Chapter 18: Chapter 18: Stone Pot

Seeing that she didn’t cling to him like before and didn’t say anything disgusting, his wolf eyes flashed with surprise.

It’s better that she doesn’t come over, saves him the disgust, at least she has some self-awareness.

He placed the prey he was holding in his mouth on the ground.

He pointed to the basket containing the fungi.

Luna Sutton glanced at him and explained, “These fungi aren’t poisonous, they are edible, and very delicious and nutritious.”

Corbin Crowley clearly didn’t believe her, frowning deeply, “Don’t blame me for not warning you, if you died from eating them, it’s not my problem.”

Seeing he didn’t believe her, she didn’t bother explaining further; when she cooked it later, he’d know whether it was poisonous or not.

However, making food required a pot; without one, having as many ingredients as she liked was useless.

Luna Sutton patiently explained, “It’s a stone container used for boiling food, hollow in the middle to hold water or food, best if it’s thin.”

Too thick and it would heat very slowly.

Corbin Crowley still didn’t seem to understand, frowning tightly, “How can a stone hold water or food? What nonsense are you talking about?”

She felt a bit speechless but knew she couldn’t blame him, this world hadn’t yet developed the use of stone pots.

She thought for a moment and tried to explain more simply, “It’s about finding a hollow stone with an oval bottom that can hold things, and then we can start a fire underneath to cook the food. But it can’t be too thick, or it will heat too slowly.”

Hearing this, Corbin Crowley seemed to understand a bit, “You mean, like a clay pot used for boiling food, but made of stone?”

Corbin Crowley saw her suddenly approach, her face almost the size of a millstone, looking at him.

He turned his head away in distaste, saying coldly, “Not far. If you go quickly, it takes about half an hour.”

Luna Sutton didn’t miss the disdain in his eyes, and though it made her uncomfortable,

she didn’t take it to heart.

She looked up at the sky, seeing the sun was setting, likely about three in the afternoon.

Half an hour is one hour round trip.

Returning would be around five, and it wouldn’t be dark yet. If nothing goes wrong, she should be able to make it back in time to meet up with the tribe’s Beastmen.

She looked over at Corbin Crowley, thinking of asking him to take her to Adamantus.

But knowing how much this man disliked her, he probably wouldn’t agree easily.

Luna Sutton sighed inwardly but still tried to speak up, “Well… Corbin Crowley, can you take me to Adamantus?”

Corbin Crowley frowned at her, refusing without thinking, “No.”

The cold tone left no room for hesitation.

She had already anticipated he would refuse, so she wasn’t overly disappointed.

She thought for a moment and said, “If you take me to Adamantus and find the stone pot, I can make some delicious food for you, something you’ve never had before.”

Corbin Crowley looked at her with his silver eyes, laughing mockingly, “No need, I wouldn’t dare eat what you cook.”

Someone who can’t even roast meat properly, expecting her to make delicious food?

Listening to his mocking words, Luna Sutton looked embarrassed.

She knew she was very ugly now, and her smile might look uglier, but she still wanted to smile.

Corbin Crowley looked at her smile and only found it incredibly glaring.

He must be crazy to agree to take her to Adamantus.
