster than a rabbit. Have the guts to keep being cold and aloof, so I can eat a few more mouthfuls.”

With these words, he put more force into his arms, slinging two baskets full of things onto his shoulder, leisurely following them.

Zeke stood in place, bewildered by the wind, looking at the items on the ground, deeply conflicted about whether he should join in carrying them.

Cynthia carried a basket full of longhorn beans ahead, glimpsing the beast husbands catching up behind her, a pleased smile formed on her lips.

But she didn’t say anything, just wondering silently what delicious food to make later.

Mason also eagerly carried his things, catching up quickly to Cynthia, grinning at her side, “Sister, what delicious food are you planning to make tonight? Include a portion for your brother, too?”

Ever since his sister got guidance from The Beast God in her dream, being able to make all sorts of delicious foods, he hadn’t tasted her cooking.

Their father did, though, having heard the taste is excellent, mouth-wateringly delicious.

It was something he had never tried before, making him want to taste it too.

Cynthia glanced sideways at Mason catching up, seeing his ingratiating face, she couldn’t help but roll her eyes, “You’re quite the opportunist, weren’t so eager when it was time to carry things earlier?”

Mason’s face showed some embarrassment and some guilt, chuckling awkwardly, “Well, because they were there, what’s the point for me, the brother, to be so eager? Naturally, I left the opportunity for your beast husbands to shine.”

“Brother sure knows how to find excuses, alright, you’ll have a share.”

She rolled her eyes at him, then ignored him, continuing towards the cave with her basket.

Completely unaware of Mia’s sinister, twisted, and venomous face behind them.

Maybe she noticed but didn’t care, since the system was watching over her; if Mia dared to harm her stealthily, it would certainly alert her immediately.

The priest held a bone staff, with a softly glowing beast core embedded at the top, his expression solemn, he slowly said, “The appearance of The Salt Lake is not only a blessing to the tribe but also the protection of The Beast God. We need to hold a sacrificial ceremony as soon as possible to thank The Beast God’s gifts.”

The two spoke as they quickly entered the stone house.

Lyle, seeing them arrive, his smile grew bigger, heartily saying, “Witch doctor, priest, you’re here just in time! Luna really makes me proud! Hahaha!”

The witch doctor and priest exchanged a knowing glance.

The witch doctor smiled, nodding, “Leader, Cynthia indeed is impressive. However, this matter needs careful handling. Once The Salt Lake gets out, it might attract other tribes’ coveting.”

Lyle frowned slightly at this remark, speaking in a deep voice, “The witch doctor is right. The Salt Lake is the treasure of our tribe; it must not be tainted by others. Priest, prepare the sacrificial ceremony immediately, praying for The Beast God’s protection. Meanwhile, I’ll send elite beastmen to guard the cliff base.”

The priest agreed, solemnly, “Don’t worry, leader, the sacrificial ceremony will be arranged soon. But since Cynthia discovered The Salt Lake and brought back so much salt, she must know how to mine and extract salt. Why not ask her, sparing us from racking our brains to figure it out.”

Lyle nodded slightly, naturally having no objections.

About to have Wolf Two call Cynthia over, a voice came from the entrance.

“Leader, Quinn Morgan has been captured by Corbin and brought over.”

She glanced at Lyle, then at her surroundings, seemingly having no memory of the place.

Lyle saw her state, frowning, finding it peculiar.

Then he turned his gaze to Yuri Ashwood, frowning as he asked, “What’s her story?”

Yuri didn’t dare delay, respectfully answered, “Leader, Quinn Morgan hit a rock when falling off a cliff, since waking she’s lost her memory, remembers nothing. She was quiet on the way back, seemed unfamiliar with everything around.”

Lyle was yet unaware of Quinn Morgan pulling Cynthia down a cliff; now hearing of Quinn’s amnesia, his expression grew complex.

After all, the two lived together for nearly twenty years, claiming there was no emotion at all was false.

Quinn Morgan had also borne him two children, suffered much in prison, now losing her memory, his former anger and hatred had mostly dissipated.

But recalling her actions, his face grew cold again.

“Amnesia?”

Lyle coldly sneered, his tone laced with sarcasm, “Well, she’s lucky then.”
