Clara Grant’s gaze shifted from the jacket draped over her to Seth Quinn’s face.

When he was awake, this man was always cold and domineering, the picture of aloof arrogance. But while he slept, much of that fierceness was gone, leaving him with a surprisingly peaceful and serene aura.

Clara Grant glanced down at the jacket again. ’I never thought he could be this considerate,’ she mused.

When he was awake, she never dared to get too close. She was afraid his intimidating aura would harm her, and she was afraid of those deep, bottomless eyes that seemed to capture one’s very soul.

But now that he was asleep, Clara grew bolder. She quietly sat up and leaned closer to him.

In truth, Seth Quinn hadn’t been asleep at all. When the car arrived, he saw that she was still sleeping and couldn’t bring himself to wake her. After scrolling through his phone for a bit, he decided to close his eyes and rest as well.

So, the moment Clara woke up and leaned toward him, he sensed it.

But for some reason, he kept his eyes closed, content to let her soft breaths wash over him, just feeling her presence nearby.

He knew she was watching him, just as he had watched her while she slept.

Suddenly, he was filled with the desire to know if she would do as he had done—steal a kiss while he was “asleep.”

He waited in anticipation.

But in the end, she disappointed him.
